Repairability and the existence of canister vacuums are such a huge omission from this channel. It's really disappointing to see someone talking with authority on vacuum purchasing but completely ignoring ownership 🤦🏾♂️
As much as I love your reviews and have been following you for years, please talk about customer service reliability and parts replacement. I've bought my shark apex vacuum years ago due to your awesome review. However, when it comes to ordering replacement parts the Shark company has failed in this aspect with customer service support. This has been a frustration since then and I'm weary of wanting to buy a new vacuum from Shark. I believe your loyal followers, including myself, would appreciate your insight regarding these overlooked categories. Thank you so much for your product reviews all these years!!!!
Honestly, there are much better cleaning and more reliable machines than Shark. Shark designs these to fail and then doesn't honor the warrantee or provide replacement parts. I would recommend the Dyson Ball Animal 3, Amway Workhorse, Sanitare SL4110A, or if you want something cheaper a bagged Bissell Powerforce. All these will work better than any Shark, and they will provide replacement parts and honor the warrantee if it fails which is not as likely with these.
Don't buy a bagless vaccum. Modern HEPA bags in modern vaccums are the way to go. Sebo, Numatic (Nacecare), Miele, Oreck, some Hoovers, Lindhaus, are better
Shark performance is amazing but repairability is bad unlike older versions. The standard brushroll is not removable, lack of parts and bad warranty service. It’s unfortunate because they have such cool designs.

Seriously thank you for always giving us an honest scoop on the most current vacuums. Seems silly but I thoroughly enjoy watching vacs battle it out and I’ve used your recommendations when picking out my sticks vacs and haven’t been disappointed once! So far my favorite has been the Shark cordless stratos which you highly recommended and not once has it become clogged with two long haired dogs: Husky mix and a mini Aussie which both leave tons of hair and have killed my dyson and previous stick vacs. You were also spot on with the damn Ryobi stick vac which I found out the hard way as it couldn’t handle the dogs hair and it’s power just didn’t help itself to be a useful vac
I love your channel. We have purchased 3 of the top sharks over the years. We have had a struggle with it getting clogged with dog hair very easily. We have a German shepherd and short hair dog. I would love to see a more recent video for pet owners!
Everything this video says is correct. I am amazed at how good this vacuum is. Our old Shark died, and we got this one and used it and it picked up so much dirt that we were amazed. The old vacuum was not working and we did not know it. Get this on sale and it is worth it.
As an owner of a small cleaning company, I instantly subscribed and am in love with this channel! I own the PowerDetect, and the carpet Xpert with stain striker, and they both have made me a lot of money 💰 and I am obsessed with them both. I’ll be glued to your channel, thanks for the content!
Hello, I am the power detect product development manager, I am very glad to hear this product can help you, could you also give me some other suggestions of this product during your using?
I bought my Apex based on your review of it, then the Vertex came out... I STILL have my apex but it largely sits unused because I've also bought robot vacuums based on your reviews. Now the Apex is primarily used for the staircase. My Apex STILL hasn't ever had a hair wrap issue, even with 6 (previously 7) furry animals (RIP Yukina), and 3 people with long hair in the house. I literally loan it out to friends that need to deep clean their apartments during move outs or spring cleanings. This PowerDetect looks absolutely INSANE. Thank you for making the awesome video, as always!
I used my first shark when i was in Australia for a couple of years. I was cleaning a friends flat for them and they had one, but they had never cleaned out the filter and seperator so they said it just wasnt working. I used our vacuum first, and it died half way through so i took a look at the navigator and got it cleaned and was just blown away. It pulled so much more dirt. Since then ive got the duo pet something and its ever more awesome. I swear that the new features for most vacuums are just gimmicky, but shark seems to just knock it out of the park with innovation.
They brought back the light at the handle when using tools it was introduced with the shark apex and never again returned until now.. it’s the only feature I really care about everything else isn’t necessary
I am not a fan of these power fins that a lot of these models have. Not as aggressive on a medium pile carpet with dog hair. My sis bought one and when I clean for her, it’s just not impressive. I just bought this one you’ve reviewed because it has actual brushes on the roller. I have to see those carpet lines! My clients appreciate them too! A 5 year warranty is good with me too!
@@joshuawells6203I’m not sure which model she has, but I bought the new Power Detect for my own home. I own a lot of vacuums because I’m just extra like that way. 😂😂 In case you want to know, I own Sebo (2 uprights X4 Boost, Felix, and E series canister),Rainbow(E2black) Shark(a stick vac and Power Detector corded) Miele (Marin canister)Kirby( Sentria 2gen, G5, and G7 Diamond Edition)and Dyson V10 Absolute cordless.
The real question to be answered is can both rollers be removed to get to clogged debris and for cleaning the unit? All these Sharks are a nightmare to keep clean.
I know, I miss the 1st deo clean vacuum they made. You could take out both rollers that vacuum was the best one they made the new version are getting shitter and Im generally having anxiety over trying to find a new vacuum that works well on all surfaces doesn't clog constantly have easy access to the lift away or something similar and wand as I have a cleaning business and if I don't find something comparable my job's going to get much harder and more time consuming. 😢😢
I gotta say, the hose Shark uses for their hand tools is awful. It's so stiff that if you pull on it to extend it, it pulls the vacuum onto the ground. Dyson figured out how to make a hose that extends without pulling the vacuum over a decade ago. Other than that, their vacuums are amazing. I've had the Apex since it came out and it's been a champ.
I think it's pretty good at least compared to the Dyson hoses. I have 2 Dyson uprights and the hoses are horrible with the stability on the Ball models.
@@Instegone And I completely disagree. With a Dyson you can vacuum whole mattress with the vacuum resting on the floor. With a Shark, hose is too short so you have to hold the vacuum close to you.
I agree with the Dyson having a longer hose, having said that the hose on it has deteriorated and has tears in it. When I tried to order the replacement hose online it said it was out of stock. So I went with the Stratos upright, so far I’m very happy with it. Only time will tell how long it will last me. The hose on the Dyson lasted me about 2 years before it started to have rips throughout it.
Wow! I could not disagree more. The one thing I hated about my 20-year-old Dyson DC14 was the inflexible hose. When trying the Animal 3, I was shocked to find essentially the same hose! If you pull it more than a foot or two, the machine starts moving. Shark may not be much better, but the Dyson hose is still BAD.
Just bought mine today. Price wise there was a $100 promo on Shark’s website, which made the purchase $299 before tax for the standard attachments. Cheaper than the Apex, Vertex and Stratos on Amazon with that promo.
Lots of unnecessary features that’s are not needed on a corded vacuum like the dirt detect and edge cleaning. These are crucial for battery stick vacuums where battery life and power consumption count, but corded vacuums do not need to ramp up and down to save power so running at 100% power negates those 2 features. I’ll stick with my Shark Vertex. (Which I bought based of your review) - keep up the good work!
Eh, I look at Dirt Detect ramping the vac up and down as just being a simple way of telling you when the carpet is essentially clean. It's more noticeable than some other solutions, like poorly placed LEDs. Definitely something for nitpicky people.
Hello, I am the power detect product design manager, thanks for your comments, at the beginning, I had the same thoughts as you, but finally we think this new feature will do help users to improve push/pull force feeling, since most time, if your home is not very dirt, the vacuum will run at a lower suction which can help decrease push/pull force and this is a big challenge for Shark previous upright products
@@liupeter8039 I doubt you will reply, but what does the long-term testing show about the constant switching involved with power detect? It seems like significant additional wear and tear on the entire powertrain to have constant power fluctuations. I won't be surprised if this feature is removed from future models due to this added component stress.
I hate that some manufacturers are doing this "detect" stuff. Why wouldn't you want full power all the time? 99% of the time, the up and down of power kills the motor faster and usually doesn't work very well. My Ryobi lawn mower is a great example. If it comes across a thick part of grass, it cranks the power up but because it has a ramp-up time, by the time the speed reaches its peak, you're already past the thick part and have to go back over it. It's ridiculous. These features are along the same lines as auto start/stop in cars. It doesn't really help, it only burns the engine out faster.
I absolutely love shark! I've had my vacuum for 10 years and it still runs like brand new. I want a new one but I can't justify it because there's no reason to get one 😊.
I bought it because of your review and was really impressed with the suction and carpet pickup (coming from a Dyson I was missing out!), but I ultimately returned it due to poor usability for above the floor cleaning: the hose is too short and the only way to use it is to carry the canister in the other hand, so I have no more hands to move objects or smooth fabric wrinkles on my couch; and the small turbo brush is completely useless and just stops once the fins touch any surface. There were other quirks too, like the annoying touch buttons for suction adjustment - no issue in upright mode, but they're right under the palm in hose mode and I keep inadvertently changing suction. I know you said you liked Sebo Felix some time ago - how does it stack up?
Sharks the best for upright bag less vacuums, and they came out with an impressive carpet cleaner. I just used the CarpetXpert machine and it was very nice, easy to clean.. CONS: cable is too short, the dirty tank doesn’t hold that much, it is incredibly heavy with the water tank… but once i started to use it, wow my house smells so nice lol!! I haven’t tried the Deep clean hose attachments… just spent the day cleaning my rugs for the house. The best vacuum mop (in my opinion) is the Narwal S10 pro (S20 just came out, it is smarter with stronger suction but I’m good for now since I use the Narwal for maintenance as opposed to deep cleaning).
Next time you test out carpet cleaners I think a good test to add if you could find a way would be removing cigarette tar/odor. I know that some people try to clean out cigarette smells or stains when selling a car or a home so I think this could be a very practical application.
It might not make a good video, but i would be interesting in seeing how much a flagship vacuum like this could pick up, AFTER a robot vacuum had a pass at it. (Like see how much the robot vacuum couldn't get/etc)
We have a Neato d4 on one floor and a roomba i7 on the other floor. Where the carpet is, our shark apex does get a decent amount more after the robots are done. We usually go about once every other week with the full size upright to keep up on the missed spots. Also we haven’t had luck with the edges and corners of rooms with robots so they tend to be dog hair traps at our house.
My 2013 shark corded has been the best vacuum Ive ever owned. Was blown away that it’s almost impossible to get replacement parts now that things are wearing out, and you have to rely on knock off amazon replacement filters. Received a shark cordless stick vacuum as a wedding gift, same thing… almost zero parts, a horrible website and support. Ready for something better and more robust.
I ordered the Shark POWERDETECT Upright Vacuum today from the Shark website. It is a Black Friday deal. They have three different bundle deals. I chose the $399.00 with a 100-dollar off promo (Power100). I'm crossing my fingers. I really don't like heavy Vacuums, but we have shaggy carpets on the entire second floor, and nothing is powerful enough to get deep down in them. I hope this works.
Really great review! I have a 2 year old Stratos model which I LOVE. The suction is incredible and effortlessly moving from rug to hard floors is extremely everyday stuff for me. I'm considering the PowerDetect as a gift for my daughter, but it looks like it's not any improvement on the Stratos except for some gimmicky bells and whistles. The edge cleaning does sound good though. The Stratos is a fantastic vacuum and I can't quite decide if the extras in the PowerDetect are worth the extra $$$.
So glad you are happy with that Stratos! The smart features on the powerdetect are a lot like ones we have seen on high end cordless vacuums - it will be interesting to see how everyone responds to them on an upright!
hello, I am the design manager of stratos and power detect, very glad to see you love stratos, also I will recommend power detect for your next purchasing, power detect also has a hided function of articulating squeegee, which can help you cleaning dirt at pull stroke and improve your cleaning speed.
@@liupeter8039 So, can you respond to the comments here on the Service from Shark for repair issues? So much going for your company,,,,maybe the older Units hold up better....all the bells & whistles tend to make a new product questionable in the repair issues, dept....just asking....I want my products to last!!!!
i just bought a Sebo...after having 2 sharks and 2 dysons...trust me that Sebo is worth it...bought it direct off the US site and got a free warranty upgrade from the std 7yr motor 5 yr parts and labor to the 10/7/7...they last 25 to 35 yrs...paid $549 for the k2 turbo...Miele is also a great vac brand...just stick with the bagged units...
@Bear10785 only downside worth sebo for the us, for example, is that the d4 airbelt with powerhead can cost $1400, but in the uk, it's only $600. Cheaper in Canada too, and they get more colors.
This is a great vacuum. I got two stick vacuums (Dyson Gen 5 / Shark Detect Duo) plus this one for my large house. I use the stick vacuums for quick cleans in my office and kitchen and around pet areas. I have 4 cats and a dog that are constantly shedding and need a DEEP clean of carpets often. This does a much better job than the stick vacuums and my robot vacuum.
I am thinking the edge suction feature is to try and make up for its lack of edge cleaning brushes. Still no removable main brush and no type of cyclonic filtration to keep the filters clean. All the extra detect features make me fear this being a reliability nightmare but maybe I am wrong. Interesting to see it has lesser crevice and carpet pick up than the Stratos. Still it looks very blucky and like the hose and handle design hasn't changed meaning the turbo tool is still super awkward. Dyson Animal 3 over Shark Power Detect any day!
i've been using Dyson Ball for years. I have to switch to Shark because all Dyson vacuum, whether it's cordless or corded, upright or canister, have very low front brush. It just pushes the debris. I have to lift up the vacuum put it right on top of the debris.
@@brody2642 The blocky features of the Sebo makes it a big no for me. I'm honestly happy with just getting a Shark Navigator. A good $150 vacuum that I don't care about throwing away in 5 to 10 years. My Mom still has hers from almost 15 years ago.
My Hoover Windtunnel that I’ve had for years has 2 settings, on and off. And instead of a bin I have to empty every single time I use the thing I have a bag I change like every 3 or so months. Slamming more features into a vacuum doesn’t make it better. It just makes it more likely to poop itself in a year.
@@gagesmiles He gave it a 98 for carpet cleaning towards the end but at the beginning said something to how it is the best upright they tested. The thumbnail even says "NEW KING."
@@Tar0245 that’s a great point, I just didint give this video the full focus it deserved when I watched it thank you for clarifying it for me, yeah that’s definitely a killer and super unfortunate, I’ve heard from the “technical reviews” guy who seems to be a vaccum technician, that shark has a weird tendency with making small bristles, which doesn’t allow for good carpet agitation, which is what you really need for deep cleaning carpets. I’ve also heard the duo clean function makes it harder to deep clean carpets as well having that front brush roller on it. One cool thing with this shark however for me is it’s crazy high suction. That’s kind of nice but disappointing when you realize that he mentions a wide air suction nozzle making the suction less effective when outside of a vaccum sealed space ):
Dysons have had a significant decrease in quality the last few years. They seem to be focusing their effort on the cordless and roomba type vacuums. Hell, even check their own site , specifically their flagship animal-ball 2-3. Reviews are BAD recently for their upright models.
@@raider1063 Yep. I tried the Animal 3 in store and the mechanism to drop the head is just bad. You essentially force the entire unit downward on the rear wheels and BANG the front drops. No lever or toe press area. This will no doubt get weak over time. Even pushing the store model into a transition strip between hard floor and carpet caused the wheels to "catch" and the head dropped. This design is just too finicky.
The pulling effect doesn't go away for me even with all the weight, I had to return it because it actually felt like it was trying to rip my arm off - With my disability I genuinely cannot use this without pain! Definitely did deep clean my carpet though. EDIT: Just tested it on hardwood and its just fine... It hates my carpet specifically I guess!
I purchased the Shark Vertex. At first I was really impressed. But after over 2 years of using it I can identify a lot of things I dislike about the Shark. 1. The hose is too short. It tumbles over and can’t reach everywhere. I know it can be used in lift away mode, but that gets heavy. I much preferred having the long hose on my previous Dyson upright and not carrying the machine around. 2. The power fins are great for hard floor. But, the machine does not groom carpet nearly as well as a traditional brushes especially thick carpets. 3. The pre filters seem to get dirtier much quicker than my previous Dyson. 4. The dirt cup is messier than expected. Also hair and other gunks often get wrapped around the metal cone on the top of the bin and then you have to reach in and pull it all out. This sometimes happened on the Dyson but not nearly as often. I think Shark improves the design since my model but the rectangle tank is not as good as round. Things don’t just fall out you have to reach and pull it out if it’s close to full or if there is a lot of hair and not heavy debris. 5. The attachments do not work nearly as well as other vacuums. For example, the power fins on the handheld pet hair tool are weak. If you’re cleaning car carpet that are really dirty the power fins do not groom the dirt out. The only reason it spins so fast is because they are hardly touching or grooming anything they touch. I found the Dyson attachments to be far superior for actually cleaning. Also the handle makes it hard to maneuver in tight spaces. The crevice tool also has like spikes on it and it scratches things if you’re not careful. 6. While the brush roll is self cleaning for hair you cannot take it apart to clean it or get objects unstuck. Only the front roller comes off. If stuff gets stuck you got to hope you can poke something in there to get it out otherwise I guess you’ll have to call Shark? We have had wrappers and other things get vacuumed up and you have to tinker with it for several minutes to try to get it unstuck from the back brush. Also, you have to regularly clean the front roller because it gets build up. Having a brush that just pops out is easier to maintain. If you have only hard floors and don’t do much above floor cleaning they are great! But if you plan to vacuum traditional carpeting or do above floor cleaning I’d suggest considering a different brand. The power lift away is great for quick cleaning but if you plan on cleaning stairs, cars, couches, curtains, ceiling fans and etc you’ll quickly realize a long hose is superior to a short hose with a heavy machine to try and carry. This also applies to the Dyson hand held it seemed great at first but it’s actually very tiring trying to carry it around to clean. I will go back to a more traditional upright next time I get a new vacuum. Just my opinion 🤷
I'd say get a miele or a sebo, they have uprights but the canisters are the way to go. Just so you know they're very expensive compared to these and I could understand someone not spending 4 figures for a vacuum. But the miele/sebo will last 10-20 years and they're known for being some of the most powerful and best cleaning vacuums, and super quiet. They're also bagged vacuums but bagged are better tbh there's a lot less maintenance, no cleaning canister required, filters hold up a long time, and they hold they're suction power.
@@gagelibbey4872 sebo should make a vacuum, that combines the feature of a Shark with best of a Sebo. The company seems to be sitting on its hands. A powered lift away sebo felix with a long hose, built in pole, lights, anti hair wrap fins, anti hair wrap comb, washable hepa filters, etc. would be awesome. the x7 is dead on arrival because it doesn't have a microswitch to turn its brush roll off when its upright. The company seems to be sleeping. I respect their repairability thou.
I am not finding this in the EU, apparently the max wattage for a vacuum cleaner here is 900W for eco-friendly reasons, sad I couldn't import one either because of the voltage mismatch.... I love vacuum cleaners and hate batteries, I love this one
I have a Shark Stratos and it's downfall is the rubber brush head. I have burned through 2 in a year. The rubber on the roller always breaks down. The last two have had chunks missing and rips in it. Only thing I use it for is carpet and hardwood floors.
$100 off with promo on the basic package on their website. I paid $299 instead of $399. I didn’t need the $499 version with all of the fancy tools and steam mop. Plus that one was only $60 off. I’m anxiously awaiting for it to arrive!
I have to say its really impressive, Shark seems to be on top of the game. I have a similar style Shark cordless vacuum - good quality and very versatile with lift away feature. Considering buying a corded one for once a month deep cleaning.
You guys need to remember he has been in shark vacuum ads. I have had newer sharks and always find myself going back to Dyson for the reliability. That’s at least what I think 🙄
As mentioned; shark parts availability is woeful and they never actually seem to hold up for any reasonable amount of time. Goes a long way to rendering them a wasteful investment vs a Dyson with stellar customer service and parts for models that are 20 years old still in stock on their website.

Please review a Multi-Surface cleaner, something newer than like the old BISSELL CrossWave 1713 which Vacuums, Washes & Dries Hard Floors & Area Rugs. Because there are carpet cleaners, there are steam cleaners, there are hard floor cleaners, but buying all seperately is a huge investement, would rather go for a multi-surface cleaner.
hello, i am wondering if u would review industrial vacuums as they can easily be used for home use and are normally much more repairable. shark and many big consumer vacuum companies have terrible warranties and almost no reliability or parts for sale compared to industrial vacuums. short term these vacuums are amazing, long term they fail. a lot. Louis Rossmann has a excellent video about the subject titled: Shark vacuum cleaner makes the only modern product that DOESN'T suck, sarcasm. thanks in advanced! I think your videos are fantastic regardless.
I went thru 2 shark stratos in 4 months. One stopped sucking and the other one switched off the other day and wouldn't come back on. I noticed the motor must have been over heating it was really hot too touch but the vacumn hadn't been on but a couple of Minutes
Does it have a light on the handle when using it like a handheld? The last few models got away from that & was hoping they realized it's very convenient when using it in that capacity.
Well I have had 2 brand New sent to my house and I can’t get through One Room in my house without it Stop Running it Blowing Fuses. And I have always had a Shark I can’t believe that this is the second one and it had done the same thing. So I’m hoping that they can get it Right.
Ah, not a new shark just 2 weeks after I got the Stratos DuoClean PowerFins HairPro as their best upright vacuum! Though I can’t complain about its performance.
EXACTLY! I literally just bought the Stratos Corded 2 weeks ago after MUCH research. Now I'm seeing this? Why was thos PowerDetect not on my radar 2 weeks ago? I'm concerned. DO YOU THINK THE POWER DETECT IS OVERALL BETTER THAN THE STRATOS, FEATURE BY FEATURE? Someone please advise me, before I start using my new Stratos! 🙏
@@jcremere9959 Keep your Stratos. The Power Detect is just a quality of life 'upgrade' over the Stratos (which was just a QoL upgrade over the Vertex), while the performance is basically the same. The only meaningful feature the Power Detect has over the Vertex or Stratos is that it automatically changes between carpet and hard floor modes, it's a manual setting on the older models.
I have some area rugs that no vacuum would work on it. Either they are too powerful and lift the rug or the brush roller stops. I ended up buying the shark cordless sweeper from Walmart. Don’t need suction just something that spins the brush roller
I said the same thing in my review! Best Shark upright Vac Ever. The Key for the DETECT feature is that the VAC changes speeds and power on its own. So you can vacuum the whole house without having to change any settings. Seems like a small thing but when you use it, it really does help with performance. Great review!
The top-of-the-line Miele is ridiculously more expensive. It's like asking to compare a Mercedes to a Ford. The Miele is better, but not worth the price difference to most people.

Honestly, there are much better cleaning and more reliable machines than Shark. Shark designs these to fail and then doesn't honor the warrantee or provide replacement parts. Glad to see they put the light back on the handle like the Apex. The stratos did not have it and it drove me nuts lol.
Glad to hear you had such a good experience with that Shark!
but not with repairs it sounds like...maybe we should just get the warranties...huh?
They brought back the light at the handle when using tools it was introduced with the shark apex and never again returned until now.. it’s the only feature I really care about everything else isn’t necessary
@kingtryton no, the much older rotators had them.
@sprockkets are those still sold?
Which one did you buy?
@@joshuawells6203I’m not sure which model she has, but I bought the new Power Detect for my own home. I own a lot of vacuums because I’m just extra like that way. 😂😂 In case you want to know, I own Sebo (2 uprights X4 Boost, Felix, and E series canister),Rainbow(E2black) Shark(a stick vac and Power Detector corded) Miele (Marin canister)Kirby( Sentria 2gen, G5, and G7 Diamond Edition)and Dyson V10 Absolute cordless.
@@kelleycleansitall4970could possibly rank them? How's Miele compared to Shark? Always been interested in them
A video of this one vs the Stratos verison would be greatly appreciated 😅🙏🏻
The real question to be answered is can both rollers be removed to get to clogged debris and for cleaning the unit? All these Sharks are a nightmare to keep clean.
yes i have one
I know, I miss the 1st deo clean vacuum they made. You could take out both rollers that vacuum was the best one they made the new version are getting shitter and Im generally having anxiety over trying to find a new vacuum that works well on all surfaces doesn't clog constantly have easy access to the lift away or something similar and wand as I have a cleaning business and if I don't find something comparable my job's going to get much harder and more time consuming. 😢😢
Nothing beats the Norden Vacuum.
We have the Shark Vertex. Got it in 2020 (or 2021?) and really like it. I hope it holds up as I heard many say they are not very serviceable.
@@Instegone I can't speak for the ball models, but I had a DC07 that I found in a dumpster that had a better hose than my Apex.
I'm still seeing that promo right now. How's it working out for you? Any regrets?
@@liupeter8039 Is their a bypass mode?
I hate that some manufacturers are doing this "detect" stuff. Why wouldn't you want full power all the time?
99% of the time, the up and down of power kills the motor faster and usually doesn't work very well. My Ryobi lawn mower is a great example. If it comes across a thick part of grass, it cranks the power up but because it has a ramp-up time, by the time the speed reaches its peak, you're already past the thick part and have to go back over it. It's ridiculous.
These features are along the same lines as auto start/stop in cars. It doesn't really help, it only burns the engine out faster.
Can’t wait to see the cordless version reviewed!!
I absolutely love shark! I've had my vacuum for 10 years and it still runs like brand new. I want a new one but I can't justify it because there's no reason to get one 😊.
So glad you are happy with what you have!
Thanks this was helpful....I like the Stratos so far...
I'd love to see how "top rated" more premium legacy products compare. Miele vs Sebo vacuums would be a great video.
I love my Miele and Sebo vacuums. They’re great! Particularly their canisters.
Sticking with SEBO for suuuure
They are the best!!!!!
KEEP THE SEBO AND DO NOT TRUST SHARK!!,
Love my Sebo for carpets and my Miele for attachments and dusting.
@@delegendarykg2614 I love shark 😢

Really great review! I have a 2 year old Stratos model which I LOVE. The suction is incredible and effortlessly moving from rug to hard floors is extremely everyday stuff for me. I'm considering the PowerDetect as a gift for my daughter, but it looks like it's not any improvement on the Stratos except for some gimmicky bells and whistles. The edge cleaning does sound good though. The Stratos is a fantastic vacuum and I can't quite decide if the extras in the PowerDetect are worth the extra $$$.
So glad you are happy with that Stratos! The smart features on the powerdetect are a lot like ones we have seen on high end cordless vacuums - it will be interesting to see how everyone responds to them on an upright!
hello, I am the design manager of stratos and power detect, very glad to see you love stratos, also I will recommend power detect for your next purchasing, power detect also has a hided function of articulating squeegee, which can help you cleaning dirt at pull stroke and improve your cleaning speed.

i just bought a Sebo...after having 2 sharks and 2 dysons...trust me that Sebo is worth it...bought it direct off the US site and got a free warranty upgrade from the std 7yr motor 5 yr parts and labor to the 10/7/7...they last 25 to 35 yrs...paid $549 for the k2 turbo...Miele is also a great vac brand...just stick with the bagged units...
Glad to hear you are happy with it!
You should do a versus powerdetect vs Stratos
You put me onto Shark vcuumes. I love my Shark!
Glad you are happy with it!
Agreed
Thank you so much for these reviews. I feel like I can confidently makes some choices on a new robot and upright.
great work!
You are very welcome!
Suction adjustment based on floor and dirt is both good but it makes bo sense to combine them in one vacuum
i've been using Dyson Ball for years. I have to switch to Shark because all Dyson vacuum, whether it's cordless or corded, upright or canister, have very low front brush. It just pushes the debris. I have to lift up the vacuum put it right on top of the debris.
The rise of Shark vacuums is kind of amazing. I sure like mine, which is older and still going strong, but this is sure a tempting upgrade.
Don’t. For $50 more you could get a Sebo which will last you 10+ years and is MEANT to be repaired, not THROWN away!
@@brody2642bags are a deal breaker though for me and a lot of people. They really need to get on board wirh what the customers want
A corded upright vacuum that can't deep clean caperts is totally useless. Can't believe how quickly you glanced over it
For real though. I thought with them giving it such a high score it would have been the best.
When does he mention that?.
@@gagesmiles He gave it a 98 for carpet cleaning towards the end but at the beginning said something to how it is the best upright they tested. The thumbnail even says "NEW KING."
Bro casually and quickly saying this did WORSE THAN THE NAVIGATOR NV352
Still the same inefficient cyclone that lets lots of dirt get to the filter,
Don’t get it and go for a Dyson if you want cleaner filters
I agree
Would you recommend this over Dyson cordless V15 detect?
Thankyou for your review. Wish these reviews would rate and review shag rug cleaning performance. We have carpet, wood, and shag.
Also the
handle makes it hard to maneuver in tight spaces.
Interesting insight
I am not finding this in the EU, apparently the max wattage for a vacuum cleaner here is 900W for eco-friendly reasons, sad I couldn't import one either because of the voltage mismatch....
I love vacuum cleaners and hate batteries, I love this one
I have a Shark Stratos and it's downfall is the rubber brush head. I have burned through 2 in a year. The rubber on the roller always breaks down. The last two have had chunks missing and rips in it. Only thing I use it for is carpet and hardwood floors.
I love the Ghostbusters mode!

Is the handle able to be plugged directly into the floor nozzle without the wand?
As mentioned; shark parts availability is woeful and they never actually seem to hold up for any reasonable amount of time. Goes a long way to rendering them a wasteful investment vs a Dyson with stellar customer service and parts for models that are 20 years old still in stock on their website.
