Doing a timing chain service on my R51 and I have noticed that the top of each chain tensioner piston is looking very worn. The top tensioner piston has worn to the point that the small hole in the top of it has worn over closing off the hole. I'm changing the tensioners of course but could this kind of wear be considered normal on a vehicle tbat has done 200000+ km or is my oil pump on the way out? Old chains were not showing any excessive wear.
I have an ongoing problem with my tensioners. I have changed the upper twice. But every 10k or so the problem comes back. I get a bit of knock on startup. It goes away when the oil pressure light goes out. The problem worsens when I don’t drive the truck for a day or two. What causes the tensioner too loose oil pressure over night? And what’s causing it too fail prematurely?
What does it sound like when this has happened to a tensioner? My engine is running well after installing but i get a loud clack or tap sound if i hit the accelerator quickly. Car will make the sound while in park or when moving from a stopped position.
I need your help, my yd25 had a runaway because of leaking injectors, I have replaced the injectors but it still doesn't start, the only code is shows is a p0113 your help Will be appreciated 😢

Well, i didnt do/know to do that when I did mine!
Most of the time it's fine only matters for first start up.

have you had the cylinder head replaced at some point?

Will make a rattling sound because the chains won't have tension
I don't have a rattle sound just this loud click noise if stab and release the accelerator. Starting to think it might be the alternator pully.
@@troymckibbin528 if its Manuel Mabey the dual mass flywheel
It's an auto. I'll remove the belts and see if I still get the same noise.
Hi will the tensioner work without the fail safe
Most of the time it’ll be fine but it prevents damage on first startup and if the chains are stretched it prevents it from being able to jump teeth

@@ALFAMUSIC2 do a compression test
@@yd2532 how much compression would be normal and if it's low what should I do
@@ALFAMUSIC2 around 400psi if it's low gotta rebuild the engine
I realy apreciate you, but this is realy bullshit !!😅
