When you have a mother who's always concerned about how what you do makes her look, she gets very controlling like this. The mother wants to make the wedding perfect for herself so that she's not worried about what people are going to say about HER afterwards. It's very self-centered, but that's just how some moms are. They see their daughters as extensions of themselves, and think everything their daughter does - for better or for worse - reflects on them. Their daughter's successes are mom's successes. Their daughter's failures are mom's failures. And if the flowers are perceived by any single guest as a failure, that's something the mother won't be able to handle because she's not emotionally mature enough to understand it's not about her.
Pretty sure that accounts were password protected, especially if the were used to the mother interfering. This mother may find that she is uninvited. 😅
This is weird. Why would you not just directly call your client (IE, the couple) to advise of unexpected changes? Then, let them resolve it instead of injecting yourself into the situation by calling the mother directly. The mother is not your client; the couple, in this instance, are your clients. This can lead to many issues directed back at yourself, especially when you tell someone, NOT your client, what they must do.
As I see it, part of what the site is contracted to do is permit those things and people the couple wants to be there while removing those things and people the couple does not want there - they provide site security and help to organize deliveries of the suppliers of services and "props". By checking with the couple who contracted the service, they made sure there hadn't been a change in plans. They then tried to cancel the mistaken delivery. When the provider of services told them they had a contract to deliver, paid in full, so they were contractually obligated to deliver, the site representative informed the florist that the delivery was not going to be allowed, then contacted the contractee of the florist to let them know they had a delivery to arrange for somewhere else . What Mom decides to do after that is between her and the florist. The site has already informed them both of their (the sites') position.
