Phil Heath, one of the greatest body builders of all time and a seven-time winner of Mr. Olympia joins The Pivot in a special Friday conversation talking his journey into fitness and performance as well his personal struggles along the way.
Sitting down with Ryan, Fred and Channing, Phil details his path from his childhood dream of being a professional athlete to wrestling to finding his calling as a bodybuilder. But a lot of success didn’t come without a lot of struggle. Overcoming mental health issues and loss, Phil turned his setbacks into motivation and explains how he was able to make peace after suffering emotional disappointments.
And no show would be complete without Channing being able to ask the questions we all want to know but wouldn’t dare say out loud!
Tune in to this special Friday conversation at 3p est with episode streaming on RUclips, Spotify and Apple podcasts

After my consult, I sat alone, heard nothing. Im still here and Im better for it. His story makes me appreciate what he has done even more.

This makes a lot of sense now. Phil came into an EOS gym in Gilbert, AZ during busiest time. It didn’t take long for those to realize it was him. He could barely train without ppl interrupting. He smiled, took pics, and never broke stride. That shit was really impressive and him speaking makes way more sense now.

I'm glad when people talk about their experiences with suicide. My situation wasn't that I didn't hear anything, it was just a lot of noise in my head that wasn't real. My loved ones that I was preparing to leave were being checked off in my head until my son showed up. At that moment, everything came to a slamming hault and I came back to reality. It was noisy af in my head, but in reality, there was no sound at all. It was deathly quiet. At that moment, I realized I had to make A LOT of changes. BTW, I never comtemplated suicide. The pain got so intense and the decision was made out of no where. Its a literal psychotic break created by pain, depression and hopelessness.

Western Australia, March 2014. Phil’s doing a meet and greet signing at a Supps store. Line is around the corner. Supp store says, you buy, skip the line. I don’t. I’m there for Phil. Time is up, signing should be over. I’m still in line. 2hrs later, Phil is still there. I get to meet him, shake hands and have a photo. I thank him for staying. He THANKS me for waiting. That was my piece of Phil, and he didn’t leave me hanging (42:20). Ever grateful Phil, thank you.

You need a Channing on this kind of show with the seriousness of some of the questions to bring that laughter and comical aspects to it. He is a real fool and it’s needed… much respect to all u brothers and the great content you put out💯💯💯💯
