She plays in her own league, Scott. I mean she does all these covers by the greatest players on the planet and she's either right there with all of them or ahead. I mean she'll go off and do her own thing like Steve Vai's piece there and its better than his (or I think it is). I mean she absolutely RIPS that thing! You know at the speed that she plays you'd kinda think she'd miss a note here and there but she doesn't! I downloaded and made a CD atta ALL her covers. People hear it and they ask me WTF??

I do realize that she went to school but there are other very young YTers who went to school and kept making videos after their homework was done. It's not like she COULD NOT, it's likely that she DID NOT WANT TO which is totally understandable considering how bad it got, so no judgment from me. Totally sucks because of her pure potential that we won't get to see fulfilled.

So, I've watched this video many, many times. Somtimes I pay attention only to her left or right hand, or sometimes just her face. If you watch closely, you'll see her make a "scrunchy" face. That means she hit a bad note or made a slight mistake here and there. Not that any of us would notice......don't get me wrong, I soooo love and respect her, for years.....just saying............
@@athel10 Often times a musician will grimace to physically express an emotion that he/she feels from the song itself. Rock guitarists are especially known to do this while playing, sometimes to access. I'm not saying that you are wrong, just putting forth another alternative for the grimace.

I agree.. Carlie you need to do both of these. I recognize Vai as being probably the greatest guitarist alive today but tell you what Tina is right there with him. Toward the end of his "For the life of God" Tina goes off a bit on her own & tell you what blows Steve away with it. He later stated its the best cover of his work that he's ever seen. Herman Li says the same thing. I mean neither of these great players have a thing on Tina. and yeah what I really like? She's very obviously a girl. Even though she has changed after coming back to us she's still very obviously female all the way. Sure she just turned 25 you don't stay a "kid" forever.
She's been criticized by viewers for not showing any emotion in her face, but what people don't realize is that not all people are like that and plus, it's rather obvious that Tina S. is an individual of extreme focus, commitment and discipline... Her emotion shines through her fingers...
I for one hope that she is alright and comes back one day to RUclips...

Tina S's band, SPIN TWICE no longer exists ! Since June 2023 Tina has no longer produced anything, only 3 songs with the group Spin Twice. The singer and the musicians left. Singer Thomas Smagghe returned to his old band CHASING DAISY, without Tina S, and released a new song and video on RUclips : CHEWBACCA.

Beethoven would have loved this! He was a rebel. In his day, piano music was methodical and played for the elite at parties where they could waltz to the rhythm. This would have been like showing up at the waltz and playing "Purple Haze". .. Which would have been great to see! 😎👍.

Well said, good reaction. Yes a French prodigy, 17 in this video in 2016. . Some consider her the best. Classically trained since 6, switched to electric at 13. Last social media post was in 2018. Pretty much disappeared since then except she registered one person company in Nov/Dec 2020. A lot of speculation, most say she went to University, but no hard evidence. Welcome to Tina addiction !

Tina S is one if not the most talented guitar players ever. What I find amazing is she was playing like that as a teenager.
She has been classically trained since she was a child. She was taught by the fantastic French Guitarist Renaud Louis-Servais.
Yes she's definitely born with it. She is insane and she makes it look so easy.
Tina S is recognized as one of the best guitarists in the world. She is a prodigy. Another great young female guitarist is Babysaster. She also plays covers and classical guitar. She even composes her own music. You should check her out when you're finished with Tina S.

I think what floors me about this cover is that there are multiple points where she's playing and she'll spend an extended period of time not even looking at the fretboard as she's going off. That's some absolutely insane muscle memory and it's jaw-dropping to watch. I personally think my favorite cover of hers is Steve Vai's "For The Love of God", but she's absolutely incredible here too.

I was getting cramps in my fingers just watching her. I wish she still made videos.
Beethoven would have a hard time hearing her, since by the time he was midway through his career he was deaf. But he would be fascinated by the way her fingers glided across the fretboard. A few of his masterpieces were written after he became deaf. She and a few other women should be held as idols for today's youth, but don't hold your breath. Great review, thank you.
I really like what you said about looking up to pure talent like Tina, and that a girl who plays guitar doesn't have to show off her body to get clicks or anything. Hard work counts, not tricks to hide shortcomings.

I read a comment by a guitar player why said that after several years of dedicating his life to mastering the guitar, after watching her play this, he has finally found the motivation to pursue a career in accounting.
Personally I think Beethoven was the greatest composer that ever lived. And Tina does him proud. I mean, how do you get that good? It's not just her playing, but the composition itself is pure brilliance.
How do you get that good? You're born with a very special gift a Savant gift, that's what. You can't teach what this girl does.

There is no 'checking her up' because she clearly does not want to be checked on. Any attempt to do so would be a violation of her personal privacy, which is AT THE VERY LEAST UNETHINCAL, and could actually be ILLEGAL.
Just because she has not published anything with her name on it, does not mean she could not have ever written anything. It is ENTIRELY POSSIBLE that she COULD have already or that she may in the future. If she did write but didn't publish, it could be stuck in some private journal in a storage unit for all that anybody knows.
There are many kinds of genius. She is obviously GREAT with guitar playing and so she is musical to at least some extent. Music affects the mind in ways that normal speech does not. You can look that up or ask anybody who knows a single thing about psychology.
TRY telling more people about everybody else when you can really only answer for yourself. You make yourself look like a fool for this dumb post of yours.

Congrats on 60K girl! While Moonlight Sonata is a tour-de-force, my favorite Tina S solo is her Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb Solo Cover. Tina was only 15 years old at the time. Astounding talent!
I have watched scores of people and their take on Tina. You, however, are the first to say how Tina is someone to look up to for aspiring young ladies and girls. Thank you for pointing that out. I believe Moonlight Sonata is her best cover. If you want to see her most moving cover, please watch Stephen Vie’s for the love of God.
I wonder what Steve really thought about her cover? Now I consider him the best player in the world... BUT Tina gives him a serious, VERY serious run when she goes off on her own a bit toward the end there and absolutely RIPS it. He's gotta be thinking like what I was thinking "Are you kidding me?".
I fully agree with you: showing off your body means your guitar skills are not enough to attract the attention you are looking for. Tina S is way beyond that level, no need to show off her body or make the guitar loop around her head or anything, her talent and skills speak louder than anything else. The beauty is in the music and I can't get enough of it.
Definitely an example for aspiring artists, who are not race horses so difficult to say what is the best (is it even relevant?), but after watching all the versions of that sonata I could find, no other guitar player comes close to Tina's level of beauty.

I've seen this video countless times and by far my favorite part is the last couple frames after she's done playing and she looks up at whoever's in the room and you can just see her eyes *blow up* with energy because she's *so* pumped by the run through, but then almost as quickly remembers to calm down again so that they can turn off the camera before she goes nuts over her performance.
It's *thaaaaat* feeling that's 10x more potent than the strongest drug that has artists, true artists, do what they do, and it's why everyone else loves art so much, because we get to be able to taste just the tiniest amount of that through their work

On Tina video cover she respect and mention the original and Dr Viossy name. When you listen to the original version and know anything about music it's easy to hear Tina lacks dynamics and understanding what she is playing.

I've watched countless Tina S reaction videos and the average response has been dumbfounded speechlessness. Most of the time I've had to wait a full thirty seconds after the lightning speed guitar playing ceased before the reactor came to their senses enough to say something "brilliant" like, "Jeez, that was good wasn't it?" Actually, their silence spoke more eloquently about what they experienced than words ever could.
This is what I think happens to us while watching Tina S covers. Our brains begin to roast when 450 degrees of Tina S quadruple-speed guitar virtuosity is applied to them. We have to hit the stop button every thirty seconds to allow a cooling process to take place lest our brains sizzle out of control and melt.
Tina S is performing guitar shredding impossibilities right before our very eyes. Hence, our confusion. Tina S, in our minds, is just too dang young to be playing that good! The average person can't swallow the theory that practice alone got her to that level of amazingness. A gift from God? Probably. At least that's my view.
There have been two good Tina S reaction responses that caught my eye.
1. I think the "S" in Tina S stands for SPED UP!
2. "Watching Tina S play should be the easy part and her playing should be the hard part. But my experience was that watching her was the hard part because her playing appeared to be the easy part."
Weird. But true.
Afterthoughts.
Tina has been negatively accused of being emotionless while playing. Granted, she doesn't gush with emotion like your average rock guitarist but here are three reasons why she acts that way.
REASON 1. Tina S is NOT a rock guitarist. She's a classically trained guitarist. Notice how she has her guitar propped up on her left leg. Classical guitar style all the way. Classical guitarists are prim and proper and subdued on stage. Tina is probably mimicking the great classical guitarist Segovia's expression while playing not Angus Young's. By the way, Tina IS expressing emotion, it's literally pouring out of her instrument.
REASON 2. Tina is not performing on a rock stage with 30,000 lunatic fans expecting guitar virtuosity and gobs of emotion. She is performing in a simple studio with one cameraman as her audience. She doesn't need to perform rock star stunts like playing the guitar with her teeth, or setting it on fire, or biting off the heads of bats. She's just playing the damn thing! Better than anyone that I've ever seen.
REASON 3. The third reason why Tina isn't showing emotion is because what she's doing is easy. Yes, easy. How much emotion do you show while tying your shoe laces? Zero. Right? Why? Because tying your shoes is easy. You don't grimace and squint and bite your lower lip while tying your shoes because you don't need to and it would be weird if you did. Tina doesn't grimace and squint and bite her lower lip while shredding the guitar because she doesn't need to.
The end.
I couldn’t agree with you more and I will tell you why she doesn’t show almost no facial expressions cause she’s the one guitar player that you will see that her facial expressions and emotions go from her brain into her body through her fingers and onto the guitar that makes the noise Because I don’t know about you. I personally can feel her emotion through the guitar dislike when a singer sings, if they’re really good, you can hear their performance and the emotion through their voice same thing with Tina. You can hear her emotions through her guitar plain you don’t have to make facial expressions to be great , and she has absolutely mastered that for us.
So if you've ever heard the song "The devil went down to Georgia " Tina met the devil and played this and got 5 golden guitars and a free ticket to heaven.
Hi, Carlie. Your reaction to this Beethoven piece interests me so much that I would like to hear what you would say about any or all the covers performed by her. In my opinion, not only do I regard her as a prodigy, but much more importantly, I regard her as a master of the instrument.

I've probably watched this clip more than 100 times and I've watched tons of reactions. EVERYBODY is blown away by Tina S. She's extra extraordinary. Sadly ... I've recently heard that she passed away in a car accident. I hope that's not true but nobody has heard or seen her in years.

What I love is that it's music. Not just notes. Awesome.
She started playing at age 6 or 8 on the classical guitar. So she has all those years of lessons and many many thousands of hours of playing. She is the best I have ever heard.
Shes hitting about 8 notes a second... *on average* including the very "slow" parts.
Shes probably up to 16 or maybe even 20 notes a second in the faster registers.
Its god damn superhuman.

Her covers of "For the love of God" from Steve Vai and "The Loner" from (I think one of the most underrated guitarist) Gary Moore, are my favorite. All her over covers are insane too : "Master of Puppets" from Metallica, "Through the fire and flames" Dragonforce...

i have two daughters and why they're not into the music - selection, they are incredibly moves by Tina's talent. One daughter, an artist - painting - has been so inspired by the song and f the hard work, she as had took at Tina that she's my daughter deep into studies and practice in her own art. So It's incredible that she's driven in and practice to the be the best. that she can be Thanks for showing this and 'letting me pass it to her, we'll see, but I have high hopes that it rubs off.

For anyone who is interested, y'all should check out a young female guitarist from China who goes by the name YOYO. She is absolutely amazing! Both her talent and technique are mind bending, to say the least. Her cover of the Andy James piece, Angel Of Darkness, will set your brain on fire and was recorded when YOYO was only 9 years old. Tina S. is a real treat to watch/listen to, as well. Keep rockin' and stay heavy 🤘
I've seen every one of Tina's videos. And I still keep coming back, why? Because I think she's the best female guitarist I've have ever seen. I love the comment that girls who like modern music, where the artist is average but uses celebrity to their advantage should of course be listened to, but not as an inspiration. Tina S is what girls & boys should aspire to be if they want to stand above the current musicians. Even if they cannot reach Tina's level, they would certainly learn more from learning bits of Tina's playing. Then they could use these bits to go in their own direction. I'm 55, I've played for 43 years, I will never have the natural gift that Tina has. I know talent when I see it, but this talent extraordinary.

Tina covered Dragonforce's Through the Fire and Flames and Herman Li's jaw basically dropped to the floor haha. Supposedly Tina went back to school to learn more and further her career. Hopefully we see more of her in the future though.

From what I've read up about Tina and therefore from my understanding she started playing from the age of 6 and has received classical training from the get go. I'm sure I also read somewhere that her teacher is not only a French guitarist in his own right, but apparently he is a genius in his own right. Although, with respect to Tina I don't know that for sure. All I do know is that like everyone else, I know she is one incredibly talented musician.
Tina S is such an inspiring guitar player. She inspired me to pick up my guitar and throw it in the trash.

She's been playing since her acoustic guitar was physically bigger than her. She started playing classical acoustic. She is a legend. Hope she comes back with some mind blowers soon. She hasn't uploaded a new song in several years.

For the Love of God (you will never hear anything else like it), Altitudes (puts on her own inimitable & brilliant spin that will take you into outer space), The Loner (the loneliest Loner), but all of her stuff is good. You can go back to it a hundred times & it never get old. It's as close to magic as you can get.
Glad to hear from you again and see you commenting on Tina again. I hope that some day Tina starts letting us know more about her journey of the last several years. Would just be cool to know regardless if she puts out more content or not. That is kind of a lie as you know but I'm still going with that because most of us respect her that much. I'm not on Twitter anymore or any social media so you won't know who I am but I respect your continued dedication to keeping it real about Tina. Tina is an amazing example of what dedication and hideous amounts of practice can accomplish. Even at such a young age, her skills were well beyond most professional guitar players. I hope she's out there somewhere melting faces, and living the good life.

You are not wrong I am 80 and played the guitar since I was 14, so I take interest in other guitarist, and you are correct half the females look like they just came from working at a strip joint. Not Tina, no need to, she lets her guitar do the talking. Please do more of her, the comments give you suggestions or just go to her RUclips page and just take your pick, you will not be disappointed.
