Great video but that's not really how Mercy and Lucio settings work. Mercy option is not for automatically following, it just disables the option to fly towards another character when you're healing or buffing someone already. In my opinion, having it on makes it a bit complicated to use guardian angel to fly away from dangerous situations. Lucio's hold to crossfade means you have to hold down the button to activate speed boost and when you let go it goes back to healing.
Remy Blas that's what the mercy one says ... Your just giving a "glass half full compared to glass half empty" description and she didn't say the cross fade just automatically changes for you and or anything she said what it's meant for as in what you would want to do it for because you don't understand what "hold to cross fade" does and she needs to break it down for you then honestly I hope you just don't play because I would hate to have you on my team
Drew Chance What the fuck are you talking about?? I didn't even understand half of what you say but I can see you took it all waaay too seriously and I don't even get why you're so upset by my comment anyway. You really need to relax!
The Lucio setting is that you simply hold whatever your switch button is and it will switch to speed, when you stop holding it will switch back to healing.
Yeah, I'm not sure where the narrator got her information about Lucio's setting because it's essentially 100% wrong. From the little bit I've played around with it, it's not bugged either. Pretty self-explanatory, Hold button down to have speed, release button to heal. My guess would be that it's more for people that forget to swap to healing after running back from dying. It's much more difficult to forget since the moment you stop holding the button, you automatically revert back to your healing. That being said, I agree with the narrator that I prefer the original setting better. However, she may have a different mindset had she realized that her understanding was incorrect. She might actually enjoy the setting once she understood how it worked, I don't know.
CasmX again as I've told every comment she didn't have it wrong she just stated what it's use is as in why you would use it because it's very self explanatory on how to use "hold to cross fade" and as I told the last person who ranted about it if she needs to give a sea tailed description on that then I hope you stop playing because I don't want you on my team in the first place
No, I just watched it again. She got it 100% wrong. I'm guessing you don't understand how it works either because there's just no way to interpret what she says in the way you describe unless you too don't understand how it works either. You may want to look into it before commenting about stuff you (and the narrator) obviously don't understand. Not trying to be rude, but your comment simply makes you look ignorant.
What you're describing is the bugged version of Hold To Crossfade. It's not supposed to change back to healing while the button is pressed, hence the operative word "hold" in the setting. While you have shift pressed, Lucio is in speed mode. Release and he goes back to healing mode. I use this setting and from time-to-time I still experience the bugged version for some reason, but it's supposed to stay in speed mode (and only speed mode) while the button is pressed.
For Mercy: Never turn toggle on, and *turn the follow beam target OFF*. Leaving the follow on is horrendous and will get you in so much trouble for no reason. You need to be able to look away and leap to someone else constantly, and there's nothing worse than healing a lost cause who overextends and then turning to someone else, trying to fly away, and being pulled back to them to die too. Toggle just makes healing and switching targets rapidly feel clunky. Hanzo/Genji/Junkrat: Auto climbing walls can be ok for hanzo and genji, though you may find it feels a little "sticky". Accidentally climbing walls you're jumping past etc. Just mess around and see if you like it. But I would NOT recommend using it on junkrat, as you need to stall your tire almost every time to confuse enemies. This will make you run right up walls and screw with your timing. For Lucio: I thought the "Hold shift for speed" would feel like a sprint button but do some testing for yourself because it doesn't always work for me. A lot of times I let go and it stays in speed boost and I have to press it again to switch back anyway. Like she said it's a bug that will hopefully be patched soon so I guess it's preference, It also doesn't switch instantly, theres about a second before it lets go which can be problematic. Reinhardt: Don't ever toggle your shield. Why would you do that? It completely ruins speed hopping.
AspiringArtist Yeah I don't know what word you would use for it, but you let go of your shield, jump forward and press shield again at the same time over and over. Let's you keep a good portion of your speed without leaving yourself too vulnerable.
i wouldn't say absolutely turn prioritize beam target off. i know a lot of people, myself included, who prefer to just release the beam when hopping to someone else. plus it allows for jukes as mercy.
adambdragon Which just takes away the healing you could have done while flying away from the person you already have the beam on. I fly from people when they're almost healed because by the time I get to the next person they're topped off. Not to mention that if the person you're healing overextends and is in the shit you can still heal them while bailing. With toggle on, you have to completely abandon them instantly and fly away leaving them to die. If you have to let go to fly then you're just missing out on more healing/damage buff uptime over and over. As far as juking goes, not sure what's more of a juke than being able to fly in any direction and not the one you have a huge shiny beam attached to. Sure you flew backwards but everyone knows where you're going. I would say turn it off 100%. There is no upside I have seen.
+Mr. Limekiller eh. ive fooled many a player with mercy jukes. plus sometimes all it takes is a jump backwards to avoid a shot. also, being able to prioritize a particular target ,especially when falling is very helpful. cant say how many times ive been pushed off of the edge and only been able to save myself because of the priority not being on players that might get in the way of my aim.
Hey just saying, the lucio setting doesn't work that way. If you hold the crossfade it will give you speed, and when you let go it will be healing or viceversa.
The Widowmaker charge thing is easy to do. Every time you fire a sniper shot, unscope and scope right back in (like in CS:GO). That takes off some charge frames so it charges faster. Think of it like discount quickscoping. Also, on Reaper, everytime you empty your guns and right (and I mean RIGHT) after you throw out your guns, melee in between so you can "reload" your shotguns quicker
animation cancelling. and the widow trick no longer works as of the new nerfs. unscoping now causes the charge time on widows sniper to be slightly longer.
Nathaniel Manchester if you don't have a healer in your team, "I need healing" will say "we need a healer" it will still say "i need healing" for but everyone else sees it as "we need a healer"
Hold to Crossfade is SUPPOSED to make it so that your song is always on healing and then it will play Speed while you are Holding Shift (like you are using sprint). The bug is that it simply doesnt always work, sometimes it gets toggled twice, sometimes not at all, sometimes its late, its just super wonky - and yes, it's still bugged.
Not sure if you know but it wasn't in the video but you can also change the reticle settings for each individual character I like keeping the Hanzo reticle on default because the space between the bars let me correct for drop at a distance. For most characters dot seems to be the most simple. Leaving bloom on along with using the circle reticle is actually really cool. The circle on a soldier or bastion will actually be a dot when not shooting, but when the shots start to spread apart the dot will expand into a circle. Super useful
One thing to note with Mercy's prioritize beam target is that if you leave it on it will allow you to glide to somebody you aren't looking at as long as you are connected to them. So if you are looking behind your team to watch for a flank and you get pushed you can glide backwards without line of sight. This gets you to your team faster so they can protect you. If you turn the setting off you will not be able to glide unless you are looking at the person you want to glide to.
omg the auto cc on this video was pretty much spot on and this is the first time I've seen a video with auto cc so good, im so busy following the cc and being amazed by it that i didn't even take anything in xD had to watch it twice
XD You remeber me of a friend of mine who played fallout and after 30 hours in game he complains that you can not jump in the game lol XD He never tried out the a button on consol. I will never understand this ;) When i start a new game the first i do try all buttons out then i always go in the option menu and personalized my settings and check out the options.
no reason to be ashamed... since 99% didn't know about it and all the videos on youtube are just remakes of the one video who told us all... almost nobody had a clue since the options in blizzard games are always weird cluttered shit.
As a Mercy main I definitely prefer the toggle beam on, but the preferred target for Guardian Angel to be off - it definitely allows me far greater mobility without having to worry about turning off the beam first.
Wasn't sure what you meant by settings at the start, been skimming this tips and tricks for Overwatch for a bit now so was hoping for something new and useful. Not disappointed, was surprisingly helpful! Mostly the fact you can change the crosshairs for a specific hero and not just all of them (hadn't seen that dropdown option). The toggles were nice too, been having trouble with riptire to so thanks; the lucio thing is nice too (if it works). Reinhardt and widow were meh, but then the fact you can change the sensitivity between weapon modes of widow sounds hella nice. Ally hp setting is decent too. Think that's about it on my overall thoughts, just wanted to type them out cause this was definitely helpful. I skimmed the options before but didn't notice, well, basically all of this. Thanks a ton, appreciate the video.
Another Fun Fact: when you were sniping Bastion at 8:30 you were hitting him with a body shot. Not sure if you know but that blue glowing square on the back of his head is actually the headshot area when he is in turret mode.
One setting i found that helps abit with Mercy is swapping the Buff damage to left Trigger , personally i found it to be really uncomfortable to have to use buff damage on Right bumper due to having to hold the controller in a strange way. All you miss out on is her passive being on right bumper but even then her passive is abit useless.
I do not recommend automatic wall climb for Hanzo. Manual wall climb offers him much better options when navigating a map, especially rince he lacks Genji's double jump. And also, manual allows for some neat map tricks.
i was actually surprised that i didn't know a lot of these settings. i thought, i probably know all about these.. well i was wrong, this was very helpful! Thanks!
all super helpful, YET one simple trick , I would not reccomend turning junkrat auto climb on coz it's really not a big deal to just have to hold space every 5 mins when you are controlling the wheel, and you can do a trick where you hit the wall on purpose, and when the tire stops travelling it stops making that loud buzzing sound , it is really good trick to surprise your enemies, and when auto climb is turned on , that is lost.
Pardon me, but Zarya's shield does't remove most status effects, it just prevents them. The only status effects it removes are Discord Orbs and slows. For example, if you put a barrier on frozen ally, it will stop them from taking damage, but it won't unfreeze them.
You got the lucio setting all wrong. What it does is when you press shift, you switch to speed and when you let go it goes back to healing. Its for the people who forget they are in speed mode some of the time. Honestly if i dont think anyone would ever use the lucio setting that you described since it takes the control out of your hands.
Thought the Lucio setting was to hold the button down for speed boost and if you let go of button it switched to heal. Made for people who forget to change to heal.
I thought the lucio setting was to make the heal always be the default and the movement speed buff to only activate when you hold down shift, similar to Soldiers sprint.
I much prefer to have the setting for guardian angel favouring beam target to be off especially with using the toggle beam option on. I can see getting killed much more often as Mercy if I try to fly off to another target to get out of the line of fire only to end up flying to my beamed target instead. When I first started playing the game I wasn't aware of these settings for Mercy so I didn't enjoy playing her. Once I changed those two settings it became much more fluid to play, much easier to switch between targets and to guardian angel where I actually wanted to go.
I recently acquired overwatch and have no clue who to play as and wanted an experts opinion on who to play as I was thinking widow maker but I really don't know so if you could let me know some of your favorites of the best ones I could play as thanks a lot!
"A little more smoother and a little more easier" lol, btw you should add an annotation to tell people that you can't abuse the scope of Widow anymore, it was changed so the animation must now complete before you can scope again.
also she didnt mention why she was using green (or at least why i use green), and its the same premise of a green screen, it doesn't show up naturally as othe colors do so therefore it is easier to see against most backgrounds
I disagree on the junk rat auto climb. Sometimes its nice to be able to run into a while as like a pause to stay still for a second while things settle or w/e.
Yessssss thank you so much! You don't know the amount of times the person I was healing went into a fight I try to fly to another teammate as mercy but it makes me fly to the person getting mobbed that I was healing XD
Do you have to switch to the override every time you want to switch to a characters override say I turned the rheinhart one on and then I switched to the mercy one would the rheinhart one still be on
FYI the auto climb wall is probably not a good choice seeing as it can put u in situations where u have to react instantly and it can mess u up by climbing a wall u don't wan to climb.
It makes overrides all of them but you do have the option to change the reticle for a specific hero. I have all of my heroes with the short-crosshair reticle, but for Hanzo I left it at default, because you can't tell what arrow you are using without default.
Enabling Junkrat RIP-Tire auto climb walls is a very bad play imo. You will want to wait behind a wall for the perfect timing of the detonation. Auto climb prevents that option.
I don't think auto climb is so clunky that most players will screw up when waiting behind a wall and accidentally climb it instead, but this is still a decent point and something to consider. As always it'll be up to personal preference - I can imagine people doing fine with auto-climb on while other people might fail with it.
Bloom is the reticle expanding as your firing indicating the cone your bullets are traveling in, ex soldier 76 if you hold the trigger for more than 3-4 shots or tracer whenever you fire your gun.
Pump Biscuit What reticle is better is really down to personal preference. in some cases I like changing them when im using a hero with a high accuracy weapon soldier 76, mcree, widowmaker, just to have consistant sights to use. Other times I leave them alone. Reaper tracer, winston hanzo etc. As for if its better or not to run bloom thats really also down to personal preference. I leave it because it shows me relatively how much of my bullets as say tracer are going to be hitting my target. But I have also seen arguments being made that having the same reticle on everyone is better for consistancy and if its something like a small accurate reticle compared to reapers big circle it can potentially make you a little more accurate since you will be aiming with a small dot or crosshair instead of a large circle. There is a good video from the channel "unit lost" about accuracy in overwatch.
Great video but that's not really how Mercy and Lucio settings work.
Mercy option is not for automatically following, it just disables the option to fly towards another character when you're healing or buffing someone already. In my opinion, having it on makes it a bit complicated to use guardian angel to fly away from dangerous situations.

adambdragon yeah, I can't play Widowmaker without it anymore ;-;
How do you say we need healer on ps4?
hold down the D pad and you should find it!
Terred I tried that but it wasn't there. I need healing was there but not we need a healer or I need armor for that matter

great video.
well explained and helpful.
keep it up with the good work,Watts
XD...
Which passive? are you talking about her ability to glide while in the air?
I do not recommend automatic wall climb for Hanzo. Manual wall climb offers him much better options when navigating a map, especially rince he lacks Genji's double jump. And also, manual allows for some neat map tricks.
Every time i see a video about "secrets" its about these settings.. >_> Not very secret if there is over 100 videos on it already..
you are 100% correct
This was BEYOND helpful. Thank you.
i was actually surprised that i didn't know a lot of these settings. i thought, i probably know all about these.. well i was wrong, this was very helpful! Thanks!
7:30 that Widowmaker trick has been patched out recently
Reticle bloom isn't just preference. It provides information about your weapon's current fire spread.
This was actually very informative, good job lady.
I didn't know that about Soldier or Zarya beforehand! Thanks for the awesome tips.
all super helpful, YET one simple trick , I would not reccomend turning junkrat auto climb on coz it's really not a big deal to just have to hold space every 5 mins when you are controlling the wheel, and you can do a trick where you hit the wall on purpose, and when the tire stops travelling it stops making that loud buzzing sound , it is really good trick to surprise your enemies, and when auto climb is turned on , that is lost.
ive gained so much knowledge from this video!! thank you so much!!
Pardon me, but Zarya's shield does't remove most status effects, it just prevents them. The only status effects it removes are Discord Orbs and slows. For example, if you put a barrier on frozen ally, it will stop them from taking damage, but it won't unfreeze them.
VERY VERY VERY helpful. I never new some of the facts in it! Thanks!!
You got the lucio setting all wrong. What it does is when you press shift, you switch to speed and when you let go it goes back to healing. Honestly if i dont think anyone would ever use the lucio setting that you described since it takes the control out of your hands.
that trick with widowmakers zoom "trick" doesnt work anymore since full animation of pulling up the scope is now needed from recent patch
soldier and zarya are the most useful tips that I learned.
hey, good for but I think it is better to use hanzos original reticule because it makes it easier to see where your arrow will land :)
Thanks for the vid, I wasn't aware of some of those options!
Around 2000 ppl found this helpful cause they never found the options menu. :D
That is what it's supposed to be. And you don't need to hold down soldiers sprint
I learned that after a couple of games with Soldier when I started playing, but... *guilty* I still hold the button down sometimes...
thank u very much this will help me alot , i didnt know most of the tips u gave before
I much prefer to have the setting for guardian angel favouring beam target to be off especially with using the toggle beam option on. Thanks so much for the tips! Fantastic video!
i prefer default mercy. toggle makes it more of a hastle to switch between people quickly. and following beat target is nice for juking enemies
beam*
Annoying*
more of a hastle how? You point at someone else, and re-trigger the beam.
Excellent tips, I had no idea. Thank you!
"A little more smoother and a little more easier" lol, btw you should add an annotation to tell people that you can't abuse the scope of Widow anymore, it was changed so the animation must now complete before you can scope again.
Thanks for the info👍 will def try some of these settings out.
Excellent video and worthy of an upward pointing thumb.
Keep it up, Watts! Very helpful :).
whoa i didn't know how to get to these Thanks
Isnt the Lucio thing working when you hold shift movespeed is activated and when u let go healing is activated
Fantastically helpful video! thanks!
Wow, thanks. I didnt know most of these other than the Mercy toggle.
also she didnt mention why she was using green (or at least why i use green), and its the same premise of a green screen, it doesn't show up naturally as othe colors do so therefore it is easier to see against most backgrounds
In before 200 view great video thanks for the tips :3
I did not know you can change your recticle thanks! :D
I disagree on the junk rat auto climb. Sometimes its nice to be able to run into a while as like a pause to stay still for a second while things settle or w/e.
I'm wondering, why is your ult button set to R?
Thank you very helpful. I play Genji a lot that auto climb is going to help so so so so much
Finally! A console Overwatch player! I swear there are none on YT.
She was for one of the scenes.
Yessssss thank you so much! You don't know the amount of times the person I was healing went into a fight I try to fly to another teammate as mercy but it makes me fly to the person getting mobbed that I was healing XD
How do you say "Defend the objective" on pc or "Attack the objective"?
When ur past level 100 do u get 10 loot boxes every level up?
are you able to change your fov on console?
how do you get the "defend the objective" on xbox one? i cant find the option.
Is there a way to disable button hints ?
lucios is supposed to default to heal and switch to speed when holding shift.
Do you have to switch to the override every time you want to switch to a characters override say I turned the rheinhart one on and then I switched to the mercy one would the rheinhart one still be on
FYI the auto climb wall is probably not a good choice seeing as it can put u in situations where u have to react instantly and it can mess u up by climbing a wall u don't wan to climb.
your awesome dude, i never know junkrats tire could climb, i only just learned it can jump
on that note i only knew about genji and hanzo's setting. ive never check any hero settings before.
Good tips I found out about the junkrat one from dying to it sadly lol
Video Name should be: Secret Setting You May not Know About
Thank youuuuu! Many help, such love.😄😁
Ty for tips very Useful information 👏👏👍
Thank you for pointing these out. Very helpful :)
1:31 minutes into the video and you already get my like for the auto climb setting
Also, I love your voice and cheerfulness :-)
But the different heroes have different crosshairs, so how does it affect them?
It makes overrides all of them but you do have the option to change the reticle for a specific hero. I have all of my heroes with the short-crosshair reticle, but for Hanzo I left it at default, because you can't tell what arrow you are using without default.
I have health bars on for every hero!
I dig through the settings too
How does this video have dislikes. I just don't get what there is not to like
some people just want to watch the world burn.
Because these types of videos have been on every overwatch RUclips channel
DECSTAR so don't watch, dipstick.
look m8 im sorry I was just saying the truth
or it might be because the lucio setting was wrong.
Lucio to auto-wall ride for console is a must
"little more smoother, little more easier" cringe....
lel
Here is a tip and I'm not trying to be sarcastic or mean but if you reload it is very helpful if you are about to go through a choke point
Super helpful thanks for tips!
thanks these are actually very helpful ! i had no idea lol
Can't believe I didn't know about Junkrat climbing walls with riptire... Wow
Mind Blown thanks for the tips
the auto-climb with genji and hanzo isn't working on PS4 for some reason.
Yeah me too but I find it easier to use it when it's on
I'd love to know about sensitivity. I play against people on Xbox that have 99% accuracy with any character. I have like 30% or something.
Hmmmm very helpful but i was hoping i could find some info about tracer (considering that u used her in that image lol....)
If you have prefer beam target then you can’t avoid enemies easier.
what is bloom on the reticle section?
Bloom is the reticle expanding as your firing indicating the cone your bullets are traveling in, ex soldier 76 if you hold the trigger for more than 3-4 shots or tracer whenever you fire your gun.
+West Coast Warriors Archive Ah right, thanks.
+West Coast Warriors Archive is it better to run bloom and don't know what reticle sight is best
Pump Biscuit
What reticle is better is really down to personal preference. in some cases I like changing them when im using a hero with a high accuracy weapon soldier 76, mcree, widowmaker, just to have consistant sights to use.
