    Thank you for this video. I am a disabled Vet looking for something to do on bad days, weeks or months when I am in way to much pain to work outside. I have a few hundred bottles I am saving to build a wall out of and get hundreds of bottles a month from wine clubs. But, in the mean time I can do things like this to decorate the house and to make some money. This will help me in so many ways.... I like to feel useful and that isn't easy when you have sever injuries that keep you down.
    Thanks again.

      This makes me so happy and makes all the work I put into these videos worth it and some. I'm sorry to hear that you suffer from pain on a daily basis and want to thank you for your service. I appreciate the sacrifice you made for our freedom. I will keep you in my prayers, thank you again and God bless! :)

      Thanks again. And you are very welcome for serving. I loved serving my country. I deployed 7 times for combat. It was something I was very proud of and felt great that I was able to serve my country.
      I was looking at videos on what to do with all the glass bottles I have for building a wall and your video came up. I am very thankful that I found it and have watched it now 4 times. This will be very new to me, but, looks like fun and looks like I can do it.
      Thanks for putting that list under the video. I had no idea what most of that stuff you used was. lol. So, having that list helps a lot. If you have any suggestions on where to go for supplies or online stores please let me know.

      You're welcome and I always leave a list of supplies in every video. I buy most of my supplies in bulk and online but you can get most of it at Walmart, eBay, Amazon and craft stores like Micheals, Hobby Lobby or Ace Moore. The laser print you can get anywhere they print copies out. Most places use laser printers but if you want to make sure, just ask them. :)

      Stephen OConner I totally understand where you are at. I have had 21 surgeries in about 30 months. I also paint the glass from picture frames I get at the dollar store.

      If you can help me figure out how to hide the light's wire that goes to outlet, I would so appreciate this, all I can think of is taking my candy jars to a place to "wet-drill" - have had these 5 years - set up on a shelf to hide wires..

      +DIYNoNeedToCry Thanks for a very interesting post, here are a few more tips for how to make wine…
      Use the correct equipment. Things like plastic buckets and bins come in different grades of plastic. You must use the food-grade plastic products not the cheaper buckets you might use to clean the floor!
      If plastic buckets and bins start getting scratched and grazed, replace them. The grazes will start harbouring microbes and eventually you’ll have a spoilt batch of wine.
      If stirring the must (the initial mix of fruit and water etc.) in a bin, scald the spoon with boiling water first to quickly sterilise it.
      Fill and top up airlocks with cooled, boiled water - never straight from the tap.
      Avoid metal spoons and sieves with fermenting wine - i.e. after the yeast has been added. Sometimes they can taint the wine. Avoid wooden spoons, which are hard to sterilise - plastic is far better.
      Reusing wine bottles is fine, ask friends to save them for you and check with local clubs or restaurants who are often willing to give them to you. Wash out immediately as a clean bottle will be a lot easier to sterilise when you come to use them.
      Rack your wine to clear it before bottling. That is, using a syphon tube, suck up the wine from one demijohn into another leaving the sediment (called lees) behind. The tubes with a base and valve are cheap enough and a make this quicker. Allow the wine to settle for a week and repeat if necessary before bottling
      Never judge your wine by the taste as you bottle it. Most often you will think it is a disaster. Some wines can take 2 years to mature. As a general rule, perhaps try a bottle after 5 or 6 months. If it tastes harsh, leave the rest for at least another 5 or 6 months.
      Allow time. Time is the great wine maker and you should never be in a rush. We’ve made wine that was 9 months in the demijohn before bottling and drunk it three years later. The next year it was even better!
      (I learned these and the reasons they work on Pavas Grape Plan site )

      I wouldn't do this in the bathroom as I don't think it would do well with the moisture. Maybe if you use the waterproof Mod Podge instead. I just finished watching this tutorial. You rock. That bottle is fabulous. I have a piece of beveled glass that I picked up on the side of the road. Yay. I want to do something like what you just did. I'm hoping to write something like "Kiss me Goodnight" or "Sleep Tight", I plan on hanging it in my bedroom. So I have big ideas but NO talent. Would you just write the words with fabric paint? I was hoping to make them big and bold. I will definitely take your advice and start with something small. (maybe a ragu jar? ) I'm so glad I found you. Your talent inspires me. Wishing you well.

    • @DIYNoNeedToCry
      @DIYNoNeedToCry  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Alan, well I'm happy to have you as a part of this community! We all have it in use, I find that the biggest problem is figuring out how to execute an idea. That doesn't mean you have no talent because once we know how to do it, we can recreate it. So don't ever say that missy! Lol! Yes, I would definitely start off with something small and a flat surface would also make this process so much faster and easier. For the letters, I'll make a video and show you, okay hun. In the meantime practice on that spaghetti jar. :)

    Hi!. Great video. watch a lot of videos re: this stuff but not too many I want to either "re-watch" or "save."
    But your explanations were very on point and you were friendly with out talking ti us like we were 5 yrs old or assuming we knew as much as you did. (You did not tell us what kind of paint you used to fill in the spaces or I missed it - quite possible).
    The finished product is gorgeous and I would proudly own one!
    I DID subscribe and I will be doing this one I know. If nothing else just for the bird!
    WOW
    To put that Bird on a outdoor wind chime or on a Patio Door would be beautiful too. See you have created a monster!

      @DIYNoNeedToCry  2 года назад

      Congratulations!!! If you do, you should know that if you use the food coloring, it will fade over time in the sun. You can do one of two things to prevent that. You can seal it with a UV protective sealing spray or use glass paints. They have cheap ones available on Amazon that don't cost as much as the Gallery Glass paints. Again! Congratulations on being sober 6 years!! That's awesome!! 🙏❤

    Your stain glass technique is stunning. I am assuming the modpodge in the paints insures adhesion to slick glass but is the fabric paint secure on the glass? I want to try this myself but don't want the paint to flake off in time. Your work is beautiful and your time and talent are appreciated!

      Thank you but I can't take credit for this technique. I learned it from the RUclipsr I mentioned in the video, but I can take credit for the bottle idea and design lol... and yes the puffy fabric paint is doing just fine on mine. It still looks the same way as when I first made it. Thank you!! :)

    I love the stained glass look. I paint dollar store frames. I use an acrylic pen to outline and acrylic paint mixed with clear school glue. I love using my matalic acrylic paint with the glue to add a bit of shimmer

    Beautiful results. I'm sure it is a lot cheaper to make your own paints than it is to use Gallery Glass paints it seems to be the same basic ingredients. I've used them in the past.

    • @DIYNoNeedToCry
      @DIYNoNeedToCry  7 лет назад +3

      Thank you and yes, the Gallery Glass paints go for $2.40 each on the low side so for all the colors it'll come out to about, $43. A box of food coloring is about $3.50 and the Mod Podge Brilliant is about $6 so a total of $9.50. Saving you about $33. Wow!!... doing the math really made me realize how much of saving that is! :)

      Keep on creating , you have smart's and skills. I recently watched a' how to make a dragons eye' video, I didn't have any large glass pebbles and wanted to try the method so I did it on the bottom of wine glass stems. They turned out really nice if I do say so myself. HAPPY CRAFTING! :)

      Lol, that's right! No crying, just crafting! The materials I used in this bottle are pretty inexpensive. The only thing's that are a bit more is the black fabric paint and the Mod Podge Brilliant Gloss.

    Wow this is amazing. You did a wonderful job explaining step by step. And the end result is beautiful! About how long did this take you? And do you think this technique would work as good on a normal piece of class exposed to sunlight? Or would you just leave it for something inside the house?

    • @DIYNoNeedToCry
      @DIYNoNeedToCry  7 лет назад

      Thank you and I'm not sure. I'd say about 4 days but I work on multiple projects at once. So it would have probably taken me less time if I had focused solely on this piece. I would do a tester spot on the glass first and see how that plays out... after a couple of months. The results of that would let me know if I would or wouldn't. :)

      Thank you!... I used to be a smoker and I quit but still craved the nicotine so, I used an electronic cigarette to give me the nicotine without all the other dangerous stuff in regular cigarettes. You have to buy e liquid for the electric cigarette and that is what the bottles are from. I am happy to say, that I have weaned myself off of that as well and have been nicotine free for almost 2 months!!

    I have a question? When you use gallery glass faux Staind paint what kind of sealer shall I use?

    • @DIYNoNeedToCry
      @DIYNoNeedToCry  2 года назад +2

      I've never used Gallery Glass. What I suggest is using something that protects against UV rays seeing as that's what these projects are exposed to. I know when using the food coloring if not sprayed with UV protection, and left in the sun, the colors will fade. I don't know if that happens with Gallery Glass. Maybe read the back of one to see what the manufacturer suggests?
