@@JaydenWong I have randomly talk to people on street in Helsinki, it's like talking to some relatives, about how close of the relations you can get with the strangers, and their education is ridiculously good, much much better than Australian I can say.

Great video, Jayden! So wonderful about not having to take the stuff out of your bags at LHR now. That makes life so much easier. I’ll have to check out the QANTAS lounge next time I’m in T3. I usually just go to the Cathay lounge. It seems like you had a nice flight. I like that you can order drinks and food on the TV. Very convenient. Hope you enjoyed your visit to a very chilly Helsinki.

Great video Jayden! I wish they had those prices domestically in Australia and the only lounge I have been to at Heathrow was the Silverkris lounge which was good and looked a bit like Cathay’s!

Great editing, loved it! Yeah ice everywhere in Helsinki this winter, so slippery, I've already fallen twice. Feels like the Finnish winter tries to kill you :) Come back in summer, Helsinki looks totally different then!

Really great video ... loved all of it. We did LHR-HEL with Finnair and it was great fun. You were there pretty early which explains why the Qantas lounge was so quiet. Trust me it gets really busy and is just awful then. I much preferred the Cathay lounge. It is quite incredible that you went to pretty much everywhere we went to except you didn't do the day return cruise to Tallin ! When we were in Helsinki it was quite hot and we were in shorts and t's, I don't think I like the look of winter there. Of course then came "we are back at the hotel and will go to the sauna and pool" >drools< then the video ends 🤣🤣🤣 you are such a tease lol

You can't take the wrong train from the airport, it's a circlular train line so both trains go to Helsinki. 🙂
ahaha true! But my stop was closer if we caught to south western bound train, and we figured out it would be faster to go back via the airport :)

I'm with you, Cathay is more relaxed. I have access to the first class lounge and the sit down restaurant there is top notch. Qantas is better for groups and pastries for breakfast!

Well done Jayden and the way I see CX LHR lounge it equals HKG lounges including the Pier by gates 60-65 which I used back in 2006. I wonder why 6'4" gets the middle seat? Had you and 6'4" in a 2-3-2 or 2-2-2 Business Class seat 6'4" will need to take the Aisle seat while you take the window seat. Among the Premium economy seats you've taken will this AY seat beat CX DL & SQ A359s or DL CX SQ A359s beat the AY seat on LHR-HEL

I’m torn between the coat hooks at the Qantas lounge and the darker ambiance at the Cathay lounge! I like my lounges darker for the sake of any hangovers 😂

I don't think you would have liked terminal 3 without the lounge access. 6'4" was very camera shy this time but he looked cute sleeping on the plane. Next time you go there in winter, buy or take a pair of crampons. It is better than a broken leg, but that said , hospital and ambulance charges are very reasonable.
haha thought about that before. I think I'll like T2 which the massive Pret 🤣

Great trip report. Finnair has beautiful glassware in their business class longer flights. Why does 6’ 4” always get stuck in the middle seat? Haha. I love your “city” reports. Taking the train the wrong way, that hurts after a long day! So icy too!
The Iittala glassware, especially the Ultima Thule glasses are amazing...

I have managed to pretty much get the entire collection buying a few pieces every time I visit Finland. I was lucky enough to also get the custom blue glasses they make for Finnair which they removed from sale just over a year ago@@GaryInAmsterdam

The AA lounge at T3 is nothing worth raving about, when I was there several weeks ago, it had a smell of mouldy carpet... FYI, the Premium Economy seats between LHR & HEL now have a charge of around AU$60-80 (EU€35-48) even for OneWorld Emerald members (flew that route 8 times last year, and have half a dozen AY A350 flights this year, all with the surcharge - no more freebies).
Fair seat for this price.

Yeah widebodies are not common on short hauls in Europe, only Finnair and Iberia come to mind, both use widebodies on their LHR routes, Finnair 2x daily. And Turkish Airlines, if it counts as European.

haha thankfully not. The staff at LHR were really chill. Nah 3 more years on my visa and I can apply for permanent residency. But that's not something I want or need right now :) I can go back in the future if I want to

Flying LHR to St Petersburg? Would only work via Istanbul or Dubai basically. And quite a strange idea to travel to Russia as a tourist these days.
I can go in easily without a visa. 6'4 will find it difficult haha

Pleased that you are able to show the grounded BA Concorde at LHR Jayden. As for AY ... it's a widely praised airline but now suffering from the Russian flight network. AY expects the ban to last 10 years but that seems unduly pessimistic and, in any case, aviation can change.
I recently took a Qantas flight operated by Finnair A330 and crew from Singapore to Sydney. It's almost feels a fifth freedom route. Hope to see more of them until they can fly over Russia again

The UK doesn't do duty-free/tax refunds anymore on luxury brands. You might be able to get duty free cosmetics and liquor though through one of the dedicate DF stores - I *think* @@JaydenWong

The Cathy lounge at T3 LHR has a good reputation, although I have not visited it. I believe the Qantas lounge was formerly the SQ lounge.
Finnair is on inrovenous as is much of One World carriers including CX. I feel sorry for the crews. Definately a dismal experience on all One World. QF excels
$100 for a 1 way flight to Helsinki is not bad, a little cheap.

6’4 is moving with me. He got a job somewhere (I’ll announce that soon). Lily will stay in my Adelaide home with my housemates for now, I will go back hopefully at least every two months to visit!
