You can do it on acoustic. Drop D tuning. Probably wouldn’t sound grand but I’ve seen some people do some crazy metal covers on acoustic it’s ace

why thank you for asking and for even knowing Billy :) Scott (you can find him on youtube as Team 512, he makes car videos) and I reconnected when I lived in PA for the last two years and have started recording those songs from all that time ago. One is currently almost done and I'm waiting on his bass line :P
