After walking around the neighborhood for an hour or so, I came back home to find that right in my bedroom, I could catch a Polywhirl (or whatever its first evolution is) and a Venonat. I got both in my Pokeball all for the game to decide not to do the three shakes that prove you've actually caught it. It just sat there after the initial catch. After I refreshed the app two times for both of these errors, neither Pokemon would appear. Same thing happened when I wanted a Weepingbell. At least I managed to catch a few new ones as my mom dropped herself off at work this evening and I took the car back home. But something has GOT to be done about this -_-" Only reason I'm not more upset was because all of the losses happened on home turf so they'll likely appear again.
Here's another tip... DON'T GO AT NIGHT! Muggers found out that Pokemon GO requires people to move around, and what do they do? They stand outside a pokemon location visible to 10,000s of people. And wait for someone to come.
contrary to what you might think, 99% of people playing this game at night (which most likely arent children bc wtf parent is going to let their child walk around the city at 1am) have the common sense to not walk up to a pokestop in the middle of the night that has shady ass people standing around at it. we arent fucking retarded.

10, doesn't tell you the most important things about how to know in less then 10s what direction the pokemon is in. 9, wrong, the size of the circle has 0 effect on capture chance. Throwing it in the smallest of the two circles increases your chance, but as much when it is max size as it does when it is min size. It does, however effect your XP gain, 10 for nice, 50 for great and 100 for excellent. 8, the vibration varies per phone, it actually does for a lot of players when they get in reach of a pokestop 7, Please note, powering your pokemon up ALSO requires the same candy (but less). This means powering up your pokemon will mean it will take longer before you can evolve it! 6, You don't have to defeat the gymleader to lower prestige of the gym, every pokemon in the gym you defeat, lowers the prestige, even the 10 magicarp at the beginning some nawb put in. This also goes for powering up gyms of the same team, defeating one pokemon is enough to gain prestige. 5, The battery saver is currently NOT working for more people then that it is working for. Something worth mentioning how to actually save battery and data is to download the map of your area to your phone, in google maps. The game is using the google maps API (even on iOS), downloading the map to your phone means it has a lot, and i mean A FUCKING SHIT TON, less to connect to a server, which means the game is a tiny bit quicker, uses less power and less data. 4, please note that when the app is not open, the game doesn't count your distance. When the game IS open but you are in a menu (pokemon, eggs, player, settings, shop) the game is also NOT counting your distance as progression. It only counts it, when your phones is on and you are looking at the character and the world around him/her. The exception to this is for those few people the battery saver does work, the battery saver screen also counts. 3, besides showing what amazing things can be bought with pokecoins, it might be worth mentioning the pokecoins can not only be purchased with real life money, but can also be obtained in the game, by claiming your defence bonus from the gyms, every 21 hours. (10 coins and 500 dust per pokemon in a gym, with a maximum of 10, when at 10, rewards get doubled) 2, How is this "something you must know if you start playing", it is something that might someday be present in the future. This is SOOOOO just a filler item on the list so you can make 10 xD 1, While you mention a fake story, it might be worth to also note the people stopping on the free way to catch pokemons, the people walking on railroads to find pokemon, the players that put a poke lure into a close to abandoned pokestop and then robbed the people that got there, the people who died for not watching where they walk and falling down cliffs. So, due to those 10 things, ALL being either wrong, extremely incomplete or just fillers. I officially ask you to remove this terrible TERRIBLE video. Since it is more lies then truth, more wrong then right, more missing vital info then giving it and more putting people on the wrong idea then on the right.
I know this video is 6 years old,but i have to tell you something about Pokemon Go. If you think it's nice to live next to a Pokestop,in my opinion it's even better if you live near or next to a PokeGym. PokeGyms not only give you items (same as Pokestops),but if you take one with your side (meaning one of the 3 ingame teams blue,yellow,red) you can leave one of your Pokemon inside to protect the PokeGym and in return you get Pokecoins. As far as i know,a player has 2 ways to get Pokecoins 1 is through PokeGyms as i said and the 2nd is through ingame payment with real world money ( $ , € , yen ,etc). So,i think it's even better if someone lives near or next to a PokeGyms cause he/she doesn't have to pay anything for ingame items/stuff. Those are some lucky bastards. it seems Niantic wanted pokemon to have less power when your player level is low, so if you do happen to come across that Charizard at level 9, it'll have WAY less power than if you come across it at level 49 (50 seems to be the highest player level so far)
there is a ceiling raised for the pokemon you catch at a higher level, which does not seem to affect pokemon you catch at earlier times, so that 1300 CP flarion that you made maxed at level 12, will become obsolete when you hit player level 20
I don't have any pokestops near me. I mean NONE! I'd have to go a few miles to find one. I don't have a driver's license or a learner's permit. I am out of poke balls from trying to catch difficult pokemon. When I tried to catch a electrobuzz, it escaped and... blew up. I'm out of luck. I had to spend a dollar on pokeballs so that I can get more by leveling up by gaining xp from catching pokemon. Lol

10, doesn't tell you the most important things about how to know in less then 10s what direction the pokemon is in.
9, wrong, the size of the circle has 0 effect on capture chance. Throwing it in the smallest of the two circles increases your chance, but as much when it is max size as it does when it is min size. It does, however effect your XP gain, 10 for nice, 50 for great and 100 for excellent.
8, the vibration varies per phone, it actually does for a lot of players when they get in reach of a pokestop
7, Please note, powering your pokemon up ALSO requires the same candy (but less). This means powering up your pokemon will mean it will take longer before you can evolve it!
6, You don't have to defeat the gymleader to lower prestige of the gym, every pokemon in the gym you defeat, lowers the prestige, even the 10 magicarp at the beginning some nawb put in. This also goes for powering up gyms of the same team, defeating one pokemon is enough to gain prestige.
5, The battery saver is currently NOT working for more people then that it is working for. Something worth mentioning how to actually save battery and data is to download the map of your area to your phone, in google maps. The game is using the google maps API (even on iOS), downloading the map to your phone means it has a lot, and i mean A FUCKING SHIT TON, less to connect to a server, which means the game is a tiny bit quicker, uses less power and less data.
4, please note that when the app is not open, the game doesn't count your distance. When the game IS open but you are in a menu (pokemon, eggs, player, settings, shop) the game is also NOT counting your distance as progression. It only counts it, when your phones is on and you are looking at the character and the world around him/her. The exception to this is for those few people the battery saver does work, the battery saver screen also counts.
3, besides showing what amazing things can be bought with pokecoins, it might be worth mentioning the pokecoins can not only be purchased with real life money, but can also be obtained in the game, by claiming your defence bonus from the gyms, every 21 hours. (10 coins and 500 dust per pokemon in a gym, with a maximum of 10, when at 10, rewards get doubled)
2, How is this "something you must know if you start playing", it is something that might someday be present in the future. This is SOOOOO just a filler item on the list so you can make 10 xD
1, While you mention a fake story, it might be worth to also note the people stopping on the free way to catch pokemons, the people walking on railroads to find pokemon, the players that put a poke lure into a close to abandoned pokestop and then robbed the people that got there, the people who died for not watching where they walk and falling down cliffs.
So, due to those 10 things, ALL being either wrong, extremely incomplete or just fillers. I officially ask you to remove this terrible TERRIBLE video. Since it is more lies then truth, more wrong then right, more missing vital info then giving it and more putting people on the wrong idea then on the right.

I know this video is 6 years old,but i have to tell you something about Pokemon Go. If you think it's nice to live next to a Pokestop,in my opinion it's even better if you live near or next to a PokeGym. PokeGyms not only give you items (same as Pokestops),but if you take one with your side (meaning one of the 3 ingame teams blue,yellow,red) you can leave one of your Pokemon inside to protect the PokeGym and in return you get Pokecoins. As far as i know,a player has 2 ways to get Pokecoins 1 is through PokeGyms as i said and the 2nd is through ingame payment with real world money ( $ , € , yen ,etc). So,i think it's even better if someone lives near or next to a PokeGyms cause he/she doesn't have to pay anything for ingame items/stuff. Those are some lucky bastards. XD Pardon my expressions at the end,i was only trying to make a little joke. :)

I can't be alone in thinking CP was a bad choice for re-tagging HP or hit-points like every other game ever uses.
It isn't. HP still exists, CP is how the denote level.
Although you are correct, the underlining issue of the acronym for "Combat Points" is still there, they should have just made it "level" instead.
+termanight it would have been better if CP and Level was used, like a rare pokemon can be a mid level with a very high CP. or a pokemon witha a high level does not have that great of a cp. that way we can just use candies on upgrading the CP while battling can increase a level.
it seems Niantic wanted pokemon to have less power when your player level is low, so if you do happen to come across that Charizard at level 9, it'll have WAY less power than if you come across it at level 49 (50 seems to be the highest player level so far)
there is a ceiling raised for the pokemon you catch at a higher level, which does not seem to affect pokemon you catch at earlier times, so that 1300 CP flarion that you made maxed at level 12, will become obsolete when you hit player level 20

I don't have any pokestops near me. I mean NONE! I'd have to go a few miles to find one. I don't have a driver's license or a learner's permit. I am out of poke balls from trying to catch difficult pokemon. When I tried to catch a electrobuzz, it escaped and... blew up. I'm out of luck. I had to spend a dollar on pokeballs so that I can get more by leveling up by gaining xp from catching pokemon. Lol
