  • It had to be done, the On Her Majesty’s Secret Service opening titles with Sean Connery!
I’m not the best at masking or colour correction but hopefully seeing Connery briefly helps the illusion! I decided not to use an alternate song and went with the classic title song.
Likewise I chose not to replace any of the other actors aside from Telly Savalas where I decided to use Donald Pleasance. I did add some returning cast members including Rik Van Nutter and Tetsurō Tamba as Felix Leiter and Tiger Tanaka who could potentially both be at the wedding (perhaps Felix could be at the hotel and casino with James near the beginning of the film too).
I also added Tsai Chin who played Ling in You Only Live Twice. I thought that she could be one of the Angels of Death, already working undercover without knowing that Blofeld is the main villain. She could aide James and either escape or be caught out and be killed (rather not the latter).
Aside from these things, nothing else has changed apart from tweaking the first part of the titles to include Saltzman and Broccoli presents (as this was used in the gunbarrel instead) and adding Connery’s name prior to the title.
I hope you all enjoy and thank you for your support!

Connery, the man who defined the 60s, should have closed out the decade with this great film.

At 0:16, if this were Roger Moore, he would be saying: "Goodbye, Countess."
or Timothy Dalton: "Whoever she was,
I must have scared The Living Daylights out of her."
They were both considered for OHMSS before the producers went with George Lazenby.

Roger Moore considered for ''The Man with the Golden Gun'' in Cambodia. Any actor here should have said: ''This never happened to the other movies''.

Very good well done. Would of been interesting to see Connery in a On Her Majestys type story but I can't picture any other Bond actor in OHMSS, Lazenby helps make the film as good as it is.

Thank you, to be honest there aren’t many things that I would change in any Bond film, even the highly contentious things! They make their respective films unique!

Brilliant. I wouldn’t want OHMSS without George tbh, but this was a great what if.
Seeing Connery’s name front and centre on the screen made a chill go up my spine. Dalton is my favourite, but Connery was Bond, period, totally inseparable.

Adding Felix and TIger in was a nice touch. ;)

*Been made aware that I spelt Donald Pleasence’s name incorrectly, very annoying that I made that mistake. Hopefully there aren’t any other spelling errors!

Maybe, in another universe, Connery no longer wanted anything to do with 007

Thanks, I just don’t think it feels like it could be a Bond theme, especially for this particular film. As nice as the song is!

    This should’ve been a reality.
Had Sean Connery stayed, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service would’ve been a critical and financial smash hit film. In terms of being the highest-grossing James Bond film of the 60s, I say it would’ve made over $200 million worldwide, outranking Goldfinger by $40 million and [the piece of shit joke] You Only Live Twice by $89 million.
Sean Connery, given the fact he can convince us in every role he does as the straightforward method character actor he is, would be the talk of having either an Oscar, BAFTA and/or Golden Globe years before his Oscar win for “The Untouchables”. Not to mention his Bond being the subject of “if he cries, we all cry”. His would’ve been spectacular performance as James Bond (in addition to staying in extremely good shape with his enthusiasm showing) will make us forget about the previous films he did (except for Dr No and From Russia With Love) to show the Ian Fleming colours of the Bond character from the books.
His chemistry with Diana Rigg as Tracy is a wasted opportunity to showcase the two from two different spy franchises (as Rigg was known for appearing in The Avengers - NOT the Marvel stuff!) being a great pair. Hearing Connery say “we have all the time in the world” would make my heart warm and break when he says it again later. When Bond and Tracy get on really cute with each other, I’d just gush seeing Connery and Rigg being cute with each other - move over Twilight!
Although realistically if Donald Pleasance says no, Telly Savalas would still be cast as Spectre chairman Ernst Blofeld before reappearing in Diamonds are Forever instead of Charles Gray recasting him. Tetsuro Tamba making a cameo as Japanese secret service agent Tiger Tanaka would’ve been a complete surprise to us thinking if YOLT was non-canon due to Blofeld’s recast and few other reasons.
David Hedison would succeed Rik van Nutter as Felix Leiter in the few Bond films featuring Hedison as Bond’s CIA-affiliated American counterpart that are none other than Diamonds are Forever, Live and Let Die, A View to a Kill, Living Daylights, Licence to Kill and a better version of Die Another Day.
Speaking of Diamonds, had Peter Hunt directed the 00-Punisher and Licence to Kill equivalent of Diamonds are Forever (the same movie yet the closest that we would get to a proper cinematic adaptation of You Only Live Twice/the OG On Her Majesty’s Part 2 with aspects of The Man With The Golden Gun/the OG On Her Majesty’s Part 3), Connery would show a much better performance than the Guy Hamilton-directed pantomime goofy joke of a Bond film by being a more tough-as-nails, brutal and more psychologically broken shell of the superspy we thought he was due to his wifey’s death that Bond had to endure. The lyrics of Shirley Bassey’s Diamonds are Forever song really reflect on how Bond is in a dark place than ever before with his denialism being a reflection of the moment his wifey died. The entire plot of Diamonds from start to finish would be Bond out for revenge against Blofeld with the diamond smuggling operation plot being used as secondary plot/backdrop - Jack and Serafimo Spang (the American Kray Twins) would be the ones running the show on Blofeld’s payroll, the Spang twins would also be revealed as long-time enemies of Marc-Ange Draco.
Tiffany Case (still played by Jill St John) will be the same Tiffany Case from the Diamonds are Forever book but grows later on as a supportive ally to Bond in his quest for vengeance, helping him learn to let go of his loss when the time comes. She even would be present seeing Bond laying down batch of roses at his wifey Tracy’s tombstone (something Bond would do again years later for For Your Eyes Only - either with Roger Moore/70s Bond in his 5th appearance or Timothy Dalton starting his tenure as the 80s Bond from that movie until Licence to Kill).
Diamonds are Forever would still make the same amount of money worldwide: $111 million, the reviews would be positive then and positive now (unlike the film we’ve got as it’s widely panned in our present times) and the 1971 B-movie competition between that film against Dirty Harry, Straw Dogs, The French Connection and Shaft would be and always will be extremely high. Similar to what would happen to Batman Returns years later, Diamonds because of that move would generate controversy for the violence being brutal, realistic and life-threatening, even for the slightly adult scary darker tone - no wonder why Live and Let Die was slightly goofy in a way lmao
I give anything to live in a world where Sean Connery stayed and did On Her Majesty’s and a much better version of Diamonds are Forever. Shame he never got to finish his tenure on his own terms. Even more of a real shame that Peter Hunt didn’t bother his ass calling Connery back!
P.S. Sean Connery as James Bond 007 sporting his Scots kilt tuxedo in Piz Gloria would make the chicks from Scotland scream! Lmao the addition of Ling (from YOLT) of the Japanese secret service working undercover as one of the “Angels of Death” in Piz Gloria to get intel for Tanaka about Blofeld’s evil plan fits well with the film’s plot.

I agree that this should’ve been a reality. But ''On Her Majesty's Secret Service'', though would have been more successful with Connery, about $20 million more ($102 million worldwide), would be down from ''You Only Live Twice''.

    • @p0ppyfarr95
      @p0ppyfarr95 16 часов назад

@@user-xp2gm8im2c tbh, I don’t see On Her Majesty’s making $102 dollars if it had Connery in it. The guy’s far too popular for the film to be a flop alongside YOLT. The positive reviews from test screenings and the premiere would’ve generated more box office earnings worldwide
What do ya think of Sean Connery doing a 00-Punisher/Licence to Kill version of Diamonds are Forever directed by Peter Hunt?
