I've been daily driving a Model S Plaid for a while now. Today I give an honest review about the car and my experience owning it. We cover the exterior, interior, driving, performance, & more! If you have any other questions about the car, leave them below and I'd love to answer them!

@90k is this a steal. You can easily find a used Plaid wirh 5-6k miles in mid to low 70's now. Unreal value.
They just released the track package which gets you new wheels as well plus ceramic brakes; they also unlock 200mph peformnce and maybe others. $15-20k. Most won't be driving fast enough to need it, but it's there for those that want that level.
Now I need to trade it in for that package haha
Unfortunately Kyle is mistaken about a couple of things in this video - at the top of the list is that those 21 inch wheels were always an option on the Plaid model.

@@letsgokyle Absolutely no need to trade in the car. It's a package added at the Service Center. You can't order a new Model S with the track package.
This is so cheesy but, I actually cried tears of excitement seeing this car being summoned. So cool!
Pretty soon it will pick you up right as you walk out of the grocery store.
The plaid is the slick and very practical elegant car !! The king of the road for sure any time any where can smoke any car on the road !!!

First of all, you're pretty damn charismatic. Second of all, the first time I tried Summon on my Tesla, and I saw it steer on its own, I got the chills. (And then I never really used it ever again.)

I agree man, once I test drove mine I couldnt beleive it. Its so smooth when i want it to be and with a touch of some buttons it will rip your face off.

How is the paint quality from Tesla on the 2022's ? The paint was an issue early on.
I love the refresh on the tail lights, but I have yet to see a vehicle where they are actually lined up. It's insane.

@@letsgokyleHey heads up, I took delivery a few weeks ago and noticed it immediately. Mine looked a lot like yours, where it seemed like the trunk just needed to be pushed down a tad. I scheduled an appointment with service and they were able to align them. If you haven't yet tried, it's worth a shot!

I also don't like the yoke. Or the indicator buttons. Or the gear change on the ipad.
there's also a gear change on the console but for some reason mine works like 50% of the time.
Video work is 👌🏽. Feels actually like I'm standing beside as opposed to some reviews where gets too microscopic. I'd take the X plaid cause of room and stealth, but you do a good job describing how simple or is to use daily despite performance.

Turo wasn't that great. They just lowered the price so I kind of got hosed on this purchase. I was getting like $300-$4000 a day but only renting a few days a month.

Purchased a Used 2018 P100D, Came from audis/bmws/mercs as well and its crazy how much better it has been! I'm loving Tesla so far. I'm curious how life would be with a Plaid and the yoke but I would def consider an upgrade within a few years for sure. The P100D Is a lower slower but it's no slouch obviously. The used market for a plaid has also been amazing I would got for used instead of new but thats just me!

@@DuckRiceFarmer Yep, I put a Hansshow yoke on my P100D and I'm loving it!! It's like I'm driving a whole new car without trading it in. Haha Only took me 15 mins to install myself too, thanks to the many YT videos out there. Highly recommended to upgrade!
No matter what sports car you have or like. my Tesla S never needs any maintenance after 2 years of performance driving so far. No oil leaks or head gasket repairs makes me satisfied period

I've been thinking about getting Martian Wheels...20"...Lighter than the stock 19". I got the 19" because they're faster than the 21" Stock. With the Track Package..it should do up to 220mph...

Have you taken the front number plate frame off? Not so easy!!
I haven't yet i'm a little lazy gonna have the people that do my tints do it.
The first part comes off relatively easily except for the torx screws. Then there is a piece underneath which is attached from behind, so you have to remove the front bumper to get to the fasteners....! I ended up just putting the top part back. Too much effort required!@@letsgokyle

When the yoke came out I thought everyone would love it but seems everyone hates it? wth. Maybe its just way too different to get used to? idk. i think its cool and would like it. I mean, it sort of fits anyway. you`re operating a missle on four tires. ;-)

just ordered mine 2 weeks ago, I hope they don'y put that front license plate on it.
I think just NJ and OR use front plates. Maybe a couple of others too, but most states don’t.
Front plates in California are mandatory too.
Some are super strict on it. I got tickets in denver all the time for not having a front plate.

I love the simplicity.
At the end of the video you said the stores will let you drive a plaid. Will they? They must have changed it from before. I have test driven/rented combined about 12 different teslas. The first one was a model s at a store in 2018, they went with you then and would not let you drive a p100d unless you were absolutely positively buying one. So I just drove a regular model s, then a couple weeks later I got an overnight with a regular model s. Then I drove a model x p100d (they said the only demos they has were p100d, that's why they let me drive it). I have rented a p100d model s and x since then, and also a plaid model s. I have not tested driven either at the store, but I have test driven a model y and 3. The 3 was a performance even though I specifically asked for a long range. The model y was a long range- they don't go with you anymore- or at least they didn't me at my 'local' store. Maybe because they know I have never had a single issue with the overnighters I had? (Total of 4 nights - two with the model s and then 2 with a model x p100d..).
Next year I am hoping to purchase a model y. Would prefer a model 3, but I can't stand that the front floorboard is not flat, and it hurts my foot because that (where the hump is) is where I naturally rest it.
Crazy I drove ludicrous back in the day as a couple of young dudes with no proof of serious intent to buy.
I think that must have been the discretion of the sales person or so. I’ve test driven a few different models at the same facility near the tesla Fremont plant and each time it was different. One time I walked in and they told me to go out and drive it on my own for 20 minutes or so. Another time I had to make an appointment and the advisor literally had me drive around the block, a total of 2-3 minute drive. I really think it’s just up in the air and how the sales people are feeling that day. I dream of having a plaid model x (I need the extra space) but currently have a base model 3, which I absolutely love and am happy with. I used to think tesla vehicles were expensive (all cars are in 2023) but compared to all the other brands releasing EV vehicles, teslas are by far the cheapest available. The Bolt Is cheaper but I don’t feel you get as much as the tesla or other manufacturer models so I don’t really include them in the price comparison. Going on 3 years of ownership and only rotated tires and replaced the cabin filters. NOT BAD AT ALL!

I don't get why America allows people to not use front license plates, the amount of sentry mode footage that I watch where only the front of the perpetrators car is visible but they don't have a front license plate so the victim cant make an insurance claim, in Ireland you have to have both a front and back license plate.
I'm in California and we get a big ticket for not having both plates. Other states might not require both.

I'm surprized Tesla opt for a glass roof in the hot US, the heat radiation must be intense. My late dad once fitted a glass sunroof to his 1964 Austin Westminster, the worst thing he could've done, the car became an oven.
It's pretty reflective but... you do notice on the VERY hot days.

Taillights aren’t aligned with eachother. Trunk portion is higher than the outer. I believe it can be adjusted.
The only thing i've really noticed in a big way is the charging port is not super aligned. The other stuff is not that noticeable in my opinion.. You guys seem to have higher standards.
@@letsgokyle when it’s put out there that the fitment isn’t good you start to look for it. Especially the owner who spends that kind of money. I honestly wouldn’t mind a panel misalignment but something that lights up that has an inner and outer taillight would bother me personally just because when it’s lit you would tell like exactly at 10:50. I think they said there’s a knob above the taillight that you can manually adjust how much the trunk closes shut. Where is it exactly? Idk.
