Received items I ordered couple days ago....super fast shipping and products are great! Just starting out but find it (stained glass) very relaxing. Thanks sooooo much!
Still, years later fascinated in this process! Is there a sm kit for this? Thanks!! Did you post what the firing schedule is, when you use paints with the coarse frit?? Thanks
Great tutorial. This reminds me of royal icing for cookies. The icing can't be to thin or too thick, and the piping of the edges or design before filling.
SPARKL3YSPARX thank you. I learned to pipe from a fellow artist that was a baker that became allergic to flower and decided to bring her talents to the ceramic world and then I applied it to glass.
No idea this required firing... not what I was looking for. Took 3/4 thru video to find it out. Other glass paints don't require firing. I was looking for something easy, which is why I clicked on this. Clearly this is quite involved. It does look beautiful
Amy, sorry for the confusion. The piping paste is the only product that we carry that can be fired or used on surfaces that don't require firing. I have other videos showing it being used on Christmas ornaments.
Hi, I might have missed it, but what is the firing schedule if you use either? on a single layer of Clear Coe 90. The paste and the other enamel outline? Thanks very much, I love this technique. You can use your own free hand drawing, no need for a stencil or a decal. !!
You need to fire to a minimum of 1380 degrees. So it would depend on the size of your piece. You could do 350/1380/10, 9999/900/60, 100/700/1 for anything under 8 inches. Slow it down for larger pieces.
@VanessaBarr, Yes, you can use any frit to do the bubble technique. I would use medium of Bullseye, that is more the size of the Slumpy's, but any size can be used.
Samina Ali all of Colors for Earth glass enamels need to be fired in a kiln to a minimum of 1380 degrees. The frit is also glass that melts in the kiln to different heights depending on how hot you fire it. Our website is www.colorsforearth.com where you can find more information.
Hi, just to double check...you can fire this one time with piping past and the colors -all at once? I have been curious about this. Thanks so much. suggested coe 90 firing schedule?? I just gotta do this soon!
I'm from California. Love your video but I have a question. I'm a painter of wine glasses and rocks and I'm almost 80 years old. I still love to paint and I love the outlining but due to my arthritic hands I can't squeeze the bottles to get that kind of pressure. Does your bottles take a lot of pressure and I'm looking for a thin outline. Any suggestions? Thanks, Lona
Also can I use black pebea paint for adding details on top of dry paint layer or should I get the CFA black detailing paint you use in this video? Does it matter as long as I am using a black paint on the dry layer
The pebo paint is not fired so you would have to fire the enamels, the apply that product. The DB101 Detailing Black is used on top of the dry enamel and then all is fired at the same time.
You don't have to fire them right away, but they do need to be fired to a minimum of 1380 degrees. You can fire them with thinfire or Papyrus firing paper under them. They are fired in a kiln.
Adrija Dutta. you can purchase these on my website. www.colorsforearth.com search for pipkit in the search bar. They are $12.00 which includes the bottle, 4 different tips, plunger and cleaner.
I'm using a piping bottle from Colors for Earth website. You fill it with the product. Here is a link. colorsforearth.com/product/piping-bottle-cap-4-tips-syringe/
I am not sure what you are asking about. I was using Piping bottles, GO-331 Black Outline, BLFP-Black Paste, G Series enamels, etc. Can you tell me exactly what you are referring to?
You can scrape it off with a palette knife or tool. If it is outline black you can use a toothpick. With a damp paper towel you can wipe it off if you have nothing else on the glass.
Beautiful Paula!! I would love to see this technique done and then finish by etching the back side. If you have a piece like this , please send it to me and I will etch the back side. God bless...Barbee...
I'm not sure why you had a problem. It has been viewed thousands of times and no one else has had a problem. Check the volume on the RUclips also to see if it is up all the way.
William Blakney the glass is cut. This is warm glass that is kiln fired not stained glass. The talent is in the art you create with the fired products.
Sorry I watched more of these and I just don't get it. It seems too lazy to be a real art form, but that's just me. It is obviously popular so what do I know right?
