Other people cook...but Rachael's pleasant personality, calm presence and attention to detail win my heart. I could watch her all day. Shes the friend or neighbor we all wish we had.
I used to have a neighbor like her when I was in my 20s. She was in her 60s. I’d drop by after lunch and we’d cook all afternoon. She was an excellent cook and taught me a lot. She was a lot of fun to spend time with. When I watch Rachel, it reminds me of those afternoons cooking, though Rachel is much younger than my neighbor was.
I am 88 and taught cooking for 8 years. My grandson, a chef, taught me a neat trick for making cabbage rolls. Freeze the cabbage first. Thaw, take out the core. Leaves fall off the head and are already wilted.
I am of Polish descent, you are amazing Rachel! We core the cabbage, slow boil il to remove all the cabbage leaves. I also boil rice set aside set asid. My meat mixture that my Polish mother did consisted of two eggs 2 pounds of ground beef, salt and pepper, softly, sautéed onion,Gently peel the cabbage leaves as they are slowly cooking cut any cores that seem tough. We always used whole tomatoes and juice at least three cans. The large ones chop them with a knife. Use all the juice also add one can of tomato soup mix thoroughly add salt and pepper set aside once all filling is wrapped tightly and all the cabbage rolls, tightly placed them in a large baking roaster with lid . Pour t tomato mixture all over the cabbage rolls put extra cabbage leaves all over the top cover and bake at 350 Degrees for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Served with butter, potatoes or mashed potatoes.always comes out delicious.
Your 3/4 cooked rice comment reminded me of a childhood memory. My mother's cousin was a newcomer to this country. Born and raised in Belgium, she escaped the Nazi deathcamps to settle in the U.S. after living in Israel for a number of years. Well, her first year living here in the United States, she told my mother and my mother's sister that she would make Thanksgiving dinner for our families. However, not knowing the American traditional custom of serving turkey, dressing, pumpkin pie, etc., she decided to serve cabbage rolls. Only, they were not like your cabbage rolls... not by a long shot. For one thing, she threw the rice into her meat without cooking it first. The rice was so hard, it tasted like pellets and crunched with every bite! So, as little kids often do... I was brutally honest about my disappointment. I whispered to my mother, who was sitting across the table from me, "This is the WORST Thanksgiving I ever had!" Of course, my mother didn't wish to hurt her cousin's feelings, so she gave me a swift kick from underneath the table! Funny that I look back at this one Thanksgiving today as perhaps the one I remember most... not for the horrible cabbage rolls, but out of fondness for the woman making them. Making these cabbage rolls was, in fact, a testament to this woman's strength and will to survive the unimaginable horrors of the death camps, to journey halfway around the world, and cook a meal for her remaining relatives in a new land.
My Father's Mother has a similar story. Nearly all of her family were murdered but she traveled from Belgium to the US (New Jersey, of course!). But I'm told she was an excellent cook. I never met her as she died just before I was born. Am Yisrael Chai!
Rachel - I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you, your style, and loving heart. We grew up on cabbage rolls. My beautiful late Mother came from a Polish family (her maiden name ended in 'ski') and they KNEW how to make their cabbage rolls. My Dad's family came from old school Russia - they were also Extremely PROUD of their cabbage rolls. My husband, however, is from a Hungarian heritage on his father's side. ALL of these family heritages were absolutely PROUD of their cabbage rolls. For me, I lost my beautiful mother when I was just 17 years old. She LOVED to cook and loved us so so much. I cannot tell you how much she would have enjoyed you and your easy-going style of cooking. I feel like she is reaching out to me through you and teaching me what I didn't have the chance to learn from her. I know that sounds cheezy and hopeful; but, I'm convinced she is reaching out to me through YOU. May God Bless you and your family. Thank you for helping me through the loss of my beautiful loving mother. I'm 54 and, to this day, I miss her SO much. Thank you, Rachel.
Rachel I am true- blue Slovak. I never made cabbage rolls but my mom mother- in-law and my Aunt Ruthie. My Aunt would make them for parties and always make me My own little batch. Watching you cut the core of the cabbage n then later removing that little core from each leaf made me want to make them. At this time if my life all of my family is gone but I appreciate that I finally saw how you make cabbage rolls in Slovakia we called them halopki. Thank you and God bless
What a wonderful comment! I'm so sorry you lost your Mother at such a young age 😔. Of course she is watching down on you and she's loving Rachel teaching you these recipes! Take care love 💘
Hi Kar.. I'm so sorry you lost your Mom at 17... My Mom passed last year at 83.. I miss her tremendously.. I'm 65.. She loved making "Gravel Trucks".. that's what she called cabbage rolls.. bless you :)
My mom learned from my dad's mother. Her family was Romanian n grandpa was Austrian. My mom's cabbage rolls were my favorite meal. I miss my mom too n her cooking 😁💞
I’ve rewatched this so many times. When my husband was alive we had cabbage rolls at least once a month. Our folks were German/Polish they were a staple. Makes me miss my Grams. Thank you Rachael. Your Ron is a lucky man! I watch you all the time. You are a great cook!
Dearest Rachel~ I’ve been spoiled for much of my life with an Italian, home-made macaroni making mom. My beautiful mom departed 5 years ago. As a result, I am new at cooking - and in my early 60’s. No news that there are countless folks on RUclips who display their cooking talents and delicious dishes but I must tell you, Rachel, that watching your videos inspires me beyond the proper words to express. Your cleanliness is evident, and a super+ in my book! I love you for that alone… Your ability to take us step-by-step is just perfect. Thank you so very much, Rachel. With tears in my eyes - thank you.
Your comment made my day, it’s almost impossible to keep up with all my comments throughout my channel, but I try my best…it’s comments like yours that keep me trying to keep up, words mean a lot to me, and I’m sure some beautiful ones get away, I’m so glad yours didn’t. Thank you so much my friend.❤️
@@rachelcookswithlove I would imagine how impossible reading all of your comments would be. I knew that 8 months ago when I wrote the previous comment. That sentiment was meant only to be thrown up to the heavens - for any angel to catch, and for my mom to know that she left me in good hands by discovering you…
@@fifteenthfretI think you and Rachel are beautiful people and I loved reading your comments. I wish we could all join Rachel and break bread together. Happy 2023 🎊 ❤
So glad I found this recipe of yours. Your sauce looks delicious. I've made cabbage rolls many times, but my sauce isn't always the greatest. My mom would put some dill seed or dill weed in meat. It is delicious as well. Can't wait to make some again 😊. Love your channel.
You make the impossible seem easy! You are well spoken, kind, very organized and you make me want to cook! And I’ll bet your Ron is a lucky guy! Come on food network! This lady is awesome!
@@bellablue6292 Agreed!! To often, Networks are thinking of profits in sharing a percentage of the host's original ideas as well as that cut of the host's work. RUclips makes it possible for individual to grow excellent programing with the host's paying far less per month than to Networks, plus the host's have control. More satisfaction, & far more fun!! Once I get my kitchen back, this will be the first new dish I try. It looks scrumptious!! Thanks so much for the delightful lesson! 💜😊☺️🥰😉😃😍😂❤️ Sherrill Smith
No. Food Network would ruin this wonderful woman. And just love her kitchens. They aren't big, but we'll organized and well stocked with pots, pans and utensils
Food networks became game shows. She's a home cook who loves what she's doing in the most organized of ways. She's perfect at home & gets right to the point of her cooking. Love her.
Rachel love your channel. My mom is slovak and she makes really good halupki. A little tip for you to make them xtra special is- at the very end of your dish after the final saucing you thinly slice a little extra onion and spread it over the top then you put a few strips of raw bacon on top of the onion slices then cover and bake as usual. That extra bit of onion and bacon adds such I nice flavor to the tomato sauce. Try it you’ll love the result, I promise.
I just saw your post. Your mother is from Slavic neighborhood, and our cooking might be slightly different, but we learn from one another. My golomki sauce and maple bacon pieces on top of my golompki are close to your mother's recipe. Take care, bless you.
My mother was a banquet cook for over 20 years. Cabbage rolls were made for nearly every meal in an ethnic hall. She made the rolls with a little ground beef, ground pork or sometimes veal., with lots of rice in a big roast pan over 200-300 at a time. Covered with a mixture of tomato soup and tomato juice. Cooked for many hours ... delicious.
Mom was an outstanding cook from Poland. I make her cabbage rolls and even though I love Rachel ‘s cabbage rolls. My mom’s recipe takes half the time and is oh my God it’s so good. When I make those cabbage rolls and any of my windows are open I do get calls from neighbors asking,” can you make some for me-“? I always do. Rachelle is a wonderful cook, too. 🎉
I just love this woman. I can watch her for hours at a time her recipes are delishes . Her voice is so comforting. Keep the recipes coming Rachel. Thankyou
Very yummy Rachael, I love watching u, your heart is in your cooking, I'm 77 and I still have a passion for cooking. So keep going, I really appreciate your show. Thank u so much!!!❤❤
My mom made her cabbage rolls with the meat mixture. She layed them in the pan and topped them with well drained sauerkraut. She covered the sauerkraut with a layer of ketchup and baked. I know it sounds weird but they are so delicious. The tangy from the kraut mixed with the sweet from the ketchup just takes them to a whole new level. She would make cabbage rolls, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes and hot rolls and they were always a hit.
I put my rolls on top of a bed of drained sauerkraut ( I use a brand called Franks sweet) then put my tomato sauce over all. I always serve it with mashed potatoes too!
@@dotsheleheda410 so, did you make it with sauerkraut? My mom is Ukrainian as well. How did your husband like them. If he liked them, well I guess I'll try it and make some for my mother. Thank you.
This was one of my mom's rotation dishes. I had stuffed cabbage growing up and it was always a favorite. She always used tomato soup in the sauce. I really wish I would have asked her to write her recipes down but at the time those things did not seem important. Things are rarely as they seem! Thank you so much for sharing your recipes. I will definitely try this one.
My mom was born in Pennsylvania, adopted and raised in Mercer County, PA. She was a wonderful cook. I love watching your channel because you cook a lot of the recipes she used to cook. You bring back many wonderful memories. Then, my husband of 49 years, is Hispanic, so, you also cook a lot of the recipes he was raised on. You are covering both of my worlds. I really appreciate your suggestions for side dishes to serve with each recipe. You inspire me to get back in the kitchen and make more memories for my own girls and my grandkids. Thank you for all you do! Please give my best to “your Ron.” I’m sure he is a big part of your hard work! Maybe some day you will introduce him to all us fans.
😊 I came across your video a few months ago. You are my kind of cook, you make you food neat and mot just thrown carelessly in the dishes. You voice is nice and sweet easy to understand and a cute accent ❤ cabbage rolls are my favorite. My mom used to make them. But she said its a lot of work. You make it look so easy. Thank you for great video.
I love every recipe of yours I've made for my family. Each one has hit superior & to the top of our rotation. Good that my rotation is monthly & seasonal. Your love for cooking is admiral, thank you for sharing your delicious creations!
I am Slovak, Russian, Ukrainian and Polish. Watching you seems to be closest to what my mom used to do. The only thing is, I think she used 2 types of meat, pork and beef. I haven't had any of these for a number of years. Thanks for sharing your recipe. Your recipe seems the closest to the one my mom (slovak)❤❤❤❤❤
This video brought back so many memories of my childhood. My grandmother made cabbage rolls every holiday. We called them hulupche, she didn’t use meat for her filling. She sautéed onions to a nice golden sweet taste, then added partially cooked rice. She’d fill the bottom of the roasting pan with boiled cabbage leaves, fill up the pan with the cabbage rolls, add 2 Tbs of vinegar, dot the top with lots of butter. She’d cover the top of the rolls with more cabbage leaves. They’d cook in her roaster for 90 minutes or more. There would be 50 + for Thanksgiving or Christmas at Grandmas, she never ran out of her delicious Polish food. My daughter makes them, as well do lots of cousins, 4 generations cooking Grandma’s food. You are a fantastic teacher! Thank you.
Oh Rachel! My mouth was watering after watching you make the cabbage rolls. I have to make them real soon. I love them. The only thing I would do differently would be to put some sauerkraut on top of them. I always rinse off the sauerkraut to get some of that brine off but you want some of it too. It is really good like that. My Mom was Hungarian and that is how she always made it. I really enjoy your videos. I could sit all day and watch them. Take care , my friend, and keep those videos coming!! ❤😋😁
I absolutely love your videos!! I made your meatloaf, and loved it!! I want to make the bread. You are so easy to understand, Rachel. I have a daughter named Rachel. I also love your kitchen! Everything is so close!! Thank You so much!! You are really amazing!! ❤️
You are such an inspiration! My boyfriend laughs, since finding you on RUclips i’m watching your videos constantly!. I watch you in the morning with my coffee, I watch you during the day as I have my tea and snuggle my pups, and then I watch you at night as I’m about to go to sleep. Your cooking, your voice, and your characteristics are so soothing and you’re such a pleasure to watch. You make us feel at home, like we’re in the kitchen with you, full of love as you cook. Thank you for all your videos!
Hi Rachel, made your stuffed cabbage recipe and let me say it was a big hit. DELICIOUS. I'll be making them more often. You are amazing and your recipes are out of this world.
You make it almost the same exact way I do!!! You are an amazing cook! This is real cooking.. I grew up with a sicilian grandmother that told me how to cook and my mother was from Scotland. I've learned a lot of different things from both.. I am a chef by trade. I do comfort foods with a twist... I love watching your videos Rachael! Different ethnic backgrounds but we cook very similar. You are single-handedly the only Cooks I have seen online that I've use the recipes and love them! I've tried different things with other people but it never comes out right. You really do know how to cook beautiful
Hello again Rachel. I enjoy your cooking advice very much; and even after 55 years cooking for a family of four, I never fail to learn something new and helpful from you. I am new to your show and am so happy I found you! Keep sharing your cooking expertise with us. May God continue to bless you and your Ron.
Hi Rachel.. Her mom teaches & like me I stoped working at 72..had no time to teach my own daughter.(always working 2 jobs) so just watching you makes me know it never to late..so when I go see her & roomates.. I will enjoy starting to teach her to cook ...you have given me confidence again..God Bless you & ur family..lv nana...
Will share w my daughters . Enjoyed every bit of your instructions. Can't wait to try it..I've cooked it before always looking for new ideas and add to..Thanks Again
I want to come to your house. You are a good teacher. I actually was in a food service class at school for 4 years. I am 67 years old however all the different kitchens I cooked in over the years At my age I learned more in the short time watching you then what I did in my classes. Thank You Rachel ♥️
Cabbage rolls are my all time favorites! I grew up eating cabbage rolls! If you haven’t had them before, you must try it. Your recipe for the rolls are perfect. Thank you for sharing and inspiring us all 🙂🙂
From one Rachel to another, thank you for this recipe! You explain things exactly the same way my Mom did when she was teaching me this recipe and many other ones, right down to your accent. "Just like that!". She said it and so do I whenever I explain anything. Sometimes she taught me the recipes in Spanish. It made studying the language in school so easy. Poor Dad didn't understand but he certainly enjoyed the results. Mashed potatoes in our house,, too. These cabbage rolls are delicious! Since I like them a little spicy, I add a small amount of red pepper flakes in with the garlic and onion. I can't say Worcestershire either. It's thst "brown stuff" or the "L & P sauce" from Mom's favorite brand. Keep the recipes coming!!
Rachael, I just found you!! I fixed these cabbage rolls for St. Patricks Day and OMG!!!! I'm 75 and have cooked for 60 years and these are the BEST I have EVER made. Please make the recipes printable if you can. I keep my favs in a notebook to pass on to my DIL. TFS
Dear Rachel, you are my newest celebrity cook to watch! Love the way you present a recipe and tell us not to worry. Thank you for you great recipes! Happy Cooking! 😊
Hi Rachel! I don’t know why it took me so long to find your videos, but now I’m obsessed with watching them. You seem like such an excellent home cook - I love the way you explain things so slowly & exactly…you make me feel confident that I will be able to make them too! I watched you make cabbage rolls a few times before I had the courage to try making them, but today was the day! I have them in the oven now…so I haven’t tasted them, but they look great! I think we will love them.
I hope they were delicious my friend, I'm sorry for such a late response, but it's hard to catch up sometimes. I appreciate your support of my channel. ❤️
My grandmother( French Canadian) made the best cabbage rolls! Her secret ingredient was chopped raw bacon on top while baking😋, her sauce was made with canned tomato soup. She also put some frozen peas and sliced carrots on top while baking. Your version looks delicious Rachel but Grandmaman ‘s will never be topped, she put all her love into them for her family❤️, thank you for all your delicious recipes , I feel like I’m right in the kitchen with you😊
Interesting, I'm in Canada and I didn't realize French Canadians made this dish as well, I consider it Slavic, made mostly by those of Eastern European ancestry.
I’m going to be 79 and I’m so grateful for everything in my life. I have been watching you for about 6 months. I have learned so much. You explain everything so well. Very easy to follow the recipe. Just wanted to let you know that I’m Jewish faith we call it stuffed cabbage. I’m to buy the meat and everything else make it soon. Then I will put into the freezer and keep it till I need it for the next holiday. It’s been a pleasure enjoying your resumes . Have a good day stay healthy and well. 👍👵grandma
My mom, sister and I made about 100 of these and put them in the freezer. We wrapped them in 6-8 pieces and added some sauce. They were fine to use later and never got freezer burned and so nice if you had a busy day. Your recipe would be good for stuffed peppers too.
Can you please tell me what you wrapped them in to freeze? Did you use freezer bags or a container? I don't want them to get freezer burned and not sure how to wrap them. Thank you.
Your channel is addictive. I love watching you cook. No distracting music, or anything. It's like attending a cooking class, I save them so my granddaughter can watch if she wants to cook and I'm not here. She is 17.
These look fantastic! I'm of German descent, so I love cabbage rolls more than any other food. Many years ago, I made them and had the idea to add to the top of them sauerkraut and bacon before baking. Oh, y'all! You would not believe how amazing they were! This video stirred my desire to make them again.
Great recipe. Just like my mom's. What she used to do with that extra part of the cabbage is chop it up very fine add some chopped carrots and put it in the bottom of the casserole just like you did with the extra leaves. That way we had extra cabbage with are cabbage rolls and sauce. And we always had mashed. The sauce Is good on top of them too.
3:29 almost my and my late mommas Aggies recipe Use lemon juice instead of cider vinegar Will try it next time. Always make it sweet and sour like my meat balls. I use can tomato soup and fresh chopped tomatoes or canned whatever I have. I try to have fresh Challah to dunk in sauce as my adult kids always loved it. I use to make mini rolls for cocktail parties but who makes cocktail parties anymore? Not my friends😢I still cook. They make reservations 🥰Thank you so much You are terrific❤️At times I have to use toothpicks to hold them together 😂
I stumbled across your recipe and OMG these are the best cabbage rolls I have ever made. The way you explained your techniques on your meat not being too tight and also on how to roll into cabbage leaves was phenomenal. My husband greatly loved his meal as well as his friend, thank you for sharing with us. I am forever a subscriber to you. Thank you.
Rachel, I have made Cabbage Rolls twice in my lifetime & they were too difficult to make that I would not try again. The directions I used in the past (long time ago) did not explain how to do any of the things you show in your video. You are AMAZING on how you explain each detail and to me this is a BIG plus. I got so hungry watching you show each step of cooking these that I was wishing I was there with you to sample them. I am going to try your way of making them because you make it look so easy. Thank you so much for not only your ideas but also your patience in showing all of us how it should be done easier but perfect. I WANT A BITE.😀🎼
I finally tried it and it was delicious, everyone loved it. I also baked sweet and spicy cornbread and roasted garlic mashed potatoes and used the extra sauce to put over the potatoes. Fantastic meal 😋 Thank you 😊
Dear Rachel, yesterday was the one year anniversary of my husband going home to Heaven. Cabbage rolls were his very favorite food. I wanted to see if your recipe was close to mine. A few differences but mostly the same. Your calm and pleasant demeanor make you a natural for RUclips. I subscribed and will follow you. Thank you.
I've been making these for 30+ years and I use same ingredients for my sauce as you except I use red wine vinegar because it's what I always seem to have handy! I love the sweet & slightly sour taste of these. I also have learned over the years when I'm in the mood for cabbage rolls hut only have a partial head of cabbage or I want something quicker, I make the sauce, cook my meat and add to the sauce add my chopped cabbage and 3-4 cups beef broth and let simmer about a half hour or until the cabbage is soft. I then add my rice (completely cooked) and just simmer to meld the flavors and we have a wonderful cabbage soup with fresh bread and butter.
That sounds so good and much easier to throw together. I'm 85 and my hands don't work so good anymore but I still like to cook everything I eat from scratch. My hubby is gone so it's just me.
These are just the way my mom and grandma made with a little twist. I am glad they taught me but I will try yours sometime I just made some. So next month I'll make some more and this is little different. Thank you for the inspiration.
Oh, my goodness....3:55 am and I can’t turn your video off! You are so much like my Home Ec. teacher in high school...you are a wonderful teacher. Even though I have probably been cooking a lot longer than you have, and was a professional chef, I just love watching and listening to you cook. Your explanations are very informative. Always so interesting...thank you, Rachael.
Rachel makes it look so easy! I tried to make cabbage rolls when I first got married and they didn't turn out good at all - so never made them since (that was 1981). I think I'll try it again and follow Rachel's recipe and tips & tricks!! Sometimes it's the little things that make it work!! Thanks Rachel!!
I add a pinch of nutmeg to mine. It gives that little something extra that is always so delicious. I love your videos Rachel. You are lovely to watch, and the food you prepare always looks so delicious.
I’ve been cooking for 60+ years and I love cabbage rolls but sometimes it’s nice to find someone to remind how wonderful they are and how easy they are to make thank you so much looking forward to watching your next video
I haven't made cabbage rolls in over 20 years. I make them a bit different and add a layer of saurkraut between the layers when I do them in the big roasting pan. It melds all of the flavours together. I also serve with sour cream. I'm going to give your recipe a try. They freeze wonderfully, too. I enjoyed your show. Thank-you
Oh my! Never thought I would be able to make these but after this excellent lesson, with all the details, I can't wait to make them. Thank you so much. Love your calm sweet manner.
OMG Rachel, I could watch you cook all day. My husband loves cabbage rolls, but I have never made them bc I thought the recipe that his Mother gave me was a little complicated. Yours seems so much more achievable without fretting too much about it. Looks delicious!
Rachel, you're food always looks so tasty. I can almost smell the aroma. This cabbage roll recipe reminds me of my mother's. Mashed potatoes are definitely the perfect pairing! One thing my mom did that you may consider trying, if you like sauerkraut, is adding it to the sauce under the rolls. It's really good.🤗 You, dear lady, are an excellent teacher!
This was very thorough and comfortable to watch. This sounds like a good recipe. My aunt never used a recipe and every time I made it tasted different. We'll be having it in a week. Thank you.
I just love watching you cook. I had these cabbage rolls for the first time about a month ago and loved it. Thanks to you making this video now I can make it for my family. Looks so delicious.
I came across this recipe- had never made these before. They were delicious! I love the way Rachel explains her recipes. She is right that next day they are amazing tasting. Thanks for great recipe❤

You remind me so much of my late my Puerto Rican grandma I just made refried beans the other day and I wasn't too happy with them so this has made my day thank you so much Rachel your blessing and I have subscribed to your account love Kelly
Absolutely love you Rachel! You are a beautiful breath of fresh air to the food network. I grew up on cabbage rolls along with many other ethnic dishes from my Polish, Jewish and Slovic heritage.

Now I’m in the mood for stuffed cabbage…I’ll make some this week. That’s how I like my tomato sauce in my cabbage rolls too…some use a can of tomato soup and I don’t like them that way.
Many years ago I worked at a jewelry store and the jeweler was from Israel. His mother was visiting and made us cabbage rolls. This was my first taste of cabbage rolls and I was impressed "how good" it tasted. I didn't get the recipe so I'll try yours. Thanks
I like to use chicken flavor Rice a Roni instead of plain rice . Like you I do exactly as your recipe other than that. A bottled sauce can be used if you want to speed up the process. So good .
Hi Rachel! I happened across your channel and absolutely love it. I was in shock when I saw that you were making cabbage rolls! My mother was German and we regularly had the most mouth watering rolls. I married a Mexican man, so at any time you can walk into my kitchen and grab a bratwurst with sauerkraut, or the next day Chile Colorado. I cannot wait to try some of your recipes; you are an amazing cook and I am now addicted to your channel. Thank you for sharing so many wonderful recipes!
In my family we cook these too!!! I grew up with my grandmother making them. We also ate mashed potatoes with them, but we ALWAYS had CORNBREAD too!! Try that sometime, it is perfection!!!
Hello Rachel, I just put a pan of your cabbage rolls in the oven and can't wait to enjoy them. The sauce is delishous so I'm sure cabbage rolls will be as well. I love your recipes and you are a wonderful cook. Keep them coming 😊
Comfort food! Delicious. Thank you for the tutorial. I cooked them from memory and it was almost exactly like you do them. We love them with mashed potatoes too.
I love your personality! When you prepare the food, I can imagine myself doing that and how I might add this or that along the way. What I like most is that you are paying attention to what you are doing and what is happening with the food. No wasted movements.

Thank you. I was looking for my old recipe from many years ago while in high school home economics class. One of my projects was making cabbage rolls for a dinner. If I remember correctly, I made stuffed baked potato with them. I love mashed potatoes though. My favorite. My family requested them many times after that. I’m 67 now. I’m going to make these as they look delicious!
My dad used to make this for us when We were kid's, I totally loved them. Haven't had this over 25 year's since my dad passed.. these are breath taken. I always wanted to make them but I never took the time to watch my dad. . But your recipe looks so good. I love my dad , don't get mad dad, but Rachel recipe looks 100% delicious. This is dinner tonight thanks Rachel 🥰
These cabbage rolls look so delicious. My mother used to make them very similar to your recipe. The only difference was she added paprika to her meat and a little bit of sauerkraut on top. She always served them with mashed potatoes, too. Thank you for sharing your recipe. I love your videos and have learned so much from you. God bless you and your Ron.
These cabbage rolls are something my husband will love. Definitely will have to make them. I just love your videos, thank you Rachel for all you put into them. I have made some of your lovely aprons, my girls laughed but then I showed them your videos..... now they can see why I love watching you.
I am almost 77. I use to love to cook cabbage rolls for my family. You just gave me some pointers on things I have forgotten . Thank you. Looks yummy. Maybe I'll make them after Christmas and share them with my friends here in the senior tower.
I'm from Pittsburgh and this area has many Polish/Slovak communities. Stuffed Cabbage is called Gulumpki. 😋 It's a staple in the "Burgh"! Your recipe is exactly the way I make mine! The brown sugar and apple cider Vinegar is so essential for that unique flavor that everyone loves! You a wonderful "home" cook and I have many of your recipes saved to try.
I’ve been making these for over 50 years, when I was dating my late husband, his mother taught me. Now that I’m alone, I make a large batch and freeze them.
It looks so.good !!! I would've never thought to use the cabbage leaves to use like tortia,s im excited n gonna make my 1st batch for dinner;) love cabbage 😋 do u know any other ideals besides this one to make with the cabbage leaves?
Other people cook...but Rachael's pleasant personality, calm presence and attention to detail win my heart. I could watch her all day. Shes the friend or neighbor we all wish we had.
Ok
That is the absolute truth. I just love listening to her! She is the neighbor you want to have morning coffee with. Lol
Yes definitely ❤😊
Thank you so much for your sweet comment my friend. ❤
Cool - have to try that!
Very clever 👍💕
I always did that 😉
try mine please ruclips.net/video/QAIL_9QSVNY/видео.html, thank you

Wonderful❤️💯
What is the charge?
😊 I'm French & we make Cabbage Rolls the same exact way!
Bless your family! Thank you for sharing this touching family story!
Very awesome story. They probably did what they could to survive.
Sweet, sweet story! I will pray for the many
Hahahahaha...I enjoyed reading this...hahaha how funny..thank you for sharing your story....so hilarious...hahahaha...❤️💙🙏👍

Love your videos. Have made many of your recipes. BUT that noise from the stove, that the food is supposedly making has to go. Very distracting.
Fan noise!!
It's still a staple dish in Poland 😁
Dearest Rachel~
I’ve been spoiled for much of my life with an Italian, home-made macaroni making mom.
My beautiful mom departed 5 years ago. As a result, I am new at cooking - and in my early 60’s.
No news that there are countless folks on RUclips who display their cooking talents and delicious dishes
but I must tell you, Rachel, that watching your videos inspires me beyond the proper words to express.
Your cleanliness is evident, and a super+ in my book! I love you for that alone…
Your ability to take us step-by-step is just perfect.
Wow - that is an awesome tip - kinda like the fusion of cabbage with bacon. DEFinitely trying that.
I just saw your post. Your mother is from Slavic neighborhood, and our cooking might be slightly different, but we learn from one another. My golomki sauce and maple bacon pieces on top of my golompki are close to your mother's recipe. Take care, bless you.

THAT I have to try. Bacon and cabbage are made for each other.
I make mine exactly like hers but also add bacon placed over cabbage rolls before baking. I feel it really adds that smokey ham taste to the dish.
Cooked for many hours ... delicious.

Thank you so much for your comment, you can do it my friend. ❤️👍

Thank you.

Ooo I like the addition of vinegar! I'ma try 2 Tbls. apple cider vinegar with mine. 🤗👍

Oh Rachel! My mouth was watering after watching you make the cabbage rolls. I have to make them real soon. I love them. The only thing I would do differently would be to put some sauerkraut on top of them. I always rinse off the sauerkraut to get some of that brine off but you want some of it too. Is good on top of them too.

God I've tried to do this- never saw anyone else do it- and once again- everything made so clear!! Amazing how Rachel knows how to instruct!

I’ve been cooking for 60+ years and I love cabbage rolls but sometimes it’s nice to find someone to remind how wonderful they are and how easy they are to make thank you so much looking forward to watching your next video
Hello Mary how are you doing today? I agree with you
I haven't made cabbage rolls in over 20 years. I make them a bit different and add a layer of saurkraut between the layers when I do them in the big roasting pan. It melds all of the flavours together. I also serve with sour cream. I'm going to give your recipe a try. They freeze wonderfully, too. I enjoyed your show. Thank-you
I love watching you Rachael. You’re so calm and explain everything so well. I could listen to your voice all day. Very calming and relaxing to me.
Watching You Cook is like watching my Mom and Grandma and 6 Aunties plus tons of Cousins! Thank You!
❤️
Oh my! Never thought I would be able to make these but after this excellent lesson, with all the details, I can't wait to make them. Thank you so much. Love your calm sweet manner.
YOU ARE A GOOD TEACHER, I ALWAYS ENJOY YOUR COOKING VIDEOS!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
I was think parmesan cheese would be good, what do you think?
Rachel, your recipes are always on point! Thank you for all you do and congrats for your new home!
This was very thorough and comfortable to watch. This sounds like a good recipe. My aunt never used a recipe and every time I made it tasted different. We'll be having it in a week. Thank you.

I’ve lived in the north side of Chicago near a polish community most of my life. My mom’s close friend was polish and she would make these for us! Ur recipe is spot on! Now I want to make em for my family. Thank you for sharing

You remind me so much of my late my Puerto Rican grandma I just made refried beans the other day and I wasn't too happy with them so this has made my day thank you so much Rachel your blessing and I have subscribed to your account love Kelly
Dawn Montiel - I'll bet the Polish lady called them halupkis
Definitely not a polish recipe. Sauce and filling are different. But this still may be tasty.🙂
Absolutely love you Rachel! You are a beautiful breath of fresh air to the food network. I grew up on cabbage rolls along with many other ethnic dishes from my Polish, Jewish and Slovic heritage.
I was planning to make cabbage rolls this week. I'm glad I found you doing them. It's 8:40 pm here in Ogden Utah and watching you make them, it made me hungry! Thank you for sharing! ❤️💜💙💚💛❤️
❤⚘👍
Love love love cabbage rolls. I can locate where the recipe is located. I would like to print it out so I can make these. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Now I’m in the mood for stuffed cabbage…I’ll make some this week. That’s how I like my tomato sauce in my cabbage rolls too…some use a can of tomato soup and I don’t like them that way.
No Canned Tomato Soup!
Many years ago I worked at a jewelry store and the jeweler was from Israel. His mother was visiting and made us cabbage rolls. This was my first taste of cabbage rolls and I was impressed "how good" it tasted. I didn't get the recipe so I'll try yours. Thanks
Just found you. Thanks for reminding me of the dishes we enjoyed in our youth, learned to make as adults and pass on to our children and grandchildren.
I like to use chicken flavor Rice a Roni instead of plain rice . Like you I do exactly as your recipe other than that. A bottled sauce can be used if you want to speed up the process. So good .
I could eat those cabbage rolls every day. Great job. 🙋♀️♥️♥️
Thank you so much for sharing my friend, I'm so glad you enjoy my channel, blessings. ❤
I love cabbage rolls. Love your video.❤😊
Such a sweet lady. A true chef. Gives cooking directions thorough. Il love her personality 😂
Thank you so much for that ❤️❤️
Thank you, Rachel, your presentation and hints are so helpful! We had these when I was growing up in Akron, Ohio... Definitely a comfort food...

They are one of those old fashion delicious foods for dinner .
Yes, I agree.❤
My mother made these when I was growing up. I’ve never made them but after watching you, I’m going to give it a try. Looks so delicious !

I love your recipes and the down to earth way that you present your dishes❤.
Yummy!! Your moms recipe sounds delicious. Thank you my friend.❤

We call it huiki.
Cabbage rolls are delicious. I make a casserole because I’m lazy.
