For anyone who comes across this now. As I was watching this video, I had a random thought to just go into my monitor settings, switch to a port I’m not using then switch back. My desktop popped up immediately.

I was restarting my pc for a long time i closed it and opened it i ddi this for 1 hour straight then i Plugged out the 2nd hdmi cable and it worked thank you so much i just wasted like 5 hours
Quick fix for me was to just wait an unusually long amount of time after hitting the power button (like 5 minutes of just black screen after that) because the night before Windows had asked "Shut down and update?" and I said, "yes". Patience....
Love the fact i rebooted my laptop 3 times in a row at the wrong time and it worked. It didn't even put me in safe mode. Thanks for the tutorial tho...

So I have gotten as far as booting into normal mode after safe mode and uninstalling the old driver, but while in the process of downloading the drivers for my card (Radeon R9 270x), my monitor black screens. Thanks for your help so far.
Ever since around March 2022 I have been receiving comments regarding their pc having black screen, glitches and freezing after installing the latest amd gpu driver. This is the driver's fault so I suggest never install the optional version, install the recommended and if the recommended version is still causing this problems in your pc i suggest use the amd driver version that worked for your pc before and i hope you can still remember that specific version. Perhaps it is in your download folder.

the reason that's why i can't show how to install back the gpu driver is because there are tons of driver versions depending on what gpu you have. As for you check this link www.amd.com/en/support and look for the name of your gpu

One way i fixed mine was i opened up my pc, took out the gpu and cleaned off some of the dust along with the rest of the computer, plug it back in and it worked again. Also make sure that your cable connecting to your monitor is plugged into the gpu when doing this and not the motherboard.
Thanks so much! I got my macbook air running windows to start again after facing the black screen issue by uninstalling the intel graphics drivers through safe mode. It finally made sense why my screen worked just fine in safe mode but not when starting up without it!

2:35 what if you're in the same boat as I? I haven't picked up a hardrive yet. All I have is an ssd and I never formatted or moved the windows install media to the ssd. I thought I could get away with leaving it on the flash drive.
I had it plugged into the wrong display port or my HDMI For my second monitor was in the wrong Hdmi spot and it messed with the functions Idk but I got it fixed. It maybe would have took 10 seconds if I did everything quickly but it took 5 mins for me to test out the console method so thank you!!!
its weird the screen is just black but there's power to it then after a few seconds you can actually hear the windows theme (its intro) meaning its on, but its screen s just black ://
try replacing the monitor cable (hdmi,dp). If you're using an adapter like this ruclips.net/user/shortsPzGdrbL_0nI then that might be the problem. If you already replace the cables and still black screen your monitor might be faulty, ask a friend to try your pc using their monitor to double check

I’ve been having this issue so I followed your guide uninstalled the display adapter. This worked fine for 5 mins, opened perfectly and let me use normally. Then the screen went black and I was back to where I started. Any ideas? Thanks
try it again, this time update windows to the latest. If you're using nvidia gpu update to the latest driver, if you're using amd try to use version 20.9.1 instead of the latest driver

I had this issue on my brand new prebuilt , it started doing it when I changed my monitor to 240hz . It ran perfectly when it’s set at 120hz though , doesn’t like 240hz for some reason ☹️

Turns out I was booting from my usb that wasn’t supposed to be bootable, but it was, I checked my boot manager and it was booting from the usb, I fixed the issue, but thanks for the solutions 🙏

On my All-in-One PC (Lenovo C50-30) something completely different worked: unplug the power cord and press and hold the power switch for 30 seconds. PC drains its internal rest of energy (maybe capacitors or something) and then, when connected to the power again, it suddenly started entirely normal. Thank goodness!

My computer's issue was related to the proper graphics card driver. I had to use AMD's software. Thanks for the video.

I’ve been having this issue so I followed your guide uninstalled the display adapter. This worked fine for 5 mins, opened perfectly and let me use normally. Then the screen went black and I was back to where I started. Any ideas? Thanks
try it again, this time update windows to the latest. If you're using nvidia gpu update to the latest driver, if you're using amd try to use version 20.9.1 instead of the latest driver
Same thing is happening to me right now. It boots windows normally and after 5minutes back to the black screen. Idk what to do

I’ve just got a PC plugged it in done everything blah blah blah. Anyway, the screen was black (originally it was on the windows “setting up” screen but just froze until my dad re-started it) Furthermore, I hope this video helps and helped anyone who needed it. 😊

I had this issue on my brand new prebuilt , it started doing it when I changed my monitor to 240hz . It ran perfectly when it’s set at 120hz though , doesn’t like 240hz for some reason ☹️
240hz might be too much for the system, usually it'll shut itself down or lose signal.

@@rudyramos4028 beast bro! You need to download the latest driver www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx and if you already have and still doesn't work you have to DDU your gpu driver
I just used a different 6 pin cable for my gpu and it worked!!

Turns out I was booting from my usb that wasn’t supposed to be bootable, but it was, I checked my boot manager and it was booting from the usb, I fixed the issue, but thanks for the solutions 🙏

im over here sheting bricks i removed my hdd and my screen was still black made me think it was my rtx 3090 😐😭 but after booting to safe mode and reinstalling windows on my ssd not my hdd!!!!my 5 hour problem has been solved thank you my friend

On my All-in-One PC (Lenovo C50-30) something completely different worked: unplug the power cord and press and hold the power switch for 30 seconds. PC drains its internal rest of energy (maybe capacitors or something) and then, when connected to the power again, it suddenly started entirely normal. Thank goodness!
