@@dolo3 High Vertical = very explosive. The vertical itself is a measure of explosiveness. Speed is also directly related to explosiveness which is why faster players also tend to have a higher vertical.

That was as much anticipating the snap count correctly as well as the quick jump. If you slow down it frame by frame, you will see that Miller is already in the Patriots' side of the scrimmage while the ball is still being in the air after being snapped. Nobody else on the Denver side has moved.

If Joey’s proved one thing, it’s that you don’t need to be Myles Garrett to be a stud pass rusher. They both aren’t athletic wet dreams but out hustle and outwit many linemen to produce on the same level as many other top tier pass rushers.
Bosa won DPOY, and got one of the best pass-rushing games I've ever seen this year. That's with getting double-teamed because the lack of a pass rush in LA.
My issue with your emphasis on that 2017 Oklahoma game as a indicator of how he’ll do against NFL OL is the point in his career at the time it was played. He didn’t start a single game as a freshman (still saw significant time/snaps) but that Oklahoma game in his sophomore year was only his second start ever. Just some food for thought. Nick has 600 less collegiate snaps than Joey going into the draft.

I like Allen as a better prospect due to his raw athleticism. played in the SEC and was the only one u had to worry about when you played Kentucky and he still had 17+ sacks. Nick has the technique but that can be taught. Buckner was just that coming into the league. 2 years later he has double digit sack love the vids man keep it up!
if technique could just be taught to everyone then bosa wouldn't be a prospect at all. The point is he's already mastered some levels of technique that some defensive lineman will never reach in their whole career

This was a really interesting analysis. As an Ohio State fan, all I’ve heard is how both are generational talents. Lots of good insights as to how both brothers are limited physically. That being said, what makes these guys special is their physicality and mentality. Even going back to their freshman highlight tapes at Aquinas HS, it’s evident that both of these guys are straight up old school football players. They’re physical and relentless every single play, and when they get their hands on QBs they beat the hell out of them. Like you said, I think both guys have such high floors they’re hard to pass up.
Another great breakdown. This kind of helps explain why I wasn’t 100% excited about my 49ers taking Nick Bosa. I still think it’s the right pick at the end of the day because we can absolutely lock down the edge rush position on our team which has been our biggest weakness for years.

Every 49ers game I’ve watched this season it seems like every play Nick is influencing. If he’s not getting a sack, closing up running lanes, or forcing a fumble, he’s pressuring the absolute crap outta the QB! Idk if team’s are just showing him a lack of respect because he’s only a rookie or his supporting cast really helps his game but I find myself yelling “OMG, Bosa!” a lot more than any player before.

Bosa had a 1.60 10 yard split, so that kind of defeats your 1st step argument. At 266 lbs, he's only .1s behind a 20 lb lighter Vonn Miller

Every 49ers game I’ve watched this season it seems like every play Nick is influencing. If he’s not getting a sack, closing up running lanes, or forcing a fumble, he’s pressuring the absolute crap outta the QB! Idk if team’s are just showing him a lack of respect because he’s only a rookie or his supporting cast really helps his game but I find myself yelling “OMG, Bosa!” a lot more than any player before.
