Installing BMW B58 HPFP On BMW N55 Because Of Fuel Pressure Issue

Today we going to upgrade the HPFP (high pressure fuel pump), on this BMW F32 with N55B30 engine. For doing this job, we going to use the HPFP from the newer generation BMW B58 engine. We are doing this because we are trying to figure out, some fuel pressure dropping issues, while the car is on full acceleration/throttle.

Great job guys! Probably you cleaned the intake ports too. I did mine this week. Pretty gunged up after 88.000 km! Result, much better throttle response, better idling, and a little more power. Thanks for sharing guys. Dutch regards, Nico.

@@crank3646 yes, probably the low pressure pump is the problem, if this is still the oem one. Did the car had any 2AAF codes. Regards, Nico
@@Nico_335i_DCT Good bet, but the low fuel pressure is maintaining constant, when full load is applied
I have one recommendation - just tell the owner to buy the b58 f32 and all the problems will be fixed. :D :D

All your problems will be fixed... Oil filters disintegrating dropping bits of filter into the engine, injector issues and cracked pistons/bore scoring, coolant loss/coolant leaks everywhere etc etc.
@@rayland9305I have a 2015 N55 making 530whp and I have had none of these issues with 30k miles at this power. Regular maintenance and aux oil cooler make a huge difference

After install and test on car. When you took it for a drive What ethanol % was in the car during time of test.

Where I can buy the pigtail fuel pump connector?
That is one odd looking N55 HPFP, might have been a later model. This project is going to be a messy one, the fuel clamps can only be used 3 times and if overtorqued, the orifice deforms which can affect pressures. Of course the history is unknown of the vehicle if the injectors have been disconnected before. Yes the older units which look different, we never removed manifold to replace it, it is fairly poor access.
I'm not sure what you mean about fuel clamps, but if you are talking about the nuts on the fuel lines, I have reused those much more than 10 times on many cars, still without any issues.
please tell me if it could be the high pressure pump. it is an n20 engine with no error codes. at the first cold start, after acceleration the speed drops exactly as in the video
If already doing the upgrade he should of went with the TU b58 pump.
I'm doing this adaptarion in a n55 335i, i'm with a supra hpfp, do you have some molds of the cutting and the Bolt holes, I am from Brazil and here we don't have information or a Guide to do It.

I have a 2013 n55 535i that needs a HPFP replaced. Can I retro for the b58 hpfp ? If so, what part number would work for me? If you could send a link to the part. Thanks

Fcp euro sells a revised hpfp for our cars, it’s half the price of oem pump.

Everything is explained in the video. By calculating the clearance you will understand why I'm using this cylinder head gasket. In few words, the previous shop have installed thicker gasket than need, that is why we are using the same one.

@@crank3646 you know what, i checked 5 types of car which the m57 286hp is installed, and i found that every cars is using 2 holes type of head gasket😮, and the cars are never been dismantle
@@crank3646 so i can guess that BMW is using 2 hole gasket in the manufacturing, my question to you is why they doing that
