HUGE fan of that wobbly crosshair. does it just move around based on whether the player is sprinting, melee'ing, etc, or is it tied to the viewmodel animation somehow?
it looks like its world space projection were it takes the default camera position and places it there, then when the camera moves in anyway it stays in place
Half Life 3 is looking good tonight! I love how the combine react to every bullet the get shot with because in HL2 they were just glorified bullet sponges that only rag doll have taking the last one to the dome peice.
He has other videos showing off how they’ll actively flank you, hide behind cover, use grenades to flush you out of cover, and occasionally spawn a robot that’s basically a manhack with the Houndey’s shock wave.
This is definitely better than having to use a designated melee weapon. I’m guessing that this comes with the small price of removing the alt fire. If so I’d say that’s a small sacrifice. Keep up the good work!
Like I said previously it’s an acceptable cost. Personally I much prefer being able to melee with the gun you’re holding, rather than a dedicated melee weapon you have to swap to. I like how the health/shields are like a mix between the suit in Half Life, and the shields in Halo (specifically CE because that’s when you had health packs. I miss those). Do you know if he’s planning on releasing a build anytime soon, or most likely not?
Looks like halo with those shield and cover mechanics. Extremely polished as well - I know it's not really in the half life spirit, but bullet time would suit this so well. The slower pace seems a little 'off' with the ingame locomotion anims though (the gun wobble that occurs when you move) maybe make that a little stronger?
This looks like it will be an amazing mod (if it will be a mod), I hope I'll be able to play this soon and keep up the good work. Can you also give more info on this project

It's from camera movement like screen shake, view punch, bobbing etc

Reminds me of the AI flinching from Trepang2, only not as high quality.
