Motor Actuated Ball Valves and Irrigation Controller.

I've found that they come in various configurations from various manufacturers. They can be normally open, actuated to close; normally closed, actuated to open; 1/2", 3/4", 1". With or without the ball valve. I ordered 3/4" normally closed for my irrigation system.

Are these valves "Normally closed??

Do these motors all come with their own ball valves? Or are there stand alone motors that fit over the top of existing valves?
