Hi Markus. Your video is a real eye-opener. I wanted to create an online video course, and you have given me a huge head-start. Many THANKS for sharing. Great job and keep your engagement going. You've been doing a phenomenal job, thus far. Cheers.
Thank you for another great tutorial. If I use your method #2 (show in same window) or #3 (export from PowerPoint to individual images) can I use a wireless USB clicker to advance images in OBS like I would with PowerPoint?
Год назад
Yes that should be possible. In PowerPoint it should work natively, and for the third method you can set up custom keyboard shortcuts for the remote in OBS Studio.
Thank you a lot, Markus. You are a genuine educator; that was very clear and easy. I liked everything in OBS, but I have two issues. First, I have to be close to the PC for moving the slides/images. I am talking about the last option, and videos do not run. So, is there a way to use the PowerPoint remote control to change the slides through the OBS? And can the third option accommodate running videos?
6 месяцев назад
Yes, you can use a remote. The computer should see it as just a keyboard, so you can bind specific keys to the actions of next and previous image in the OBS Studio settings.
I use the last two methods you show. I like having control of images in OBS very much, but some of the presentations I run have animations, which are lost in png images. The window method works best for those, though you point out clearly what the limitation is.
2 года назад
Yes I think it's important to know the limitations and be able to choose the most appropriate solution.
Very well explained Markus. The last method sounds like the best. Now a bit "fuzzy" on having slides and transitioning to capturing steps in a program. Thank you. Happy Holidays Mort
I like the image solution as it is so much easier to control everything within OBS. However, if you have slides with "flying" bullet points this animation is lost when saving the ppt as an image file.
Anyway it could be adapted to my particular situation ? - some slides are animated - I'm on OBS while someone else is in front of the camera with a clicker. Cheers !
Great video, thanks. I'm a teacher and do a lot of online instruction. I would like to use the third method you showed but would also like to be able to use my mouse pointer during the presentation. Is there a way to do that?
Год назад+1
I haven't tried myself, but look for an OBS plugin that will allow you to show the pointer!
I prefer the third method because of the control. I'm not very tech-savvy, so it is great to be able to do it all within OBS and reduce the stress of holding a presentation.
Your video taught me how to use the 3rd method and I confidently gave my first OBS slide show presentation on Zoom---only to discover that this method seems to disable the cursor!!! How can I show slide shows in Zoom and have the cursor show up? I asked Zoom and they suggested I use Display Capture but that's not working for me. Help!

I don't think there's a way to do that natively. In my presentations I rely on describing what's relevant, and I almost never use a pointer.
Thanks a lot Markus. Please, you did not relate the tutorial to recording or streaming. At what point should one begin recording the presentation after converting the PPT to images?
I trying am find a way to project powerpoint in a church service and send it to OBS also. Using a IMAC. I have successfully made the connection to OBS but the problem is I have to switch back and forth between OBS and powerpoint to advance the slides and switch between scenes in OBS a camera and the power point. any suggestions. I'm considering adding another Mac just for powerpoint. Also your option 3 would not work because we use videos from time to time. Thanks

You can add video to scenes in OBS Studio, and switch between that scene and the scene with the slides. Or you can use another input device to control PPT, such a presentation remote.
I am afraid that the third method does not take slide animations in considerations. Also, what about PowerPoint presenter view. It is very useful but , unless I am wrong, it forces full screen slide show to appears. Otherwise your scenes are very elegant. 👍
Markus the problem I am facing is in slideshow method 3 is that those image slides are going random i.e. from 1st it is going on 11 slide. I have renamed them but still the same problem. Its going proper if only 9 slides are there but after 10 it is goin to random filles even after renaming. plz guide
Год назад+1
The method I use is to rename them A1, A2, A3 etc, then B1, B2, B3. Works pretty well!
I have a problem with OBS Slideshow. If i has put more images, OBS was crazy. It has played only first 5-6 images and looped it. Another slides didnt show. Can i have broken program?

There's a size limit in OBS's slide show feature. I always try to save images with a file size as small as possible. Unfortunately there's no warning about this, so it's not very obvious.
Let me suggest a way to use your second method (PPT show in window mode) and still have slide control while using OBS. You just use OBS NOT-IN-MAXIMIZE state and size down OBS window. Then you present your PPT in window mode and move it so you can see a small part of it next to OBS. Hovering (NOT CLICKING) on top of your presentation and using your mouse wheel, you can then navigate your slides while STILL have the OBS window in focus.

how to download this video conferencing? is it free sir?
@@hyperannatv3387 Yes, OBS Studio is free at obsproject.com/.
@ how about the scene collection?
47$? I thought you meant we could download for free. You should be more clear that we can “buy” it if we want.
if I buy it will it work for Mac? or windows only??
Nicely done, crisp, clean, no boring, senseless, talking, just good information presented in a clear way
Thanks for watching and for your kind words!
well obviously your scene collection is the best, I have never seen such a seamless and simple way of doing this.
Thank you! OBS Studio is very powerful!
the third method is quite impressive. thanks 🙂
Thnsks for this. Makes sense to do it yourway with only one screen for sure.
This was what I needed. But does your course only work for people using OBS on a Windows machine? I'm on a mac but like your templates, etc. Thanks.

The third solution was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Thank! You are very clear and detailed. I’m just stating w OBS and this is a big help. Your course looks great and reasonable price.
Thanks for watching!
I prefer the 3rd option but will master all 3...deepest thanks Sir! BEST!
Yes, learn OBS Studio! It's such a great tool.

Thank you.Third method is the best.
What I was looking for. Thanks
Awesome! Thanks for sharing! 😎🙏👍🏻
Awesome tutorial Markus! Many thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks for watching!
loved the video but is there a way to annotate the slide while presenting?
I use the last two methods you show. I like having control of images in OBS very much, but some of the presentations I run have animations, which are lost in png images. The window method works best for those, though you point out clearly what the limitation is.

Thank you so much. It helped a lot in adjusting screen cropping issues

Awesome tutor! Thank you very much.
Thanks for watching!
Good Stuff ! Thank you for these amazing tips !
I'm happy you got value from the tips!
Wich is the kind of transition? Very fluid!
The transition in OBS Studio is called Move. I like it a lot! Very easy to install, and very powerful.
Great and thanks for sharing! The only thing I experience in mode 3 that animations within the slide will not work.
Yes that's correct. They're just images.
Thank you so much Sir. I've learned so much. 😊
Thanks for watching!
Is there a way to show the speaker notes on the screen but not record them?
Thanks Sir i have benefited greately from this video. but however how do i record using the third option with my with my face in the video live?
Just add your camera in OBS Studio, resize it and hit record.
@ it worked thanks Sir.
Wow, thanks for the knowledge shared.. I'll try to apply it in our church sermons.
Thanks for watching!

Yes, that's a limitation of this method.

Awesome!1 Thank you so much.
Thanks for watching!
Anyway it could be adapted to my particular situation ?
- some slides are animated
- I'm on OBS while someone else is in front of the camera with a clicker.
Cheers !
Thank you how do you see presentation notes of you look at OBS instead at PowerPoint :)
I only use one screen, so I typically just look at OBS. But sometimes I switch windows to my notes.
Great video, thanks. I'm a teacher and do a lot of online instruction. I would like to use the third method you showed but would also like to be able to use my mouse pointer during the presentation. Is there a way to do that?
I haven't tried myself, but look for an OBS plugin that will allow you to show the pointer!
I use the third method, but to add some additional effect (as your second slide) i have to duplicate the slides to mimic that show up effect from OBS
Oh yes, I do that too. Especially when I want list items to appear I use the fade transition in OBS Studio.
Thank you
How can I display the slideshow but with my face in the top right hand corner like on this ^ video please?
Please let me know how to use slide animation function in OBS?
Use the window capture method from PowerPoint.
Thank you Dear
Thanks for watching!
Hey Markus, do you know how can I see my presenters notes while running ppt on obs?
Thank you so much! You saved my day.. week... year
I prefer the third method because of the control. I'm not very tech-savvy, so it is great to be able to do it all within OBS and reduce the stress of holding a presentation.
Thanks for watching!
can you make on e for google slides?
That's a good idea! The approach would be similar to PowerPoint, except I don't think Slides has the windowed slideshow mode.
Will a slide clicker work to transition slides while presenting?
Yes, if you use PowerPoint to bring the slides to OBS Studio. Or you can set up the native slides in OBS Studio with keyboard shortcuts to the remote.
Your video taught me how to use the 3rd method and I confidently gave my first OBS slide show presentation on Zoom---only to discover that this method seems to disable the cursor!!! I don't think there's a way to do that natively. In my presentations I rely on describing what's relevant, and I almost never use a pointer.
@ Thank you! I was afraid of that. I'm currently testing whether Powerpoint cameo mode might be a better solution that OBS.
Great tutorial. My slides skip in OBS. The skipping sequence is the same every time. I've looked everywhere.. any thoughts?
It could be the filename (which determines the order), or that you've reached the maximum size for the total slides.
@ What's the best way to name the file to maintain the right order? I have tried all different naming. cheers
Thanks a lot Markus. Please, you did not relate the tutorial to recording or streaming. At what point should one begin recording the presentation after converting the PPT to images?
Fantastic

I have Mac PC Markus, do you think you can help me
Sorry, I don't use a Mac.
Hello. Unfortunately my mac does not have the png file format. what is the altrnative?
You mean PowerPoint for Mac doesn't allow you to export PNG? Or any other image format?
I am not very good in this trying to learn. what are the other image formats?@
The drawback of the picture method is the animations will be lost.
How to we silve that
Yes, that's a limitation that doesn't have an obvious solution.
How come every time I pick add directory it loads all my slides completely out of order?
They are typically added into OBS Studio in alphabetical order.
I selected the third method but I can't see all of the PowerPoint slides, its too big. what do I do to adjust the size of the images?
That one I don't know.

I have a problem with OBS Slideshow. If i has put more images, OBS was crazy. It has played only first 5-6 images and looped it. Another slides didnt show.

@ this is a common limit for all slides? What size is it?
3 rd one is the best option
Good

I love it but how can I can go live on RUclips with all this...
You sure can!
