It's crazy how far so many random Chinese hobby grade cars have come. There's so many great options now. The nice thing is you can get a crawler like this to help decide if you want to spend more on a higher end model from one of the big mainstream companies (Traxxas, Axial, Arrma, Losi etc)

More of a soft body these days 😂 Yeah I like it's design, think it can take a lot more and is easier to work on compared to the fiddly WPL's
That's a sweet little truck. It really sticks when it climbs. There were a few times I thought Number 1 was going to take a number 2, but he pulled through. He did roll through it though. 😅

That little thing is fantastic looking. Even better than the WPL style crawlers and for around the same price! Except it's quite larger. Super impressed! I can't believe it survived salt water, that's probably because Will Riker is just the best 1st officer ever.
He's Number 1 of Number 2 on this voyage 😅 It's a pretty impressive little rig for sure and a good stop gap for thinner wallets after xmas 😄
@@disciplinerc I want one! Crawlers are fun, totally different RC experience and skill set from bashing or racing. I like watching people negotiate a complicated crawler course, it's suspenseful.

This looks awesome. Love the flat gearbox design. I have a wpl c24 that is at the same price point and that low hanging gearbox really takes away from what the overall performance could be

I dig it bro! My new PFP is my MN99S. I wanted the blue body like yours, but it was too long of a wait and 2x the cost of the Amazon version. I paid in the long run because the ESC is fried now, so she needs new guts to be functional again. What got my passion ignited again was a simple cat toy RC 😆 the little mice they sell at Hobby Lobby.. now I'm pushing 80mph with the TT02 and looking at 100 with a parts swap over to the AK 917 roller. Editing skills are improving for my rally videos too. Crazy where this hobby may take you! All the best!

Mine is in parts on the bench, shot all the black black and all the chrome parts too, probably shoot body color tonight.. I swore off MN when I got their loose fj/bj45 a while back and pretty much did nothing with it... Great video as always. Love from the south sound 🤙🇺🇸

Bruh those skies are beautiful 😍Every edit i'm just in awe. I might need to plan a visit to my canadian family i have up there. Great video and love the car! If i were to buy a crawler i would def look into this, seems like it does most basic things that crawlers should do, it's metal, AND the details are pretty cool as well! By the way, are leaf springs + coil shocks a normal setup? I'd think you could 'leaf' out the coil springs when you have leaf springs; only need the damper right?
10/10 for the pun sir! But yes, I think I'll play around with the rear geometry. It's a great truck and with some minor tweaks will be even better
lol what a review in comparison to Tomley's hahahaha, subbed, I received red one yesterday and beige onw today for the little one, already swapped for metal gears and blue led deleted the remote lol, installed a jelly bean green on the side, much better visibility with the lower voltage of NiMhs

I believe it shares the same 280 motor and trans as the MN78. Metal adapter plate and 370 upgrade motor should work. I'll let you know when I get mine.
I think so too, the transmission is different as far as I can tell so far. Will be digging into it very soon 👍

Imagine just how many more sales they would make if done in standard scales for RC and just for the bodies alone to sacrifice the running gear, why they are doing odd scales has me scratching my head everytime I see guy's like you reviewing them
Yes please, cheap hard body 1/10's all the way. They did a 1/10 awhile back but they thought too hard and changed up the design concepts too much. Just scaling these parts up a notch would be all they need 🤘🤘

Anyways, remove those friction shocks in the back and leave the leaf springs alone. The back is a bit too stiff.

Yep, one thing that made me feel strange when I saw this RC was the bent chassis between the cabin and the rear bed. Happens because the chassis is made of plastic, but other than that it's very good... I'll get it later.

Do you know what size or where I can buy extra screws for the wheel? Mine came without one and wheel just falls off the axle.
You should be able to measure up and source some from Amazon quickly. They are pretty common in toy cars etc. you can even pull one out of the body and use it

Yes, it's a pretty basic setup typical to other MN's
I saw Phil removed the coils out of the rear. I wonder what would happen if you removed the leaf springs and just went with the coils 🤔🤔 I assume the rear axle would walk everywhere with nothing to really keep it centered

Trying to decide between getting 2 of these or just a FMS LC80 or TRAXXAS TRX-4M. Part of me likes the idea of getting the MN & upgrading it. Hmmm.
These are cheap fun but the FMS is so much better in every way if you are going to spend the money. Way better than the TRX4M as well and very upgradeable. 👍

@@paulv8453 although the Axial started it all, they are really REALLY fiddly to work on and modify. They use smaller hardware, 1mm .7mm etc, and to fasten and it strips out easily. Parts aren't interchangeable either with FMS/Traxxas. FMS and Traxxas use 1.5 and 2mm hex hardware which is way more common, making the parts bigger and more robust 👍

Looks like the Truck have enough torque for decent crawling! I have order some slightly bigger wheels and metal axels but my Truck is still on the way from china i hope so ha ha! As a Land Cruiser fan its a must have Truck ha ha! Do you have a link for a driver that fit?
It's better than a WPL that's for sure. The upgrade path also looks more streamlined as well. As for Commander Poop Tires, I don't have a link. He was under 5" tall, but his legs needed to go 😅

Do you know that there is a "low speed" for crawling over stones ? Just press the TH rate button on the remote. Driving will look better when slower and not bouncing around with full speed.
Yep, I covered that around the 4:14 mark. It does look better, but I liked it on high speed too 😁
