It's not a waste if you know you're going to instantly upgrade everything and have factored in all the cost. I just ordered an MN82 and I have already ordered a 370 motor portal axles ac280 to 370 motor conversion ring metal rims and tires and an all metal linking rods set. I learned my lesson that I am going to have to upgrade instantly if I want the best performance out of these cars. I only have 1 1/10 scale car and every part for it costs 4 times as much as what I could pay for some of these WPL and MN parts. So it's a good deal all around if you get into this hobby, knowing you're going to have to spend a little money.
I buy these for the bodies, the rtrs MN or Wpl are below par but good for kids for a bit, but for not much money you can really make them capable and fun, but it’s a lot of fiddling to get everything fitted and working smoothly but I enjoy it.
I could've bought this truck only if it has opening doors and if it's compatible with 12mm wheel hexes for more versatility but sadly it's not, so I choose to get the MN128 instead and no regrets.
Cool cat video! Seriously though. Not a bad little truck for the price. I have two MN78s which I think would play nicely alongside this model. And there are plenty of things you can do to upgrade them. It's basically an inexpensive jumping off point for someone new to the hobby.
I think it's probably a bit better. Suspension and transmission both. I'm currently waiting on a metal gear set, 370 motor, and adapter plate to upgrade the MN78s I have on my channel. Once I have an MN 82 in hand I'll see how easy it is to drop the MN78 transmission into that. @@turksandjerps
"Remoter Control Max Speed" is my new channel. In all honesty, i was not aware how much paint you use on the tail lamps. Maybe this is why mine never come oput so glossy....that or I do not have a cat helping.
Too late I’ve already taken it and I’ll sue you. Yeah, I go heavy with the clear paint especially if it’s textured inside. If it’s smooth I’ll do lighter coats on each side.
I can see one potential crowd for this: the 1/14 scale construction guys. We'll probably see these bodies on other chassies driving with the other equipment soon.
@@turksandjerps Oh, wouldn't we all... I also like to look at the best 1/14 trucks, like Scaleart. I'm not kidding when I say that you could buy a used, but full sized truck for a little bit more.
WPL and MN have some pretty sweet bodies, the mechanics though, not very good. But they can be made good. I have a decased HW1060 and better motor going in one of my WPLs along with the metal axles and driveshafts.
To be honest, i like the body but I'm not really sureabout the rest. Especially that block of ice attached to the controller! 🤔 Take care and hug your cat! 😉
Man dont tell me its worse then wpl. Not that wpl is necessarily bad but i consider it the gate keeper of hobby grade rigs. If its any worse then wpl its a toy. Unfortunately ive wasted the same $52 lol mine should be here today or tomorrow
Congrats on your new investment. After driving this yesterday I’m going to put them on the same level. These are cheaper than a New Bright and can actually do some things and are able to be upgraded.
@@turksandjerps Hi in the middle and round on both ends. Well, THAT makes sense. Sorry, I thought you were from Indianner. I've driven through both a lot going back and forth from IL to VT. I'm actually in Ill Noise now. We're practically not even neighbors! Had to move back perma-temporarily to do the caregiver thing for my elderly mother. How do you like those windshield wipers? Nice detail, huh?
Comes with that Carolina squat I see. I wish these companies would start making these models in 1/10ish scale. I just can’t get into these small scale trucks.
If you accept MN and WPL for what they are, cheap RC cars? Then no, you haven't wasted your money. If you want better quality, then spend more money of FCS or HSP or similar branded rock crawlers. Have seen HSP crawlers for under 200(eBay) in Australia. The MN82 sells for between 90 and 130 on eBay here, depending on the seller. I have found MN to be a little better than WPL for steering control and power to weight ratio. Although the MN99s was lacking in power with its little 130 motor. Then, that one is based on the Landrover Defender, which were under powered anyway! 😂
No you didn't. MN82 LC79 is the best rc car land cruiser for it price. Man you didn't believe. I bought mine for only $24 and the performance really really great for the price 😃
Point taken, this is the only chunky chrome bumper I know of. From the pics I have seen, the lc79 bumper is chunky. Maybe I should try to find a flatter one for departure angle.
@@toddanderson1506 If I still had this truck I'd see how the Chevy bumper looked for you but I got rid of it. However, this model of Land Cruiser doesn't come with a rear bumper from the factory just like in the olden days.

Thanks for the video. When I saw your IG post I was convinced this was a climbing car.
It's remnoter climber, similar but very different
Nice presentation. This car looks awesome. Performance's due to the prize and material. But I like it
Yes, for the money it's a good value.

Understandable. I didn't know that particular model even existed!
@@turksandjerps Actually the MN128 is the best model that the MN brand has to offer, it's 1/12 but feels like 1/10 scale

No, not a bad little truck at all for the price. I’d like to try the MN78 which I’m sure isn’t much different than this but I have some ideas.

Very disobedient vehicle

Good luck!
Great video! So would you say its the same scale as the fms fj45? Its bigger though, right?
If I recall that is also 1/14th so yes they are close
The problem of the MN82 is the steering angle being to short, couple of upgrades could fix that

i would argue that MN is better than WPL when it comes to quality. Their plastics are better, fit and finish are better.
