    I really hope you do an updated review of the version with the base. You have complained in the past about the issue of stick vacuum not standing and the base solves that at least for storage. Shatk also claims the base is also HEPA sealed so you aren't re-poluting to the air when empty it. Finally they claim 60 minutes of runtime on that version and the extra tool (both speak to your biggest issues).

    I love this channel, I don’t know why vacuuming and cleaning is so fascinating but it really is. Anyways I can vouch for this brand as I have the stratos and the one before it and both are amazing! It’s their brush heads that never clog or tangle and that’s even with my two dogs, one being pure bred mini Aussie and the other being a mix of Aussie and Husky and both obviously have a double coat and both shed so much everyday regardless I deshed often that I vacuum nearly everyday and the Stratos is phenomenal! I have a nice corded dyson that does such a good job cleaning my carpet but I bought the Shark Stratos stick because I knew I’d vacuum more often than once weekly because of ease to get out and convenience to use and sure enough it’s held me accountable to keeping the floors as clean as I can with two hairy, messy dogs. Anyways I love this brand for long haired, double coated dogs and it also picks up stuffing from demolished dog toys no problem or crumbs, etc. it’s a well rounded stick vacuum that isn’t $500+

    I found a almost perfect return Shark Stratos and I love it. Huge suction even in eco mode and almost never plugs up in the hose from the power head like my old 280 duo clean. If this is even better and lighter that's a win right there. I can't find reasonably priced batteries for my Stratos yet either but I'm sure someone in China will be selling decent cheap knockoffs eventually. I think in eco mode I can get 15 or 20 minutes out of mine and I use it to clean the areas my parrots drop all their food and crumbs around. The old vacuum would always plug up this one doesn't care even in eco mode.
    Keep up the good work 👍

    How long do you think all of the good things about this vacuum will last before malfunctioning or breaking-down? I’ve noticed that even good products don’t last more than a couple of years. I understand that all mechanisms fail, but I expect a good product to last at least ten years. Maybe I’m old fashioned. I also understand that you can’t really know how to answer that. But, it’s just a thought.
    Edit: I also know that maintaining a product/machine increases its longevity. I am very good at cleaning, servicing, and maintaining my machines (I’ve had my lawnmower for more than twenty years.) But, even with good maintenance, products nowadays only last, at the most, five years.

    I just got this with the auto empty.
    It feels a bit cheap/delicate I think that has to do with the light weight.
    The floor head is awesome. Grooms carpets well and feels like it digs in.
    Suction wise not the greatest. Not as good as my stratos cordless and fine dirt seems to go straight to the filter and not end up in the bin.
    Also not sure if mine has a problem but the floor sensors seem to not work that great. I'll be in the middle of the carpet and it will cut all the way down to barely moving the brush roll. Shadows and light seem to effect it.

    • @saintejeannedarc9460
      @saintejeannedarc9460 7 месяцев назад +1

      I just got mine today. It feels really sturdy and much better made than my Tineco A11 Master, though I will sorely miss having 2 batteries, which came w/ that kit. Much much better suction though. Makes me wonder how I struggled w/ that gutless Tineco as long as I did. Payed way more for it too, even 4 years ago. Though Shark offered me 50% when I went chasing after a coupon on the American site. Never would have made the leap if they hadn't probably. So just got it today and frustrated waiting for the battery to charge. Only had a minute of runtime out of the box, but did let me test it enough to know it will be light years better than the Tineco ever was.
      Compared to a Stratos though, which seems to have the power and build quality of a cordless. I wouldn't be able to take the weight of a Stratos though. Too many pain issues. Even though the Detect Pro is supposed to weigh near the same as my also ultra lightweight Tineco, it just feels so much sturdier. It seems heavier in the power head where i need it, but lighter in the hand. Great build design, overall. But apples and oranges to compare it to a Stratos. If you can take the weight, seems a Stratos is a better and stronger vac.

      Mine has a significant wobble on the wand. I got the Costco version with the flex wand so that's part of it but also has wobble at the joint between wand and handheld part.
      Did yours have a black attachment accessory on the wand? Mine came with two attachments and neither fit in it!

    • @saintejeannedarc9460
      @saintejeannedarc9460 5 месяцев назад +1

      I have the auto empty as well, but w/out the flexible wand, so wobble isn't an issue. It seems sturdy enough to me, but i had a Tineco before, and this is definitely a more study build.
      You're right about the fine dust going right to the filter though. That filter needs to be shaken out often and takes forever, as it holds tons of fine dust. None of that really seems to get into the bin. They say once a month for the filter, but you should do it more often. More lke weekly. I went a few weeks and the vacuum was getting hot real quick. Banging the filter out seems to resolve that right away.
      I find the auto empty is a bit of a gimmick though. It has it's perks, but that bin is very tiny and should have been bigger. As it jsut creates a lot more to empty, and a bunch of extra filters to keep clean. This Shark worked way better than my Tineco, so it took tons out of my carpets, but I had to empty that bin the first week.

    First off! Watching the bin get auto-emptied is so delightful, I picked mine up on the Prime Day sale, (1.3ltr version)at £249 a 40% discount with the auto-clean base station. Coming from owning the Tineco Hero and the Shark Vertex Pro for three years. My main complaint with those models was the messy process of emptying the dustbin, as most times than not when emptying something would be stuck and you'd need to put your hands in and pull it out, also the fine dust would just fly back out in the air again and cover the bin, Tineco Hero's filters were particularly more problematic, becoming clogged after each vacuuming session, all of this simply defeats the purpose of cleaning! Luckily the auto clean station addresses this which on bonus also charges the unit.(2 birds, 1 stone)
    I really like the new hybrid brush design of the Shark Detect Pro, it is a significant improvement, and the whole thing is super lightweight and easy to maneuver. However, it may not be suitable for high-pile furry carpets. Despite this, it performs exceptionally well on all other surfaces.
    Although the unit is fragile and can flex under excessive pressure, Shark offers a five-year warranty upon registration, providing peace of mind.
    I give this a solid 9/10.

  • @cirmothe9
    @cirmothe9 Год назад +7

    Don't you have to empty the auto empty disposal units anyway. With robot vacs I understand but a handheld vac, you might as well empty it straight to the trash instead of moving it from one container to another.

      @@TurkinaFaso It's no better in Canada. I can't believe the lack of quality these days. I understand that things were a lot heavier back in the day, but I have 2 vacuums, a weak Bissell first gen corded stick vac and a heavy as heck, and strong as a bull, Dirt Devil upright. One 30 yrs the other at least 20. I'm lucky my gutless Tineco cordless has lasted over 3 years and still going, but it's always been pretty gutless, though was an upgrade from the Bissell stick.
      Got my Shark Detect Pro today. Taking forever to charge, but the bit that I did have, it's a big upgrade from the Tineco A11 Master. I think battery is going to be a big issue though. Have charged over half an hour at time and still only got 2 minutes out of it at 2 bars. I think it was mostly on turbo though, from so much cat fur on my stickiest carpet, which the Tineco never could get clean and always looked dusty.

      I just got the stand model today too. Wouldn't have considered it otherwise, because the dustbin is so tiny. It fills up fast too, as this thing picks up so much better than my Tineco, and I can't stress enough how messy that thing was to empty. Made me barely want to vacuum after awhile, so this should make a difference. Waiting for the battery to charge has been a pain though. Got a mintue of run time to test it. Gave it half an hour a few times, and still only got barely a minute. So I can see only one battery will probably be a big issue for me. The Tineco, as gutless as it always was in comparison, at least came w/ 2, so I'm very used to swap and go.

    I noticed the power was reviewed at MAX power only. I see a significant delta between the cordless Stratos and the new detect pro. Makes complete sense that with the quadclead head being that efficient; why focus on suction power like all the rest when you can do something well and bring a difference to the game. BUT! My question is, take away that unique technology and does the Stratos still kill the Detect Pro for handheld usage? What is the power difference in eco mode and when using just the handheld unit without floor head? Did you ever record those numbers? Example: I want to clean my car; will one be significantly better with just the handheld unit over the other?

    There is one thing I hope the detect pro cordless improves from the stratos cordless. The auto detect feature on the stratos cordless is very rudimentary. It happens to have too many false positive(a tiny bit of large debris is sucked up at full power, and the machine gambles by continuing on full power for 2 seconds, which there often is no more debris). Often time it goes full power even for one large debris. The floor detect has to be very accurate, and responsive so to accurately modulate the power. The roller head also needs to be able to be very responsive.

You have to clean at least 2 filters in the vaccuum and another 2 in the base station. One each has to be regular, the other mayble every month or so. All are rinsable, but need an over night dry. The sensors on the vacuum head need a dust here and there to work properly for edge clean boost and light boost.

    Dyson not innovating much considering what we see here. Interesting head, this is an improvement over soft roller which can't do carpet but then this also an improvement over the traditional carpet brush head now with a larger mouth. This Shark though has deal breakers like tiny, weak battery at this price. Specs lists it at 18V which likely means using only five battery cells where average cheap vacs use six so not only this has short runtime, replacing the battery pack is certain in one year. Another deal breaker is the lack of small powered brush or dust mite brush head. Another amazon review says it does not pick up well at the edges vs a $100 cheap vacuum he owns, so a real carpet brush head or well sealed head still works best for hard floors.

(the prices are similar, 280 euro for the normal version stratos) and 330 for this one with the auto empty station. thanks alot in advance. (i have no carpets in my house, however it do have thick gym matts)

    It looks like there are 2 versions of this vacuum, one with a PowerFins Brushroll, one with the QuadClean Surface Brushroll (that you reviewed). Do you have any review of the PowerFins Brushroll?

    While I’d admit the light placement is odd. I like the one with the self clean suck down. LoL. Sorry. Self empty, sound better? Although after a certain period of time, you still must empty. Depends how much dust, hair, and crumbs, etc., it picks up. They tell ya a month but I should really think someone at Shark should be on record for saying that might vary [ymmv]. I think another pro was that clean scent. They said that it had that but didn’t hear as a pro. It would be for me. Did this model really come out in September 2023? I’m afraid to see listing price for either - over $350.00?

  • @Denquu
    @Denquu Год назад +3

    I frankly feel this review is a bit biased, or glossing over the actual cleaning performance, disregarding larger debris. 94% deep clean score is not that far above a typical robot vacuum, and I do feel like if the only head attachment cant reach 100% on the carpet, that’s not great. The same thing seems to happen on hardfloors. If you look at the video at 2:25, the vacuum doesnt pick up all of the coffee grounds on the first pass over a hardfloor, which really doesnt seem great. So the low suction numbers do seem to have a pretty large effect on the cleaning performance.

      @@kevindd992002it’s probably not as bad as something you’d get from aliexpress. If it’s what you can afford, it’s certainly better than nothing, or a broom. But i’d say it’s pretty much scraping just to get bare minimum.

    This has just reduced to only £300 with the 2L auto empty station. A huge £150 (33%) discount.
    I bought the Dyson Omniglide and it's such a disappointment. Half the time the fluff and fur it picks up gets rolled one way through one roller and then the other way with the second roller and then the Dyson is spitting out matted clumps of fur instead of sucking them up!!!

      Vacuums are all designed and sold around the world using metric measurements so it makes sense. In a comparison it doesn't really matter anyway so long as units are the same.
      The US needs to adapt, not have everything changed just for them.

    cant stand our shark duo clean with fins. Its a pos. I really wish vacuum wars would have did the test with more debris like simple paper or small cardboard pieces. It clogs the suction tunnel every time especially if you have any dogs around the house or children. I had to make a make shift coat hanger to clear the tube anytime it clogs. If you dont every have to deal with kids or pets messes, then go for it get a shark. In the real world tests, shark doesnt work for crap.

    • @StuffTested
