    Love the video - around 15:45 you were describing the club head passing through with the driver. Can the same process be used with irons?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  7 месяцев назад

      Hey Scott! Yes! But the head will be more forward with iron
      I go over that part here:

    THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU - I tried these simple principles on the course today and the results were amazing - I was straight to bleeding fade (with the occasional draw hook) - today I hit dead straight or with baby draw and long too with less effort. Gotta love that!

    Hi Eric, loved this lesson, I watched it yesterday, and put it to use on the range this morning, wow what a difference in ball striking, difficult to see whether it went further, but for the ball striking with both irons and driver was amazing, so thank you.

    Yesterdays range time was horrendous , depressingly so ..never great with driver (a lot of times it stays covered for whole rounds )or long irons.but can usually at least get a tee’d 3i off to a fairway ,not yesterday ..the lil i had figured out i seem to have forgotten …..i go from high fade /hard slice ,to trying to correct it and getting low left snap hook or visa versa …no middle ground till i get to the 4i which wasnt great but playable ..then today ,Erics coming up more often in my feed …guess maybe i should pay more attention.😬🤷🏼‍♂️✌️

    "if you hit my shin I'm gonna have to kill you" did not go unnoticed and was absolutely hilarious. I've been struggling with my driver lately which balloons my score due to lost balls off the tee, your explanation of cause and effect have always been helpful in allowing me to work and improve my game. Keep up the great work, Eric.

    Your student needs to do 3 simple setup changes
    1. Square off his stance
    2. Flare out his lead foot 1/4 turn
    3. Narrow his Stance by 2 inches
    Squaring his stance will shorten his backswing , guarantee a more upright takeaway with the shaft parallel to the target line at first parallel and encourage more pelvic rotation going down
    Flaring his lead foot will reduce the length of his backswing by restricting his pelvic rotation going back and will make it much easier to rotate his pelvis going down
    Narrowing his stance will make it easier to rotate
    Both 1+2 will result in less external rotation of his lead hip going back ( lead knee breaking in away from the target

    Also an example of benefit of making slow motion swings. He was obviously uncomfortable first time he had to turn head and chest back and get to the ball from there .Same with using side bend and still keeping head behind the ball. Each time as you moved him through the required motion you could see him begin to find a comfortable way to do it. Then you put a ball down and...pow! So cool watch

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  7 месяцев назад

      100%! Agreed Brad---good stuff! Gotta start sloowwwwww to really get the FEELs. I like to tell the student clearly where we are trying to go.....and then guide and assist as needed to help create the right motion/feels but let their brains create the feels they need on their own

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hey! Maybe...Would be totally fine to play with closed stance as well! I have lots of players do that

    • @javiervigil2511
      @javiervigil2511 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@CogornoGolf Cool, thanks for the clarification. It seems like he took that stance to counteract the slice, if he starts overcooking the draw would you change that?

    • @CogornoGolf
      @CogornoGolf  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah maybe.....honestly the stance line for him would be really low on the priority list compared to other items. Its doesnt have a main effect on his issues from my perspective....

    This guy would also be better if he slowed his tempo down, it's pretty sloppy and could probably hit it much further if he smoothed that out
