  • After watching Saiki K's videos for the first time in a while,
I got a craving for coffee jelly, so I decided to make some.🍮☕
Since it is not interesting to just show you how to make it,
in this video I would like to compare the results of using gelatin and using agar.
By the way, did you know that coffee jelly originated in Japan??
It originated in the 1920s, about 100 years ago.

      Kagoshima sounds wonderful😄
I visited once on a trip.
I’d love to go again when I return to Japan.

if you want to eat coffee jelly by itself, use gelatin because of it's soft texture... if you want to make coffee jelly with any drinks, use agar 😊😊

Good idea! Using agar would keep the coffee jelly nice and firm😀
I wish I had made the video using that idea.

@ChefJLABO Summer is the best time to enjoy coffee jello with cream. 手作りは美味しいですが前わたしはなかなか柔らかいコーヒージェロを作れません。 なんかゴムみたい🙄だから私は諦めて買う事が多かった. でもビデオを見て改めて作って見ようと思います。

      @coldbrew974 I couldn’t agree more😀
The combination of coffee jello and cream is perfect for a refreshing summer treat👍
      ゴムみたいになってしまったということはコーヒーの量に対して、ゼラチンの量が多かったのかもしれません😅
      このレシピで作ってみてください😉

Which one was better, agar or gelatin?

      Thanks for your comment😀
It depends on personal preference, but I prefer gelatin.
Although it was cut from the video, the version made with the Japanese agar that I mentioned in the video has the texture I like the most.
