They are not “influencers” they are narcissists. Period!
Oh nice where did you get your medical degree, doctor?
@@T1k213 Medical doctors don't diagnose personality disorders, psychiatrists do. But you do need a medical degree to become a psychiatrist. So, your insult was partially correct.
Amen to that brother I do agree with you 100%
Joey Swoll should have been interviewed for this.
Definitely! I’m surprised they didn’t include him
It was likely lazy research.
Nah, he’s a steroid user and narcissist
@@lyinbobbycottonseedmind your own business
That’s what I was thinking!
Some of these women are filming in the locker room. They should be arrested.
It’s so bad at my gym that I no longer get dressed in the locker room.
There's videos of young men doing the same thing in the locker room. Both need to be arrested.
Men are doing it too.
I don’t think these influencers should be allowed to film in gyms. It’s violating, rude, inconsiderate and disrespectful toward others who pay to be there and use the gym. Especially when they act entitled and get mad someone walks in front of their cameras or uses a machine close by. Like get over yourself.
This is the kind of thing Joey Swoll is fighting to change: the toxic atmosphere these gym influencers cause.
How is Joey Swoll not part of this story?
He’s a steroid user and he does what he does mostly to get attention for himself as a “good guy”
Absolutely! That's why I film all my RUclips and Instagram content in my personal home gym studio. This way, I can share information without disturbing anyone else-just me and my viewers! 😂
All influencers are ruining everything.
there is a BIG difference between filming for influencer status and people filming for critiquing their form while performing specific movements to check if they are doing them right and targeting the correct muscles (i.e. olympic lifting)
true. I sometimes film myself on the pool while swimming because I wanna see my form so I can correct my mistakes. Same thing for running on the treadmill. I try to put my camera in an angle that nobody is in the background as much as possible tho or they're less visible especially in the pool ( I don't wanna look like a creep taking videos of people on swim suits)
How is this even a question? Ban recording in gyms!
💯 💯 💯
Joey Swoll should have been interviewed.
No. He’s a steroid user and narcissist
I'm so glad I have a home gym.
Same.
It’s pulling up to the gym with tripods that throws me off. I remember seeing this kid have his tripod out while exercising and I almost left 😂
the gyms should start enforcing it not just putting a sign that nobody cares or make rules and let them know when signing up
Do it after hours with no one around. It’s not all about you!
Yes, they are! I have been working out for 12 years, and I dislike anyone recording.
Influencers are ruining the life experience, period
Ban camera in gyms.
They should’ve talked about the “gym creeps” being called out for clout
How is Joey Swoll not mentioned in this piece? 🤯
He’s a steroid user and narcissist

I go to the gym every day and my workout has never been impacted by people making videos. If you're a regular gymgoer, you know the people causing the problems are the ones who get on equipment, do one set, and then sit on their phone for 5-10 minutes, turning what should be a 7-minute routine into a 20-minute one and preventing serious people from using the equipment. If you're only filming yourself at the gym, have at it. If you're filming others or you're filming yourself doing something outrageous to get views (eg that one random woman who went to the gym wearing a painted bodysuit), no.
I agree in part. I find it infuriating when people are filming and have a whole tripod setup blocking everyone’s way. It makes me uncomfortable when people film and I have to move to not be in the background, or cameras in changing rooms. However if people film in an empty corner of the gym and are considerate of others, then I don’t care.
You’re definitely right about peoples generally awful gym etiquette as often this is worse than someone filming. People who leave personal belongings for ages on multiple pieces of equiptment. You don’t need 5+ benches/machines/racks all at once. When people do their sets at the rack instead of taking the dumbbells to a bench, you’re just getting in everyone’s way and blocking the mirror when people want to watch their form. Where I am, it’s almost always big wannabe-bros who think they run the place but only do half reps and have awful form.
so tired of gymfluencers! no one cares that youre taking a video at the gym. leave your phone in the locker and actually use the floor to work out.
I just wish people would stop calling them “influencers”🙄
People acting like “their journeys” are unique and they just HAVE to share with the world 😂😂😂
This has been going on for awhile lots of people have been tired of this ish 😅
Please fix the audio
It’s not just influencers, it’s the people on the phone just sitting there or the people that’s stand around and talk and the hygiene part people with a lot of cologne and perfume.
These videos look like bragging done by self-serving exhibitionists rather than instructional media. Gyms should be more about folks of varied ages who are aiming to improve their health, not show off.
What’s with the audio?
Hello?! NO AUDIO!
The gym is not a studio. The "self filmer" needs to pay for facilities if they want to film/
yes. for the same reason you have to ask for permission from people to use footage of them for something that will gain you benefits, they should have to seek out every single person in their video for permission.
Honestly, No tripods and keep your shirt on. I feel like that’s not too much to ask
This is why I work out at home. I avoid all of this.
your audio on your clips are all over the place, only coming from one speaker since yesterdays clips
0:29 it doesn’t matter if it’s ok with you or not, and no one has to ask you. You’re in a public setting. People filming don’t have to ask your permission to film you. However, they do have to abide by the rules of the proprietor of the building you are in
It's kind of a pain going to the gym and trying to avoid the folks recording themselves. Yet , if they are respectful of others, I'm ok for the most part.
if you are staying to set up a makeshift studio.. nope.., gots to go.
and zero filming in the locker rooms
Filming in gyms is creepy
Do it on times like midnight and early mornings where no one is around especially in non mainstream gyms or do it at home or elsewhere that's not the gym
Yes. They ARE ruining the gym experience. That's why I fulyl support workouts AT HOME. 🏡 💪🏽🎧 It's free and no worries for strangers asking you if your "done" with that machine. No worries about being "accused" of looking at someone. I see nothing but a bunch of attention seeking narcissists making excuses to influence people by filming themselves working out. Its bull crap and its for their own recognition. 🙄
What crack me up is them so called “influencers, pts etc.” on instagram be trying to show people how to do simples things and their form isn’t even correct. One girl boasted about being a trainer and she couldn’t even do a shoulder press correctly. I commented that she was doing it wrong and she blocked me 😅💀
We need to complain to staff EVERY SINGLE TIME. Even tell them, "Hey I'm going home early today because that person is filming" or let them know when you cancel your membership why you canceled. Sure they're not going to do much for one complaint but if enough people speak up and vote with their wallet, maybe we'll see some change. If it doesn't affect their bottom line, they're not going to care.
This is why I wont go to public gyms anymore and work out at home.
Pet peeves are too many high schoolers hogging machines while scrolling their phones. And since when are slides, crocks, and fluffy Ugg slippers proper workout apparel?
Go to the manager and pay to rent out the gym at a time when no one is there. You’re paying the staff to open a little earlier so you can film your content if you’re a real influencer.
I’m an athlete and yes 100%
Yes, ban all camera
What’s in the underwater audio is going 😂
Short answer, yes.
The saddest part of it all is that it’s an easy fix. The gym can say ‘no filming’. But most gyms are so self serving they don’t want to do or say anything. Luckily my gym doesn’t have this issue.
In a lot of gyms where I am, it’s often the personal trainers affiliated with the gym who do it. If the gym is benefitting from the free promotion, they’ll value that over what customers wants
What if trynna correct my form by filming ?
These influencers say help others but that’s BS they are just trying to get streams to get money. Get outta here with that BS. Let’s keep it real
Audio is messed up
Not sure that Crunch fitness instructor is a natural woman
*YES THEY ARE* Thank god my gym bans those types of people immediately. The owner which is an old school one despises those social stuff. It's a hardcore gym. Kinda like Dorian Yates and Coleman's gym with REAL weights. Not those sissy weights from Amazon
I’ve never experienced it but if I noticed someone filming me in the background without my permission, I’d just make the footage unusable 😂
Yikes
@@starmsjc don’t know what you’re thinking, I was thinking more like give the middle finger consistently so I would have to be blurred out or the footage wasn’t RUclips friendly
taking video at the gym....a whole lotta nope, nope, nope and nope
I'm interested in any of them (except for Caroline Jordan) and I workout from home.
Influencers have no respect for others. They film where they want, when they want, and they include whomever they want, whether you like it or not. Half the time their advice is garbage and just plain wrong. Gyms do NOT DO ENOUGH to protect their members from this. Influencers want to be able to "humiliate" someone because, truth is, they'll get more views. I personally canceled my gym membership because of this and now I train at home with a fitness coach. NOTE TO GYMS: set a time of day, or area, where filming is allowed. Let these influencers go crazy during those hours or in the "allowed filming area". You have to value ALL your clientele.
Emily meets her doppelganger 0:50
Yes
Easy answer: Yes
I’m so happy I mind my own business and that I don’t let what other people do bother me 😊 film away I DON’T CARE
Umm. Its against company policy
I'll vote for an ALL MENS GYM 🏋🏾♂️ 🏋🏾♂️ 🏋🏾♂️ No cameras or women allowed. Let it be like a gym for manhood and brotherhood uplifting. Take away the distractions and focus on getting stronger.
I've set up my home exercise area and will never go back to a gym. I simply don't feel comfortable with this new video movement in the gyms when tik tok has value more than my privacy.
1 no filming in locker rooms 2.Get the other than women humans out of the women’s locker room solves half of the problem.
This would’ve never happened had RUclips not been monetized. Gone are the days women would just stay in their lanes at the cardio equipment and go home. After they discovered they could make money uploading videos working out like guys have been, it opened Pandora’s box.
Honestly its a little lame to be bent out of shape about being in the background of someones video. I get it. Its narcissistic but why would posing in the gym be frowned upon? Thats crazy to me.
No
No filming. Period.
Don't come to my gym
Place to inplug? With tv screens and touch screens everywhere on walls and attached to equipment? What?
Film if you want, but cut the crap of getting upset when people talk in front of your camera. It's a public place.
Only the gymthots
They are motivating! I have found so much by watching them.
Get over it. People get mad over everything.
I mean, I like to record myself to evaluate my postures and document my progress. I have seen some very polite people asking for permission, and more often than not, people will get all jumpy about it as if the video is all about them in the background. Additionally, who likes to be disturbed when they are focused and working out? Some people really don't like to be interrupted, even more so for permission to be in the background of a video. So, it seems to me that in this scenario, it's better to say sorry if anyone complains and change your angle than asking for permission. This ways It's much less likely that anyone will complain and become a bother or a Karen about it.
Bs...!! Do pics at home
It’s fine. We look amazing, and want to help others look incredible. 💪🏽
Narcissistic behavior
@@andrewclark6618 I’m sorry. I don’t speak “average.”
The gym has a surveillance camera filming you. As soon as you step outside the gym there are security cameras filming you. If you dont want to be on cameras, don't leave the house. 🤷♂️
That's not the whole point. It's videos that will get posted on social media that could be without others permission.
@Casual_Talk most people recording are not influencers. Theyre simply recording for progress or form check purposes. If you suspect someone is an influencer then simply ask them to not upload your face to the web. If you're too nervous or feel like you shouldn't have to ask them then it wasn't that big of an issue to begin with.
I’ll answer it for everybody. Yes.
