Don’t see many Jeep Commandos on the road. I just purchased a 72 today. I will be watching all your videos. Look forward to see how you proceed with the build.
Congrats on the '72. I don't think I've ever seen another Commando on the road around here. A few CJ's and the occasional Grand Wagoneer, but no Commandos. The old jeep still has a long way to go but it's better than it was. Hope you enjoy the videos.
Wow, welding will be a large part of the restoration. Don’t bother trying to save the tail gate. There are good used ones and after market ones out there
Yeah that'll definitely be a large part of it. It certainly has less rust than the one or two other Commandos I've seen around here but it's not great.
Do you have video of the vac canister located on the fire wall when facing the jeep it will be on the left side. I noticed you have it in service and I wanted to know what hoses you used and where they connect to?
Unfortunately mine is not actually hooked up... There is one line that runs back to the gas tank that is hooked up but the rest are just kind of there doing nothing... I think the top of the canister has a little label embossed in the top near each port but it's really hard to see on mine and most of them are worn down...
I'm holding off buying parts right now because of the title issues but kind of you to offer. Best of luck on the body swap. That sounds like an awesome project!

I now own one myself, I’d love to compare notes with you as my project takes off!
