Hi mate, thanks for the video. How much did you pay for the HPFP? I looking to buy one but bmw charge me crazy price. How is it holder up after 6 months use?
You must replace the Low Fuel Pressure and High Fuel Pressure sensors (roughly $30 & $45 for both OE/OEM same quality) when you replace any fuel pressure pump!
Depends, really. For example, I sometimes have a long crank if the car’s been sitting in the garage overnight or longer, never happens during the day. The logic here is that the pressure drops over longer period of time(which can be due to failing injectors or hpfp)
Hi Great video. I have a 2012 BMW X5 xdrive35i. I replaced my throttle body and my HPFP. The car throwing fault code P15DF. I also have the Engine alert: Engine malfunction reduced power Chassis stabilization malfunction DBC malfunction drive carefully. Thank you or your subscribers for any advice…
Hey man! Have you scanned for error codes? The car does run smoothly now but it may not be your issue. Does your car crank heaps and take longer to turn on?
Mitch Nucifora I’m getting the 2bdb shadow code high pressure low and I ocaisionally get a really long crank no other codes I also pulled my plugs and they look like they were run lean
Sounds like your HPFP is dying. I would try use the car a little longer until it long cranks every cold start so you can somewhat confirm it. The pumps aren’t cheap!
Hello i have f10 n55 i change months ago my stock lpfp i have walbro 450 and change my hpfp sensor runs good but now when i start rpm go up en down and the car stops active code i have 11A210 what should you suggest me to do please ?!

Im not sure if its my injector that's failing or my hpfp, Im getting codes 29CD - Combustion misfires, cylinder 1, 2AAF Fuel pump, plausibility and 2E18 - Firing Cylinder 1. its on limp mode now. Can i switch the injector 1 and 2 to see if im getting cylinder 2 misfire to determine if in fact it is the injector thats the issue? and can i do that without replacing the rings and decompressor rings simply to diagnose? or can i casue damage this way? My original issue was after hard acceleration especially on the highway the car was choking / shaking. I have replaced the coils and spark plugs , which seemed to fix the issue for a month. few days ago i accelerated hard again and it went into limp mode and i am getting the codes above. Beforfe the limp mode I also got a code 29D9 Misfire at low tank fill level. prior and in addition the the codes above. Any suggestions? if it was the HPFP failing wouldnt I have issues with more than 1 cylinder?
Generally if it’s an O2 sensor or the HPFP, you’ll get misfires across more than one cylinder. It does sound like your injector on cylinder 1 may be faulty however I’m not too sure about just switching them over to test. Did you change the tuning on the car a few months prior to this happening? Sometimes plugs can shit themselves within months. I had that happen to me
I got codes 36BE, 321F, 387F, 29D2, 29D0, 2C84, 2C58, 2C72 from the JB4. MHD gave me a different shadow code though. I will have to check, but the single code I got said that there was low pressure in the high pressure fuel system.
Can a cheap chinese hpfp make the car smell of petrol? Seems to run fine, no check engine, no codes. All new sparkplugs, changed 2 bad coils, changed 4 injectors for some used ones. Upon checking the idle all cylinders seem to have a nice idle, however the petrol smell is a mystery, theres no leaks, but smells like unburnt petrol
My car misfired badly so changed spark plugs/coils and it helped. But when I pull hard engine malfunction comes up until I turn off car and back on it goes away. Only comes up if I pull hard than has reduced power. I don’t know the codes but will this most likely be the hpfp or can it be something else you know of?
Mitch Nucifora hey man, so before trying to check out my hpfp I saw that my charge pipe broke off, could this possible be the reason for an engine malfunction??

Really! I didn’t know 😬
What happens if you don’t?
Your car is goals you should make a vid on how much you spent to make it that way
Cheers man!! It’s been requested heaps so might make one
Actually the low pressure fuel pump causes the long crank when starting. Not the HPFP.

Hi
Great video.
I have a 2012 BMW X5 xdrive35i.
I replaced my throttle body and my HPFP.
The car throwing fault code P15DF.
I also have the Engine alert:
Engine malfunction reduced power
Chassis stabilization malfunction
DBC malfunction drive carefully.

hi, little late but check your clock spring, have the same issue on my 2011 335i
Did you say put it back to 88oct. ? You need 91 bro. Hopefully where you live they offer 91
I have the same issue in my n55 rpms go up and down and car does not pull hard did this fix all your issues?

how much did u pay for that thing almost 4 years ago?

Any update ?
After I do a pull my car goes into limp mode then I turn my car off the back on and it’s fine could that be a symptom ?
Possibly! When was the last time you checked your plugs?
Mitch Nucifora I replaced my plugs and coils 7,000 miles ago

Did you ever figure out your issue?
@@25BEDFORD yeah I thinks so there were vacuum leaks all over and causing air fuel mixture codes

Hi, did this fix your issue? I’m getting p142E code on my 135i. Long cranks and reduced power.
It fixed mine. A faulty HPFP can also put the car into limp mode.
Mitch Nucifora nice. Is that the same code you where getting?

O rings on the fuel line connections
Mine was my fuel pressure regulator, it was bad and made my cabin smell like gas 24/7

Definitely! 100%
@@rustymilk3394 I think maybe you don’t even need that. Just throw it away.
Could you link where you got the hpfp from ?

Hi mate, I think my HPFP going soon. I want to change it. How much was the pump? Should I buy aftermarket or from bmw?
I got code 2C01 but i’m a 2011 N55, did you run full E85 with oem hpfp?
The most you should run on a factory pump is E40. I originally ran E30 to be precautions, but have ran E40 for probably a year now
Does the N54 hpfp fit a n55
Any differences
Depends what variant N55 you have! If it’s made before 03/12 or something like that, it will use the same pump. You will need to confirm though!
Sorry but that was the worst "Install" Video ever. LOL But thanks anyway.
Hahaha. Appreciate the feedback 😝
Would a failing hpfp cause blue smoke to come out the exhaust and smoke to come out from the oil fill cap on the valve cover?
Definitely not!
