Thank you so much for this video. I recently discovered screen printing but find the ready made stencils to be quite costly. Your instructions are very clear and I believe I can now do a better job using my own designs.
Thank you I learned all the things about multi color screen printing that had me baffled, and with my current financial ordering that Beautiful color you used was out of the question for me but, I was able to get it by mixing some colors together. Thanks so very much.
If it's a design that you make a lot of you can iron on HTV to a screen for multiple screen prints. At least that's from the research I've been able to find.
do you need to put any paper in between the shirt so paint won't go through to the other side? I have the speed ball screen and paint and I also have the new we r memories keepers screen print kit they just came out with
I put card stock inside the shirt while using the paint, then I put my Cricut pressing mat inside the shirt for setting the paint. I also place a Teflon sheet over the paint while setting, to keep the heat press clean.
Great tutorial! I can't wait to use the methods to DIY my first Cricut screen printing with multiple colors. One thing I noticed though is that it was mentioned to quickly clean screen after apply print to shirt. If I were planning to do multiple shirts with same design such as the cut file in this video with multiple colors would still be wise to handle each one separately as shown in the video?
@@auponywhen you heat press your shirt after screen printing, what do you protect your press with? Do you use butcher paper as your blowout sheet or do you use parchment paper (between your T-shirt and your press)? Thank you!
Say, I was making 10 shirts with that on it, could I do all 10 the shirts with the white(a little bit of) paint first, let dry and then come back and do all 10 shirts with the pink (Dolly), let dry and come back and finish all 10 with the green (Miranda)?
I actually bought a screen printing kit awhile back and it's still in the "kit". I got it for Makers University and life happened and I just never got finished doing MU. I think I may break out the kit after I get some colors to do some shirts with. lol
Ruthshell, I didn't see an answer and wanted to help. If using a Cricut machine you cannot cut more than 11.5, therefore you need registration marks. You would need to adjust the vinyl size to include the registration marks not going over the 11.5 width. I hope this helps.
I tried screen printing for the first time last week but the ink design cracked after washing. Is there specific care for fabric afterwards or is there any tips of what I did wrong?

Great tutorial! Thank u for teaching us this!! Can’t wait to get the courage to try.
You can do it!❤
Wow! Great tutorial.
Glad you liked it!
Nice video. Can you explain how to wash the silk screen without the vinyl coming off? Thanx for the info.
I have same problem. My vinyl always comes off when I wash screen.

I thought you had to heat set with a heat press after it’s dry to make it permanent.
Probably didn't have to since she used the heat gun, but I don't really know. Lol
I set it with a heat press at the end even if I use a heat gun
I do heat set mine just to be sure. It only takes a minute to do and I think it will ensure the design lasts much longer.

@@maricelafortuna9834 I use parchment paper.
What would you prefer for long term work wear, htv StarCraft soft flex or screen print?
Thanks.
You're welcome!
I really ❤ that.
Thank you!
Very nice
Thank you!🙂
How many prints can you get out of a single stencil? Mine started failing at 4. I need to make 60 pieces--two color dishcloths for Christmas...

Instead of using permanent vinyl and making registration marks.. is it possible to use the clear sticker paper?

Can you use removable vinyl for this?
No it won't stick
On the taping and registration marks… could you have cut the vinyl 12x12 so you don’t have to tape the edges, I’m really new new to SP… just asking?

No, but it is much easier tape the edges on the other side of the screen, just to seal the edge of your vinyl.

Your ink wasn't cured properly.
@@poseyjames4365 Do you have any input on how to cure it properly then? I used a heat gun to dry and left them out for 24 hrs before wash.
@@haleyatkins4614 maybe heat press after painting?
I've always seen that you need to heat press it and then let it sit for 24 hours before washing.
@@amiewilkins459 That seemed to work. Thank you!
What is the name of this software design use for this job
She used Cricut Design Space to cut out the design in vinyl.
Question: in the materials list it shows a 10" x 14" screen and a 12" squeegee. How would that work if you wanted to use the screen the long way?
Just work with the long edge horizontal
Are you just eyeballing the center of the image to the Tshirt?
