The scene where she said, "you got served", then threw the divorce papers up in the air and swung it down at him with a tennis racket, but then accidentally hit him with the racket and chipped his teeth, kinda broke the flow of the movie. I'm not gonna lie

As funny as it is to hear Adum rip apart films, I genuinely enjoy hearing him speak so passionately about a film that downright blew him away. You can hear how much he loves the film on a technical level, it's really heartwarming.

Not shocked Justin wrote a banger film. Potion Seller is the obvious go-to for people recognizing him, but that entire channel of his is a gold mine of great bits that make it so obvious he's a great writer.
I'm not shocked but with how hard it is to make it as a screenwriter good God am I happy for him.
I highly recommend wife turned into a frog by him. I go back to it often.

Nice to see I'm not the only one to notice that the potion seller guy wrote that movie. I also read his book Famous People. It was hilarious. He's also going to write Luca's next movie as well, it seems. As well as a film called City on Fire.
I would say the People's Joker looks like a feature length Nostalgia Critic parody video, but that would be an insult to the People's Joker.

this movie is a rollercoaster. so enjoyable. love the use of the scoreboard during the match. It helps keep track of the score and reminds the audience of the time continuity
Such a shame that most people's exposure to Challengers is that unfortunate poster that separated the word with "Challe-" on the top.

I absolutely loved The People’s Joker, although I’ll admit a good part of that is just being baffled that such a thing exists and is getting a wide release. I’m someone who has been burned out on parodies since middle school, so to see a parody movie that is also telling a surprisingly strong original story and making better use of DC characters than most of the recent official movies really cemented it.
My taste in movies and music gets weirder and weirder the older I get. Just give me something I haven't seen 100X before.

I saw the peoples joker last night at the chicago music box and it was a really fun experience. Given most of the audience was trans women but it felt nice to be surrounded by that many people from my community coming together for something like that.
Vera Drew was there and did a short Q&A afterwords. Saying how she had worked for Adult Swim for people like Tim Heidecker, Eric Andre, and even Nathan Fielder. So I can see how the movie got the look it did, even if a lot of it was due to budgetary restrictions.
Another thing she said about the style of the movie is that “art should be held together by tape” which is a lot what this movie feels like. It’s a mess but a good mess in my opinion. Plus as a trans girl myself I can really relate to the story so I had a really great experience overall. Will definitely watch it again someday but I can easily see how it’s not for everyone. But like Adam said the fact that it exists is enough of an accomplishment.
Can't wait to see it!

I finally got to see The People's Joker at a sold out screening at the closest indie theater I could find. Absolutely worth the 2-hour drive. It's such a delightfully niche piece of underground schlock that breaks as many rules as it can while still managing to tell a surprisingly heartfelt story about trans love and self-acceptance. It'll be a miracle if it ever gets a physical or streaming release, but at least I can say I experienced it.

Thanks for the Challengers recommendation, just saw it and it was fantastic.
I saw the people's joker before they had to make a bunch of changes to the music and certain scenes for the theatrical release. I'm curious to see what it looks and sounds like in comparison but with the original copyright music did make me enjoy it more. The humor definitely made the film for me and I just hope they are able to have more budget for their next movie.
Trent Reznor cranks out banger scores and he is very good at choosing projects to work on.
Also, it's the guy who played the young Prince Charles in The Crown, and he was exceptional in that role. One of the best performances in the show which is high praise.

Whoever made the trailer for Challengers needs to be fired because I saw it at the theater before Dune and it made the movie seem like like shittiest most generic romantic comedy I've ever seen. I'm actually baffled hearing people talk about how good it is.
