We stayed at Balranald for 4 nights at start of summer. What an amazing place. We heard plenty corncrakes, but never did see any. Will need to try again.
How come we can’t see them, they’re like the otters🙈🤣. What kind of weather did you have? Yes you need to come back and try again, but I’m glad you heard them, that’s pretty cool. I think I’ll need to sit out for a day, wonder when they go back to Africa tho, I’ll need to check. Ix

As for otters..... well I reckon they have put word about about you & your camera, island telegraph 🤣 My mum thinks you're American (she's 93, I think it's the old folk 😉) so you have been USA, Welsh & Irish. They all want their ears syringed and of course US accent IS made up of Scots/Irish/Dutch etc!! That's what my mum's hearing! Can't wait for your next one. xx

Balranald nature reserve looks like a nice place but it's a shame you didn't see a corncrake, maybe next time. You can still hear the wind with the mic but it wasn't as loud, or was the wind dying down? Great sharing Iona. 🙏👍
