So Ronnie is the GOAT but I don't think he even deserved all of his 8 titles I think he should only have 7 titles because Gunter beat Ronnie in 2002. And in 2001 I would have had Jay winning but Ronnie blew Jay away from the back so it was pretty close in 2001 too. As for 2006 it was Jay all day.

Ronnie was that good, even with a torn/atrophied lat he could have arguably taken this one. It wasn't just the lat, his left arm was noticeably smaller as well, and even his left delt & upper trap were off balance compared to his right side in certain poses. I think the judges just felt it was Jay's time, and Ronnie was on the way out. And, looking at what Ronnie brought in 2007, they were right.

Ronnie showed up to the finals MUCH harder and more conditioned. Maybe one of the most dramatic changes from prejudging to finals I've ever seen. I think the finals version of ronnie in 2006 was good enough to beat jay.

If there’s 1 pose that improves for Ronnie as he aged….. side tricep 🙊🙊 it’s still not great don’t get me wrong and his tricep still sucks - if his size has him filling out the rest of the pose far better than his earlier years in my humble. Again it’s still not a strong pose but I think he sucks way less here than say 2000 or something
