I really am getting tired of people asking me if this is my real hair. Everybody should know by now that black women can have long hair. I just don't get it. People online who don't like my opinions love insulting my "weave." Black women who wear weave are deemed ugly, but black women who have long natural hair are called liars. It's like we can't win.
It's because 90% of black women on TV, especially on reality TV, wear weaves and /or talk about their weaves. Projecting a certain image has consequences, which is something us in the black community need to realize.
ananse77 Hmm. Very good point. I just wish people weren't so influenced by the media and used their own common sense. I mean, it's human hair. Black women are human too. We can grow hair just like everyone else. And it's no secret white celebrities wear extensions so why isn't the same stereotype on them?
***** Yeah, some have them have long thick hair underneath, but most people don't know that. So the effect is the same. Like I said, what we put out there have consequences.
ikr in middle school(now I'm in high school) when i was in middle school people. say that my hair was fake. and. they don't ask if my fake or not. they like your hair not real it fake. I be getting mad. because it is my real hair it long thick and real. there is some black people who have long real hair. it be making me mad when people say my Fake #Longthickrealhair
What pisses me THE F*** OFF, is that people don't even question non-black women about their hair. And they wear just as much weave! Oh I'm sorry, "extensions". Even RUclips is full of beauty gurus wearing wigs in every video, heads full of fusion extensions, tape extensions, clip-ins, and whatever other type of fancy extensions that non-black salons charge $1200 for. The second people see a black woman who loves her hair enough to give it the care and time it needs, and it's growing down her back...people can't accept it. It's either fake, or she must be mixed.
***** Think whatever you'd like, but I never see videos like this from non-black women about people insisting that their hair is fake. Or comment threads as long as my arm on weave/wig videos made by black women, with ignorant men saying shit like, "See, this is why men don't like black women. You don't see white, Hispanic, Asian, or other women trying to be something they're not", "Black women need to stop trying to be like white women/Indian women, and accept their own hair", "Black women steady buying Indian women's hair", etc. And in all of my years of having white, Mexican, Asian, Indian, South American, etc. friends, not one of them has EVER had people argue with them, or feel up in their head to see if their hair is real. And mixed black women don't count. As far as the world is concerned, you're black. No one cares if you're mixed. That's just an explanation IF they finally decided to believe that your hair is real.
Real talk. Ppl act like its a myth that black women can have long hair. No one gets questioned more than we do and no non black woman can speak on what we KNOW, SEE, and LIVE. Mixed chix only get asked that if they have strong black genes where it is clear that they have a queen's heritage.
Apphia Perkins Your so right because people think black girls can't grow there hair because we always love extensions and weave and always have nappy hair that can go down our back
My question is...how often do you get the "what are you mixed with?" Question. I hate that question that just because I have long curly hair I have to be mixed with something because it's impossible to have hair like this and be black 🙄😒
I get that all the time or people say "I thought you were Dominican" and I have to say "No, I'm black. There's black girls with long hair." It'll take a while for people to realize that black hair DOES grow and I like telling them because otherwise people's viewpoint won't change.
+LathanReigntree wtf is wrong with you? y'all hate black women so much that in order for them to have anything deemed "good", it has to come from something else.
You are beautiful and so is your hair. When ppl say that it is not your hair that is just a reflection of their own deep seeded self-hatred whether they're aware of it or not. That is trying to disassociate anything beautiful with blackness. you are BEAUTIFUL, I am beautiful, everyone here is beautiful regardless of your hair type, skin color, etc. You are beautiful simply because you were made in the image of the Almighty. Peace and love always.
people are so ignorant black women can have long hair too i hate when people say u lyin like it must offend people i think u have gorgeous hair and i am tryin to grow my hair u are such an inspiration
1MAN1HEART LOVE Trust me if someone say to me I'm lying I'll say oh really I'll prove it to u that I'm not lying I'll straighten or part it in the middles or wash my hair alll around and see if it draws up
Helenaelena because there jealous they be wearing weave and they envy beautiful black girls that grow out there natural hair and it super curly while they have none because it hidden underneath the weave lmao 😂
I bet those people making negative comments are bald, only wear wigs and weaves, are ugly and just hateful. God bless you Sis...keep doing you. I document my hair growth also..
+Nita Dark berry Exactly! People act as if our hair don't and can't grow...Hopefully they're able to take her teaching and grow their own hair. God bless you Queen.
+Kimberly W. Nothing...My cousin is diagnosed with alopecia...what was meant by the comment is the people who comment the worse things...instead of just switching the video/ photo, etc...are usually people who cannot meet the very standards for which they attack...not those who suffer from illnesses...but out of pure meanness.
A robe, really. I have a hooded, chenille robe that I received as a gift over 10 years ago and it looks brand new. You will never be able to please everyone regardless. You know the truth and those that believe you is all that matter. Keep doing what you're doing
What's crazy is that 85%of the people who ask/assume that our hair is not real or can't EVER be long are OUR OWN PEOPLE ;Black/Hispanic. It's sad. & the sadder thing is that its TAUGHT from a young age whether it's on purpose or unknowingly. People are embracing their natural hair more now but, there will still be people trying to bring us down or be blind to the fact that you can be a Black women with long/thick hair and not have to be mixed with something else.
you're such an inspiration! I've been growing my hair since I had cancer a while ago and it's been tough but I have no regrets for keeping my hair natural. Seeing people like you on youtube always gives me hope for my hair and my journey.
I suppose the negative people who stated your hair was fake has never watched your videos. If they did, they would've thought twice about it. I have watched all of your videos and I know it is your hair. All of the natural hair RUclipsrs has shown their wash routine and you can see their scalps when they are styling 8-))). Common sense is not a common thing. Do I believe they lie about products they are using? 100% ! They are always pushing some products and in the background you see completely different products lol. You are a very wonderful young lady and so far all of your videos have been honest and real. Thank you for sharing your journey. God bless!
Your hair is your hair, who cares what others think. Between 2011 and 2015 is 4 years. So your hair could grow that long. I think people want to believe your hair won't grow, because their's haven't yet.
your hair looks great and healthy! ppl don't understand that hair is supposed to grow and if it doesn't, it means that you're not using the right products for your hair! keep up the encouragement, it really helps me! God bless and keep doing your thing, girl
I think this video was great! I've spent most of my life being asked "is that your real hair?" or even having people tell me it's not mine lol. Those questions came when I used to get relaxers all the time. Now that I no longer get relaxers and hardly ever straighten my hair, it has grown even longer and thicker. I just got it straightened two days ago and one of my thoughts was, here we go with the question. I don't understand where the thought that black women cannot have long hair came from...and if we do, it must be fake. When I was younger I used to be a tad offended but through the years have learned that many people do not mean to be offensive, it's really just ignorance. Therefore I do my best to educate because we're all ignorant to some degree. Wow this was long, sorry! Thanks for sharing!
I'm dying at the fact people didn't believe you because of your robe (idk why people disbelieve at all). I'm sitting here in a robe that I got for Christmas when I was either 11 or 12 and I'm 23 now. The robe is the same material as yours and looks the exact same as when I got it. Idk what kind of robes they have, or what they be doing in their robes, but maybe they should question their own habits lol
Ive come a longggg way with my hair too. My mom cut my hair when I was in the 6th grade, 4 years and 5 months later... everyone says my hair is either goals, or it’s fake. My whole freshman year, my hair grew because of my goddess twists that I pinned up, they looked just like yours. I love my hair now, but I don’t like straightening it. I dyed it bright red for my 15th birthday, got it straightened then trimmed. I posted a pic, feeling nice for my bday, and some girls were saying how my weave was messed up, they didn’t listen when I said it wasn’t weave. I just don’t straighten my hair anymore. Having other girls my age and older, saying how I should style my hair is annoying. My hair is a sore subject for me.
Idc what anyone says your hair is beautiful and black people can have hair that grows naturally!!! So go on girl your my inspiration !!! I been natural for almost 2 years and was about to give up until I came across your videos
You got really gorgeous hair and never mind the haters. It's really ridiculous when a black woman posts a picture of her own long hair, people (you'd be surprised to find black women amongst them) go out of their way to dispute it and try to embarrass her, how pathetic. It just shows how insecure they are, because they can't stand to appreciate something that someone else has and they haven't got but desperately want!
The robe!! That's insane! People are so dumb 😞 some thing will ever change people never believe that my aunts hair is real. Growing up kids would pull her hair and say mean things. Stay positive you are an inspiration
Thank you for the advise my hair has been stuck at armpit length for ever and a day since I came out of hospital. I hate that mentality. My 87yr old mother in law still till this day don't believe the hair on my head is not mine. Her belief is that only light skinned women have good hair (rolls eyes). But her real issue is that her baby boy had the audacity to marry and love a dark skinned woman. Recently a black woman looked at me and said " yeah your mixed with cooly(indian a Jamaican term) I said no my dad was half Syrian. And her hateful response was" you mean the ones that bomb up the place. What she failed to realise is that not every Syrian is Muslim and that a lot of Christian Syrians fled their country out of persecution. The time she was looking at my head she should take off that tight ass wig that snatched off her edges on the whole circumference of her head. I can't be bothered to prove anything and no-one else should for that matter.
That is not healthy for people to think this why. Why do you have to be mixed? Looking out our history of hair black women had long hair. Well I'm glad many of us are natural and let our natural beauty shine through.
i think african americans would never feel the pain" , the claimed african heritage without leaving room for " we are kinda mixed" type of talk. you can't have it both ways. if you are mad pretty , whites will say "what are you mixed with" this is their way of saying , black ladies are not pretty. a caucasian will never claim 5% of african ancestry even though we know plenty have them. But with black people its like they got genes from the queen elizabeth. You can be your own african tribe without caucaian ghosts.
"What she failed to realise is that not every Syrian is Muslim and that a lot of Christian Syrians fled their country out of persecution"? So Muslims are "terrorist" and looser curled hair is "good hair"? I would assume for the fact your dad is syrian you would be the first to stay away from the american born delusional, ignorant and racist statments towards muslims/middle-easterns but clearly you believe otherwise. Dark skin woman are beautiful, all hair textures of hair are beautiful, and islam is as well. I just had to respond given your comment.
***** Bullshit is an understatement. People like that need their heads tested. The woman just revels in hate and misery.....I just leave her to stew in her own venom. Hmmmm......the mother-in-law. Her head is too far up her own ass to notice that there is far more important issues going on in this world. She is a Jamaican woman from Kingston the capital.....she has even put down my dead mother who is also from Jamaica but.......apparently Portland is a shithole compared to Kingston.....apparently my mother lived in the sea and she lived in a house. She thinks the sun shines out of her ass because a white woman adopted her. Ohhhhhh!!! I could slap her silly.
Jasmin Andrews wait are you serious? That's her attitude towards blackwomen. Wow that's not healthy. I take it that she's all about status and feel that it's okay to compare to appear bigger.
Ebony's Curly TV please do a Must have video for beginner naturals I’ve been trying to go natural and I haven’t been able to find a routine so my hair is at bra strap length now I big chopped 2 1/2 years ago and never really figured out my hair but my goal is healthy mid back length curls 🙏🏾 your so informative thank you for sharing your journey
Thank you so much for sharing this! I came across this video at the right time when I was just losing hope and wanting to quit. My hair is about shoulder length and has been there forever so I was about done, but I have so much motivation now after seeing this video that I can't wait to see how far I can take my hair!!! Thank you again definitely subscribing!!
People are that bored that they're checking about a robe. That is crazy... Your hair is gorgeous! This is my second big chop and I have learned so much from different youtubers this go around. Thanks for sharing!
Great video, very encouraging! Really reaffirms to me that I need to continue loving my hair, embracing the stage I am in, but also that I should stop saying that this is as good as it gets in terms of length. I went natural because I wanted to be all me and wanted to show my children (yet to be born) that their 'black' hair is beautiful, leading by example of course. So thanks for sharing your experience and the advice. That being said, I actually lost my blow-dryer and thought it was a bad thing, but perhaps it was time for me to quit the bad habit of using heat to dry my hair. I have seen such an improvement in my hair ever since. Thanks again for sharing!
She received the negative comments because she is a dark skinned, Black woman with Afrocentric features. People expect said women to have a particular phenotype i.e. short, kinky hair etc. and are upset when she doesn't. They dismiss her hair type by suggesting that she is "mixed with something" or wearing a weave. I hate to see it, but I'm not surprised by it.
I applaud you for sharing. You are absolutely right. When I went natural I didn't know how to retain length. Watching natural hair guru's is what helped me to go beyond just a little over shoulder length to almost mid back length. Your absolutely right...when you find a routine that your hair likes it will grow. I've been told I'm mixed when my hair was just a little past my shoulders. It must be irritating to hear that you're mixed because your hair is healthy and long. I'm definitely not mixed but proper healthy hair care techniques are critical to hair retention. I loose my hair length from prolonged stressfulness, but otherwise my hair grows fast and long. I feel sad when I think of where I could have been but for my setbacks. However, hair keeps growing and you just keep learning. Happy holidays, and all the best for the New Year to all who've read my post.
People say really stupid stuff on the internet and what's funny is they act like they know for a fact that what their saying is truth. I think your hair is beautiful and I'm glad you posted the before and after pictures because they do help us to see how far you have come and give inspiration. Thanks sis.
Thank you so much, I just started my natural hair, I did my big chop, this month my hair was waist length before. So yes black woman can grow long hair if we keep care of our hair. l am so looking forward to my hair growing back. your hair is beautiful.
You didn't waste making this video. Thanks for making it. I'm in the process of taking better care of my natural hair & grown it out. This video was motivational & inspiring for me
don't pay any mind to the haters, your hair is beautiful and so are you. some people don't understand that in four years it is possible to grow hair. since I was young I too have gone through the same thing being an natural red head. sometimes you just need to shrug the negative off
Hey lady, the people who leave negative comments are haters. They know your hair is real, but they don't want it to be. Some people don't want to believe that someone else can do something that they feel they cannot. You grew your hair, like many others. You should be proud. You are a beautiful young women. Keep making videos. I enjoy them!!!
You look great! We all need to really embrance our own beauty. It took me a little while to adjust to the different stages too but confidence and loving yourself will go a long way. Thanks for the vid.
Nice video! I think when our community realizes and accepts that WE ARE DIVERSE and not cookie cutter as some seem to want us to be (those in & out of our communities) ; then the negatives we be replaced with simple appreciation (at least I hope so)! As you probably expect - I've been there with people trying to tell me what's real or not on my head! Smile! Anyway good job and thanks for saying it!
Plain simple answer ...God blessed with gorgeous hair..and you take care of your hair..haters will be haters..I'm Puerto Rican with curly hair also.. and loving it..
Don't feel bad hun about keeping old stuff I do it too, some thing you just can't let go(ex.clothes, blankets etc). Thank you for helping me understand that it takes time and it will grow although we may get impatient. I'm 10 mths a natural and I have a big fro and I love it! Mrs, Ebony thank you so much and looking forward to hear more.
I believe you!! And your hair is beautiful. I am comfortable with my hair texture but it is in that in between stage . . . to short for this style and to long for that style. And I have a lot of hair (individual follicles) which makes it harder to put in a bun, etc. I also have a lot of shrinkage. I do not want to get a relaxer either. So I am trying to stick it out. I am looking forward to growing to your length. Great video.
Thanks so much. I just started taking care of my hair again. I Neglected my hair for years and fell out. I went natural June 2017 and I started deep conditioning. I use to have long hair after I had my first son my hair was down my back. You inspire me to keep going. Your hair is gorgeous and very beautiful woman.
OMG! Where have I been? Your channel is AWESOME!!! I am recently chopped ( OCT 2016- down to 1inch length). ANd it 1 month, my hair has grown a full inch and half longer!!! And I am loving the journey already. I love the ABS ( African Black Soap- DIY SHAMPOO). Great ROBE. You are a good woman and sweet, and it comes through your spirit.
This video describes EXACTLY what I am going through now and what I was going through about a month ago when I did my big chop, being uncomfortable w/ my hair, not being used to having short hair, not knowing what to do (I'm still kind of lost tbh) Bantu knots are my go-to at the moment. I NEEDED this video!! This inspires and motivates me to be patient, pay attention, not to give up just because I get frustrated and to get creative! Thank you so much!!
thank you so much for sharing! no one really shares the "ugly phase" and the fact that you really just have to deal with it for a while lol. makes me feel a lot better about where I am in the process.
Beautiful Hair! Thanks for sharing and helping others. After coloring my hair, I had some issues. Embracing your natural hair is being true to yourself.
Aw this video really gave me the motivation to keep wearing my natural hair because I just decided to wear my natural hair and grow it since I always wear weaves but lately I've been getting so frustrated because it's so much time and effort and I'm still learning but this video really helped so thanks!
Your hair is beautiful. Love your makeup, too. I've been perm free since 2009 as well. Celebrating 10 years as of May 2019! But just stopped getting it flat ironed. And it's my first summer wearing "natural" styles, twists (before, it was wigs, weaves and braids). Learning to embrace it and just getting a routine. Will try your Pillow Soft and Gel Souffle for wash and go. Looking forward to more healthy natural styles. Thanks for the encouragement.
The ones that post negative comments are jealous of your gorgeous hair! I just cut my hair in the beginning of this year. I hope my hair gets to your length! ❤
Girl you do you. When the haters come, block them. You are gorgeous and regardless what anyone says at the end of the day u still have ur beautiful hair. Lots of love keep smiling.
Women can be so jealous, it's sickening! You took care of your hair and maintained your length, congratulations your hard work payed off because your hair is beautiful! Don't even give the jealous ignorant people a minute more of your energy, keep doing what you do
They're just saying it's a weave because your hair journey has come very far! And it looks so bomb and healthy now!!✊🏽 please continue making more hair videos for us naturals
I was inspired and a new fan. I will tell you this, you said nothing about the Lord but I can tell your a believer because that same journey can be applied to other areas of life. ALL I heard was faith all up and through this. Maybe I'm wrong but again I'm inspired to continue being natural. #3 years and counting
ThanQ for this video. Your hair is beautiful. I'm more inspired now! It was as though you were talking to me. I, too, struggle with my new natural look. Wondering if I look professional enough. Going to embrace my new look in hopes that, one day, my hair will be long and beautiful too. Thanks again!
You are so lovely to look at. An unusual beauty. Your lovely curly hair texture, your dark complexion mixed with your soft rounded features are gorgeous.
Hi Ebony! I'm happy to find your channel, I've been trying to grow my hair long so been youtubing natural hair videos so yours came across my feed and my mouth dropped! You look like a heavenly angel, very beautiful hair and skin. I broke down and cried knowing us Black woman proactively and subtlety fight to stay valid in our unique beauty and features. And here you are showing the way!! Please continue to share information and thankyou!🥰🙏🏿
I just cut all my hair off. After hours of sobbing and preparing my self mentally to deal with people talking down on me, I found your video and it gave me so much hope. Thank you so much! xoxo
This video really helped me a lot. I haven't put a relaxer in my hair for about 2 years now but I was constantly straightening it everyday but I stoped putting heat on my hair in August and about 2 weeks ago I cut all of my heat damaged ends off. Just like you said I am going through a state where I don't really know what to do with my hair. One side curls beautifully and the other doesn't and I noticed my hair is very uneven and I just can't find a style or anything to do with it. It has come to the point where I go to events and see girls with beautiful long hair and I feel so ugly because I'm uncomfortable with my hair and it's length but I have been trying to do my research and look at different protective styles and try to switch it up because i usually wear the same hairstyle everyday. But I thank you so much for making this video. It made me feel good knowing that I'm not the only who went or is through this. And I just have to keep taking care of my hair and eventually it will become long and beautiful just like yours.
Gorgeous hair. I also got some negative comments when I posted my growth comparison pic on instagram this month. people thought it was a weave or crotchet. Some black people think our hair can't grow long and fast.
God must've drew me to your video because I am at the point where I am getting frustrated and feeling discouraged. You have motivated me to stay on my journey and focus more on my routine. I am going to switch things up a bit but I am feeling confident that I will see results. Thank you!
Haha I'm literally (right now, as I type) wearing the same penguin robe my friend got me for christmas 8-9 years ago. This robe is in wonderful shape. I'm a broke college student, I don't have time to be buying all kinds of products. I do the lazy natural method; water and oil. I just make sure I wet and oil my hair every day. I did a big chop back in March. My hair only grew 3-4inches. After 8 months, its still awkward and loose looking so I wear wigs. I'm sure this is just the way my natural hair is but I'm definitely not comfortable wearing it out. I don't like short hair on me. And I still can't find anyone with hair like mine.
BohoFlow Hey girl, if you just use water and oil, you're missing a component (leave in conditioner/butter) and I know you're uncomfortable but how will your hair come into its own if you always cover it? It could also need shaping..just my 2 cents, I hope I helped and Good luck on your hair journey!
I have been tip-toeing around going “full” natural for a long time, but I think this video here gave me the courage to do it. My last relaxer was in 2002, but I’m always blow drying and flat-ironing my hair straight. But I’m getting sick of it and I’m SOOO OVER the smell of flat irons. And when I tried going full natural, I looked insane. So, I just want to thank you for this video. You have a new subscriber!
Your a beautiful girl with beautiful hair and I love your vids I wish people would celebrate and praise one another rather then try to tear others down for no reason other then pure insecurity but anyhow tfs! 👍🏽
I knew that was yours. It's gorgeous. Knowing God helps me know all is possible and he gave us amazing hair. Our hair can grow and become more manageable and even have popping curls as we learn our hair.
Your hair is gorgeous Sis. You seem to have a beautiful personality so I’m sure that contributes to a healthy head of hair too. Well, embrace the blessings that God gives you.
+Ebony's Curly TV and I thought me having locs, people would automatically know that my hair was real but I was wrong. And it comes mostly from black women thinking my hair is fake.
+Tiphany757 i believe it. i have faux locs ( yarn) and people don't even question it. They ask, how long you been growing your hair?... just plain backwards
Honestly! why is there a misconceptions that black women do not have long hair. And this is within the black community. Your hair is beautiful and I have realised since I stopped using chemicals and I am being patient in how I handle my hair it is growing. I got alot of inspiration from your video. please continue posting them
Hey I'm 16 and my hair got thin and damaged when i used to relax it a few years ago and it's not been growing as fast ever since. I really like your positivity and its inspired me to find out more about growing my hair, I just don't know what products to use or how to go about things and I would really like your help, where can I get personal advice?
Try washing with sulfate free shampoos or co washing your hair. And deep condition!!! I personally love palmers deep conditioning coconut packet. They sell it at target for cheap. And coconut oil and oils are your friend. I had the problem with thin hair and once I started to deep condition along with using coconut while deep conditioning it made my hair super thick. And find a good leave in and moisturizer. And wide tooth combs are your friend. I hope this helped 😊
+STEVI BROWN yes! Oils, coconut oil specially, ( any regular conditioner+oils+Mayo=>>)deep conditioner, water and a wide tooth combs are best friends to your curls.
Jamaican black castor oil! Massage your scalp with it as much as possible. It will thicken your hair. Deep condition. Try not to use heat if possible. Deep condition. Watch a lot of videos about natural hair
Protecting styles are best too, not too tight and don't keep it for too long. Olive oil, sunflower oil, Palm oil are the cheapest oils to try💐💖💖 my account is Welcome' s House
All that you've shared is the reason why your hair is healthy and beautiful. So true that our hair can grow. It takes patience and willingness to give up frying our hair and using chemicals that ultimately damage our hair. We have to be comfortable and confident enough to wear our hair in it's natural state. It does require more time and effort in getting to know your own hair, what products work best and developing a routine, but the payoff in the end is definitely worth it! 🌴☀🌴
Hello, I'm new to your channel, please can I ask if you haven't already if you can share how to maintain length? As I feel that no matter how much I try, my hair seems to be stuck at the same length for years! I'm transitioning so have maybe have one inch of relaxed ends I think but my hair doesn't seem to go beyond shoulder length! Thanks in advance :)
You're speaking a truth. I hope you do a video on self love because it's taking some of us longer to love ourselves just as we are. And if we don't love ourselves we won't put in the time, effort or have the patience to take better care of ourselves mind, body and spirit. I really enjoyed this video and I hope to hear more from you. Take care.
Zymothy Vynn exactly
Mixed chix only get asked that if they have strong black genes where it is clear that they have a queen's heritage.
cough kim zolciak cough
Apphia Perkins Your so right because people think black girls can't grow there hair because we always love extensions and weave and always have nappy hair that can go down our back
***** What do you mean?
Jealously is a hell of a emotion. lol
you owe no explanation to them stay black an beautiful 🙌
My question is...how often do you get the "what are you mixed with?" Question. I hate that question that just because I have long curly hair I have to be mixed with something because it's impossible to have hair like this and be black 🙄😒
I get that all the time or people say "I thought you were Dominican" and I have to say "No, I'm black. There's black girls with long hair." It'll take a while for people to realize that black hair DOES grow and I like telling them because otherwise people's viewpoint won't change.
+cutema101 I can't stand that question like just because I'm considered light skin people and have long curly hair I MUST be mixed it's so annoying
+STEVI BROWN girl bye!! ur grand parents r mixed and u know it. learn ur family history bc u r trying it.
+LathanReigntree lmao because you know me and my family, you're so right!! 🙄😂
+LathanReigntree wtf is wrong with you? y'all hate black women so much that in order for them to have anything deemed "good", it has to come from something else.
Lmaoo I'm dead ppl are hilarious 😂. I keep my robes in great condition too! Btw you're gorgeous!
Maryam Hampton hey Maryam😍
You are beautiful and so is your hair. When ppl say that it is not your hair that is just a reflection of their own deep seeded self-hatred whether they're aware of it or not. That is trying to disassociate anything beautiful with blackness. you are BEAUTIFUL, I am beautiful, everyone here is beautiful regardless of your hair type, skin color, etc. You are beautiful simply because you were made in the image of the Almighty. Peace and love always.
Hélida that was beautiful and just what I needed to read today.
You touched my soul when you talked about loving yourself when your don't feel beautiful while transitioning. Preach!
Ani Thompson I know right! I hope she makes a video about it 🤔
imstillme143 Ok! That's real thing!
Lol I'm 23 and I wear a jacket I used to wear when I was 10.
Whattttt😂😂😂😂
+Jessica Jackson nice!!!
+Taylor Stein
Most of my 21 year old daughters clothes still fit her from the age of 10yrs old :)
+Taylor Stein Lol my clothes still fit me too 😆
I'm that kind of girl too 😂
A robe? Really!?! It's called a washing machine lol! I'm tired of Us putting eachothe down. Why is it hard to congratulate each other? Idgi smh
I know right. Amen girl!
Brilliant advice, our hair grows no matter the type!
I can't wait for someone to wonder if my hair is real. I enjoyed this. New subbie.
people are so ignorant black women can have long hair too i hate when people say u lyin like it must offend people i think u have gorgeous hair and i am tryin to grow my hair u are such an inspiration
1MAN1HEART LOVE the sad thing is that it's other black women that will be saying these ignorant negative things.
Or talking about she mixed with something...Thats their favorite.
smh
1MAN1HEART LOVE Trust me if someone say to me I'm lying I'll say oh really I'll prove it to u that I'm not lying I'll straighten or part it in the middles or wash my hair alll around and see if it draws up
Helenaelena because there jealous they be wearing weave and they envy beautiful black girls that grow out there natural hair and it super curly while they have none because it hidden underneath the weave lmao 😂
PROM1SE VALENT1NE
It’s not the length, it’s the texture
Ppl are very ignorant of black hair. Especially black people. Good Job
LadyLioness that is soooo true. Its cuz ppl forget black americans never had their TRUE culture.
I bet those people making negative comments
are bald, only wear wigs and weaves, are ugly and just hateful. God bless you Sis...keep doing you. I document my hair growth also..
+Nita Dark berry Exactly! People act as if our hair don't and can't grow...Hopefully they're able to take her teaching and grow their own hair. God bless you Queen.
whats wrong with wearing a weave.... i have alopecia so i need it
+Kimberly W. Nothing...My cousin is diagnosed with alopecia...what was meant by the comment is the people who comment the worse things...instead of just switching the video/ photo, etc...are usually people who cannot meet the very standards for which they attack...not those who suffer from illnesses...but out of pure meanness.
Kandii Gainey lmao i was about to say nooo not the weave...i need that....Im half bald
+Kimberly W. Not at all 😂😂😂 There's a RUclipsr that also has alopecia....have you seen her videos?
you have a great voice. its so soothing and I can listen to your tutorials easily
You are so positive. I'm a new subbie! Your hair is pretty. Thanks for your honesty and your video.
Thank you so much for the love!
Ebony's Curly TV You are welcome.
Nobody ever asks if my hair is real when it's curly but they always do when it's straight. It's kind of hilarious.
They ask me if it's my real hair all the time. Weather it is curly or
flat ironed.
PrettyDoesntBite That’s because when black girls hair is very long straight it always be a weave
Many of our ladies are addicted to weave and/or eurocentrism. It makes sense even if it doesn’t apply to you specifically.
Seeing people like you on youtube always gives me hope for my hair and my journey.
she is so prettyyyyyy
SingDea I am so with on that!! Haters come up with irrational talk & reasoning that can be really entertaining!
thats cool but now youre making me think on how small you must be. lol
roquell98 LOL I'm not small. I just had my growth spurt around that time; I'm 5'5". I wish I were cute and tiny hahaha
SingDea those people commenting probably only buy cheap clothes with cheap material that don't last very long
Same! Im 21 and 5'5" and I have shirts from when I was 12/11, haha! Only things I have outgrown were my bras and underwear.
Throughout this whole video I didn't pause or skip to another video once. Your voice is so mesmerizing and calming and I could listen to you all day.❤
So Sweet! Thank you!
Welcome😉
These kinds of comments make me so happy! Thank you!
People are that bored that they're checking about a robe. That is crazy... Your hair is gorgeous! This is my second big chop and I have learned so much from different youtubers this go around. Thanks for sharing!
I'm glad to hear it. Thanks for watching!
You Have been an Excellent steward of your blessing(your hair) and it is Beautiful!👏😊 Thank you for the encouragement & help tips😊
Thanks again for sharing!
that is so crazy the sad thing is if you were lighter I wonder if you would have even gotten those comments #chocolatesistalove
Niketa Calame
People would probably be more convinced she was mixed...
You are so right they would just think she was mixed and assume that's why she had long curly hair.
Your hair is gorgeous! Love the curls!! Love it straight, it's amazing! So thick full and healthy looking!!
*hides my robe I've had since 20yrs old and I'm 35*
LOLOL!!!
Plain simple answer ...God blessed with gorgeous hair..and you take care of your hair..haters will be haters..I'm Puerto Rican with curly hair also.. and loving it..
lol because of the robe? my brain hurts now... I love your hair girl. it's very lovely.
Thank you. Just push through. You'll get to your goal soon!
what do you mean by the individual follicle thing
Thank you so much for the love and support!
Thank for saying that everyone can grow hair regardless of hair type! It's about time!
You just gave me HOPE
I legit saw that pick on pinterest and saved it for motivation. ur nose is so cute btw lol
Lol thank you!
The ones that post negative comments are jealous of your gorgeous hair! I just cut my hair in the beginning of this year. I hope my hair gets to your length! ❤
Natural hair goes through soo many changes, even my texture changed from when I 1st went natural. I believed you, and you have beautiful hair!!
Don't even give the jealous ignorant people a minute more of your energy, keep doing what you do
stop explaining yourself to people who are dead set on being ugly and mean. Continue shinning❤👑
haters gonna hate you're beautiful and inspiring. I loOve you're hair.
I'm so happy you were able to feel that because you're absolutely right! Thank you for the love and support!
ThanQ for this video. Your hair is beautiful. I'm more inspired now! It was as though you were talking to me. I, too, struggle with my new natural look. Wondering if I look professional enough. Going to embrace my new look in hopes that, one day, my hair will be long and beautiful too. Thanks again!
can you post video about product application that you mention and this one would really be helpful😊
I sure will!
I hope you don't let it get to you because you're awesome and helping thousands of people that love you!! Curly girls rock!!
I will never understand 'your hair is fake!!' people like i get some people wear weaves and wigs but like... do they not understand that hair grows?
I can't tell how many times I have watched this video. It motivates me and keeps me focused on my natural hair journey... thank you
they always believing something's fake..which is crazy
your hair is beautiful by the way
Lita Benning hi Lita my name is Lita also love well nickname...
Lita Benning they always think black girls have fake hair when there hair is long and curly
I just cut all my hair off. After hours of sobbing and preparing my self mentally to deal with people talking down on me, I found your video and it gave me so much hope. Thank you so much! xoxo
Haha I have my robe since I was 14... I'm now 31 no shame. It is still in great condition. 😂😂😂
Girl I see you gotcho LIFE! Yazzzz! I love your hair! I'm fascinated at how all the different types of Black hair can flourish in the natural state
I didn't even realize it was the same robe until you mentioned it!😂 Your hair is beautiful and you seem so genuine
And I just have to keep taking care of my hair and eventually it will become long and beautiful just like yours.
thats your hair, it looks so beautiful, job well done girl! ignore the haters!
Stay beautiful stop caring about haters....jealousy is a compliment. You fabulous girl!
BohoFlow Just keep going, growing your hair and taking care of it. Things will fall into place. Good luck 😁😁

Our hair can grow and become more manageable and even have popping curls as we learn our hair.
they are haters...your hair is beautiful
Your hair is gorgeous Sis. You seem to have a beautiful personality so I’m sure that contributes to a healthy head of hair too. Well, embrace the blessings that God gives you.
I have locs and people still ask of they are real smh
You can't be serious! Lolol I can't!
+April Johnson wow lol
+Tiphany757 lol. yep
Honestly! why is there a misconceptions that black women do not have long hair.
+Epiphanie Always Amen!!
Take care.
I love this video, your hair and I need to figure out how to do my eyebrows like yours...gorgeous!!!
Thank you so much!
