Young man, this is outstanding. I am sure they chose you because of your wit and charm. I would like to suggest that you practice making speeches without reading them. That will put the icing on the cake of your great stage presence and ability to communicate. You have a terrific future, maybe in politics or stand up comedy. But whatever you do, your charisma will follow you. Just do this one thing to become a great speaker and you will go far.
Agreed with yipy - Great speech, but it isn't ever so good to see someone reading to the crowd from a paper. In my opinion, it is better to bounce offroad and just speak spontaniously, even if it means making a few mistakes. Anyway, it held my attention, so no complaints... and congrats to the lucky graduate!!!
Not a good speech, because it is read from notes. Check out F. Lee Bailey's video on giving a speech. Never read from notes. You lose eye contact with the audience. Compare Conan's speech to Dartmouth grads. That was good.
so true, this video is just another one of those videos that kids post saying "the best ....ever" It's just an overprivileged kid graduating first, I doubt he's the first in his family to graduate or had to overcome extentuating circumstances that challenged him to look deep within for the words of inspiration for an entire audience of generations to come. He can go to hell and burn for having the conceit and arrogance to title his lame repertoire as "the best graduation speech ever"
no way could i have ever done what this kid did. i get chuckled up just having to do personal introductions in a class or a job orientation. the only way i can make it through it is to literally be on some type of substance or my nerves ALWAYS end up gettin the best of me. If Im just cutting up and talking to the class its all fine and dandy, but when everyone has to be quiet and zone in on me at one time, and i have to give a report or speech, good fucking luck, cause im about to make a fool
@Som1kewl Ok, so first of all I'm older than you, so I don't know about this 'kid' thing. Second, not to brag, but I entertain on stage for a living and also have a lot of experience of delivering speeches. I have no intent to bitch about anything, I only tried to give som polite advice, which I thought I did. You, on the other hand, seems to be quite rude. It's ok. Why do you even bother, though?! Whatever... ;-)
This was really funny, I really liked it! All of the comments saying that he shouldn't laugh at his own jokes are just dumb, he is a high school kid at his grad, do you think that anyone in the audience cares that he laughed at his own jokes. No. Because they were laughing at how funny he is. He isn't a stand up comedian, he doesn't do this professionally, it's his speech, he can do whatever the fuck he wants. You people need to chill.
it doesn't matter to me, a person's worth isn't valued by their current employment or the amount of money he/she generates. A person is much more than that and although I didn't like this young man's speech (he's older than me by the way) I hope he is doing well in mind and level of content.
The speech is very nice, but you sound like you're reading frrom the paper, not delivering a 'speech'. And also, as has already been mentioned, in your next speech, try to keep a straight face while tellng jokes. Other than that, very well done.
@KristianoNr7 its not about having balls, maybe you dont know much about social anxiety from the comments you make, obviously you dont. but its a serious ordeal and its not something you can just "shut off"
My graduating class had almost 1000 kids & we split into new high schools my sophomore & senior yr. If we hadn't my class would've been just under 4000 kids. It's crazy to think only 27 kids.
Splendid. I was impressed and overjoyed by this verbal discourse. As a professor of English at Oxford University the entire experience was satisfactory and blew my sock off I say. Never have I seen such confidence in a man so susceptible to be overcome by the emotions of joy and splendour with the essence of humility that is ingrained in the collective psyche of our rudimentary servitude to ideals that are the epitome of vision and wisdom. My friends and I shall share fine wine to this speech.
An awesome speech. Though I still think the best graduation speech was by my son David Turer, the President of his senior class at Horace Greeley High School in 2012, which is on youtube. I may be biased though!

This is a GREAT SPEECH! I used this for my assignment for my public speaking class and I'm glad I did. Its going to help with my future speeches.
Help me write my valedictorian speech? haha GREAT JOB! I loved it, my speech isn't going to be as great as this, but hey it is what it is.
The speech was awesome funny witty and yet source full

Dude, u so funny!

haha haha this is so funny!!😍😘
Sorry, not the best graduation speech ever. Too hurrying, too much paper peeking, not enough eye contact with the audience.
Great!!!!!! :D

All the humor in the world cannot redeem the self-centeredness of the speaker. No ethical appeal = Hardly the "best graduation speech ever".
God, if George W. would be here he would be tears about the son that he never had.
no gowns for this? other than that, great speech!
i spent 4 seconds reading your comment. the i spent 10 seconds insulting you in my head, now i'll never get that time back.
Does anybody know of a speech that says something like this: Finnaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllyyyyy, I'm done with this shit, cya bitches! ?
@Viczko He's a high school student, not a stand up comedian. I think he did a great job, and it was a very well-written speech.
I also enjoyed the nervous ticking of his eyebrows at the end. But in all honesty, it was a very well written speech.
hahahahahahaha u mad bro? theres nothing to relearn i attend one of the top high schools in my country so smd
Yes, I definitely hope this kid is making something of himself.
cant everyone just get alone with out hurtful stereotypes? seriously does that solve anything?
Reading from a paper is not how a proper speech is given (you had some good jokes though)
@fifthtime111 he's not arrogant, that's how a graduation speech is supposed to be done -.-
'without luke and i'--wtf--a high school graduate should know that it's luke and me
@FathomLordKarathr
Haha! You should be pleased to know I am indeed a young woman.

There's nothing stupid about that. I gave the grammatically correct form.
