      @@watch_please Hi I'm a fan of Omega but 2 price hikes in 9 months, I feel exploited as a customer, they are out pricing themselves, with a lot of competition out there. Tudor are a good option, I've been offered discounts of 5% and 10%, like longines they offer quality and price, for me the Pelagos is a class leader. The Black Bays deserve the hype, with the 58 suiting slimmer wrists. Carl F. Bucherer offer a little exclusivity, and after all John Wick can't be wrong. Away from the Swiss, there are solid Seiko's on the market, the Shogun Titanium is always worth a look, offers are out there, I got mine half price and of course Casio MTG and MRG are always interesting technological marvels.

      @@watch_please My bad, I do get carried away when talking about watches. As for my last two longines, both purchased this year, I have a master collection moon phase chronograph, L26734783. Exquisite detail, look at its complications and from the Spirit collection the blue chronograph, L38204930, I have that on a blue and grey NATO and it's stunning. The brand has a long and illustrious history, the oldest trademark, Einstein and Humphrey Bogart owned them, their connection to the history of aviation.......love, peace and happy horology.

      @@CompassIIDX I absolutely love it. As with everything there were a few very minor things that I wished were different, but honestly even to this day every time I look at it I smile. That might sound crazy but it’s true. I have since bought a second watch from a
      microbrand that that’s more casual and fun for summer wear, which I also love in its own way, but comparing the quality is laughable. The Longines truly feels premium in so many ways and I’m excited for you to see if you enjoy it the way I do.

      @@TimFolkman Sounds great! Glad to hear you don't regret the purchase. Mine is still in the mail, a few days away, but I'm excited. I kinda went the reverse from you: bought a relatively inexpensive microbrand (Baltic) as my first Automatic soon after getting into watches and have been wearing that every day for the past year. I like it, but feel sorry for it now when I look at it since it's about to be usurped. :\

    I have the blue dial version, my rotor is quiet to me, but I’ve had years in a mill and duck hunting so my hearing is not the best. It’s bang on -3 to 0 per day no matter what so it’s definitely accurate within COSC. I have the bracelet version, but it looks good on a leather strap, I often switch them out. Great review!

    • @watch_please
      @watch_please  Год назад

      Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Maybe the rotor on this particular watch is louder than others but it is pretty loud compared to most watches I have had my hands on (which is strange since the case is solid so you would think that would dampen it). In either case, that doesn’t make me think this watch is anything but spectacular at the price point!

      You could try it on leather strap, the lug to lug isn’t huge without the solid end links of the bracelet. The GMT bezel makes the face appear tighter (than a dress piece at same size) but it is a full size case for sure

    Coincidentally - I've tried it yesterday. Both bracelet and strap iterations (blue dial). The AD had green version too - but I'm between blue and black dials. Anyway - after seeing it online, in person the watch is very nice. One critique - case edges seem sharp, but my main issue is the metal bracelet. It just feels light and cheap. The provided leather strap is also kind of rough, but the whole watch looks better with a leather strap. I guess a nicer leather strap would compliment it nicely. Still - it's a true GMT, COSC certified... and the dial is just great, applied elements....

    • @watch_please
      @watch_please  Год назад +4

      Nice! I could see this watch looking great on a leather strap as well. Thought the bracelet was pretty good other than the clasp. Definitely seen chunkier bracelets that feel cheaper but definitely a personal thing. At the end of the day they can’t make it as good as a $6k watch otherwise they would charge $6k for it so there needs to be trade offs. The fact that is has what it has at $3k is pretty sweet. Thanks for watching!

    • @strelnikoff7

      @@watch_please Indeed. It can take rustic leather strap, as well as much more polished "alligator" type... I can even see it on synthetic canvas strap. With respect to the price - bang for the buck - it's excellent ! In fact, I don't even think that price factors in until - paying for it :) versus Tudor BB GMT or something like that. I'm waiting to see/try Formex (new GMT) - then I'll pull the plug.

    7:32 shows clearly what was criticised by some and not even mentioned in your video... The date beeing not in the middle of the date window but rather shifted slightly to the left, like the datewheel is not alligned... Especially very ugly when it shows 2 digits... I´m a Longines fanboy, but I would take a test on this topic if this was my watch - paying over 3k´s and having such a flaw doesn´t fly I guess. So you all interested in this watch pay attention to this, heard there are models with no flaws whatsoever but I wouldn´t take like 50/50 on the quality of a 3k´s watch... And yes, it is overhyped and unfortunately for me to say, NOT worth it. But everybody will decide in their own of course. Talking about specs of a watch makes you not an expert sir, the informations from your video are unfortunately not much of a help and also can be read on the longines homepage.
