I started plaits with my natural hair to keep my hands out of it and as part of a new hair care routine and in 2 months my hair has grown so much and so fast. It’s currently down a little past my collarbone. Keeping consistency helps a lot. 💯
You are a rockstar! Thank you for these fab tips! My hair is long after having to regrow it when the salon broke it off. My original stylist helped my hair grow but she left and the new one was horrible; I should never have let her touch my hair. But one of the things I wish I would have done was to keep wearing protective styles. I wear lacefronts and when I first started wearing them, my hair grew a lot, then I stopped wearing everything, but the occasional braid and I was getting highlights too, never again. When my hair broke off, I made a vow that I would wear them until my hair grew back and beyond. I got tired of the bun and my curly hair wasn't long enough to be very versatile with the styling. Now that my hair is even longer than it was then, I know what to do and have followed many of the very same tips you mentioned to get me there, I don't trim unless I need it which is rarely because my hair isn't exposed. Thanks for all you do I pray you have much success!
I finally started listening to my scalp and started washing my hair twice a week. I noticed that it would start itch mid-week so between that and the pollen levels we had this spring I figured twice a week might be a good thing.
Jennifer Claudio my scalp starts itching right away too. I thought I was going crazy😂 I never considered washing it again so soon. Maybe I should if I ever can find time.
@@rachelk4914 that's the hard part, making the time. But it's either that or having an itchy scalp. Also, I started thinking about how much dust and pollen probably gets trapped in my hair and I was hoping my allergies might be a bit better 8f I can get all that gunk out.
I used to wash my hair twice a week because by day 3 i would start digging. Thing is, constant washing and detangling will lead to breakage and loss of more hair. Now I can go two weeks without washing and I lose WAY less hair. What helped me achieve this was a few things: - i wash my hair once every 2 weeks, but in those two weeks i will deep condition biweekly. - your shampoo can be very drying for your scalp, similar to dry unmoisturized skin. Dilute it or prepoo with oil on your scalp before you wash. - moisturizing my scalp daily or every other day with oil - The one that really took the cake was onion juice as a prepoo. The sulfur is perfect for growth and itchy scalp, this has been the only thing to help me.
I'm a 2x a year trim, satin pillowcase, silk scarf, low porosity, deep condition, once a month blowout in fall/winter only kinda girl. Ebony thanks SO much queen as these things are great reminders that enables me to maintain my thigh length hair. Your hair is ALWAYS so beautiful😍👍
@@bossqueen100 Its been long since I was a little girl but I grew it longer when I stopped using sulfate based shampoo, deep conditioned more, I've NEVER had my hair blowdried (only wash and sets) I wear it in 2 wavy braids or bun in summer to air dry, 1x a month wash/set root blow in fall/winter only, tea rinses, castor oil, Vatika Indian hair oil, great diet and vitamin supplements ( omega 3/6/9, iron, MSM, Biotin, blunt ends only and I'm protein sensitive with low porosity hair. Satin scarf over 5 large pincurls at night and aloe Vera juice and gel helps with ph balance. Water water water like Ebony says. Hope this helps😍
ieeeeeee ....know! I KNOW CHIILE I KNOW! 😩😆 Maybe it’s in the water or whatevuhhh. I’m joking. Good hair care (Is what they all say) and good genes 🧬 Which is the real story ‼️ Lets us all say a prayer for our scalps 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 and ask our ancestors or whatevuuuhh
I stopped all non-natural hair practices and products after having hair damage from a poorly done perm at a salon and thankfully the curl and the "life", as well as the length came bk to my hair. Later, I started using heat on my own, but mistakenly did it much too often and my hair started breaking and thinning at the ends. I found your channel and it's teaching me some new healthy hair practices that are working really well for me as I try to undo this recent damage. Thank you so much for sharing your "hair stories" with all of us!😘
I’ve been stuck between waist and hip length for YEARS. The only things I need to do better about is deep conditioning and wearing a bonnet. I really want to get out of this rut and finally. I finally stopped trimming so often, people swore I needed a 2 inch trim every 3 months. Great video Ebony!
After sleeping with satin bonnet, deep conditioning, daily misting, washing on regular bases, using great conditioner my hair loves, great leave in conditioner, no heat at all after three years being natural had bad heat damage three year, use rice water for repair slip ends and damaged area, now four years natural and one year now no heat at all, take vitamins, biotin etc, keep ends oiled with black Jamaican Castrol oil, wear protective styles, finger detangle, drink only water for past 17years in April, scalp message 3 times for 10 minutes a day, keep ends clipped as needed etc. I can’t seem to get the front and sides of my hair to grow as well as the back grows
I spent a year letting a famous hair dresser cut my hair off every three months. Hasn't grown at all which isn't a surprise. I'm going to try a trim twice a year and mostly wearing it curl with one detangling session per week. I used to have armpit length hair before all the cutting. It's slowly growing back...
Hairstylist said every 6 weeks I come back the next year or maybe 6 to 8 months later. I ain't gonna trim my hair every month and a half if I don't feel its needed...
Lol I thought I was the only one who mouistered my hair while in any protective style my 4c thrives from that weave is drying BEAUTIFUL and thanks for the info beauty
Awesome advice! Especially when it comes to the steamer. I just purchased mine and I love it for my low porous hair. Can’t wait to see my results within the next few months! Lovely hair as always ❤️
Ugh your hair is beautiful. I can only hope to have hair as gorgeous as yours. My hair is long( a little past waist length), but no where as full as yours. It doesn’t grow past a certain point on the sides either 🤦🏾♀️
Every time I go to the salon, they always want to trim off a ton of my hair and I get upset about the length loss. Going to order satin pillowcases now because I don't cover my hair when I sleep, and when I do, the cover falls off.
Learning that my curly coily hair needs to be stretched- like rolled up into a bun or clip. It stops my shrinkage and also gives me my length back. While keeping my hair off my shoulders - I think this is the trick to growth….
My hair grew to a little above waist length and then it just stopped. It’s long but I want it to reach hip length and look shiny like this. I’m definitely going to try these tips
I don’t know if you have 4c hair but her hair wouldn’t be a good guide to go off of. Her texture is pretty loose. Make sure your hair is always twisted or braided and make sure it’s always moisturized.
To avoid single strand knots its best to keep your hair in a stretched style. I have type 4a4b and I use to get single strand knots like crazy while wearing it curly. I started stretching my hair with braids or banding and I realized I don't get them as often which helped me retained a lot more length.
I can only do wash and go buns that's what I'm comfortable with hopefully that is good enough I mean my hair has grown alot doing it that way once it gets longer I plan on wearing it in two braids and even that cute fish tail
Coating your hair with vitamin E oil, also cod liver oil at the ends, also using maringa tea bags and water being sprayed on your hair and on your scalp on (itchy scalp days) does it for me. Also don't forget to drink water and remember your hair is a plant. Look it over often and see , feel , what's going on with it. Hope this helps ..... God Bless
You can oil your scalp by mixing some drops of stimulating essential oils like peppermint, tea tree, and rosemary oil into lighter oils like jojoba or olive oil and putting it into a squeeze bottle
Ebony is one of the few people I will take hair growth and retention tips from 😂
Right
Me too.
