    Decent review. Purchased this unit mid December (2023) and up until last week it worked fine. The vacuum works fine. The charging station works fine. The auto empty feature flat out died. Called Shark and they walked us thru the complete troubleshooting sequence. They confirmed the auto empty function was dead. No news there. Then they advised that the docking station (battery charger and auto empty unit) are NOT covered under the warranty and I could purchase a replacement for ~$90 (US). I'll just return it as it is less than 3 months old. In the end they agreed to replace it at no charge. But still.............the auto empty/charging station was one of the main reasons we purchased this unit. And it's not covered under their warranty? Pretty poor in my opinion. Kind of like buying a car and finding out that the transmission is not covered under the warranty.

      Oh verrry interesting! I'm glad you got a replacement but that's troubling.

    Hi Erin great review thanks. Just curious, do you have any issues of dust getting into the triangle shape section inside the collection bin, which then can’t be cleaned or emptied? Thanks

    Thanks so much for the review! Greatly done :).
    I just bought it today and I must say that im generally very happy.
    However my Device seems to overheat when used at full Power.
    It only takes up to 30 seconds and the device turns itself off. Have you had such overheating situations while testing it too?

    Thank you for reviewing this vacuum as I just purchased one, and there aren't many reviews out there yet. Just to clarify, you need to be on the auto-detect mode if you want the vacuum to "detect" anything. The boost in suction only occurs with the "dirt detect" and "edge detect". With the "floor detect" the brush roll is what adjusts. The "light detect" is only meant to sense when you are vacuuming in a dark area so that it will boost the light (not the suction) thereby saving battery power by keeping the light low when not needed. A second battery might be nice, but I'm wondering how the 2nd battery would be charged since the battery is charged by placing in the stand. Maybe Shark will provide a separate plug-in charger for charging the second battery. I'm hoping this vac will live up to my expectations. Again, thanks for the review!

      damn what is adjusting exactly on the brush roll? I didn't expect mechanic parts to adjust, only power! impressive

    Nice review, looks like a well made Shark! A little pricey when you figure it on works on the high setting for 15 minutes. I have a very thick 1”+ shag carpet that I can barely move thru our vacuum. Do you think this one could work & be powerful enough to clean it well? Thanks Erin for your candid reviews.

    You are the only review that covers if the vacuum gets stuck on rugs as I’m having the same problem with my v12 slim. Thanks, I think I’m going to return the slim and get this one.

    I just got one. The spot where the handheld attaches to the stick seems loose when it’s together. Like it would snap if I pushed too hard while vacuuming. Each clip part is solid it’s just when it’s together. Is this normal? I’m new to a stick vacuum.

    What is the black clip on the stick handle used for? There is a spot on the base to hold the crevice tool, but no place for the brush tool to live. I thought that perhaps the clip was to hold the brush, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

    • @saintejeannedarc9460
      @saintejeannedarc9460 4 месяца назад

      To store the hand held part so it stands for storage. We don't even get the brush in Canada and that crevice tool looks near to useless as it a has a really large square head and isn't slim like most. Not happy w/ attachment situation. For some reason, we always seem to get gipped w/ the Canadian version and it's w/ other brands too. The UK versions seem to get the most perks.

      I'm only seeing the crevice tool for Amazon Canada. I hope it comes w/ that brush, which I really need for stairs. If I get this thing, I'll be yodeling at them for that darn brush. You could contact them and try.

    We just bought ours, came to your video to see if you could explain the Moon button on the base? You didn't mention it and I can't find out what it does anywhere.

    • @Brett_S
      @Brett_S 6 месяцев назад +1

      When the moon button is active when you dock the vacuum it does not automatically empty. A good time to use this feature would be if somebody were sleeping near the docking station.

    • @dianeklungle2166
      @dianeklungle2166 5 месяцев назад +1

      Hello. I have one of these vacuums and the moon button on the base is the quiet mode. It basically turns off the auto-empty feature so that you can dock the machine without the noise of the auto-empty.

      It holds the wand section for charging. Not really necessary on this one with the base. They sell this without the base also.

    Spare battery is $200 CAD so that is a major downside to swallow. I am on the fence specifically because of that since it means it cannot be used for the weekly house cleaning task. Central vac is still a much better choice at the end.

    • @saintejeannedarc9460
      @saintejeannedarc9460 4 месяца назад

      That's an insane price. I can't find the spare battery on the Cdn Shark site at all. The American Shark site has it for $70 though.

    Hi I purchased and gave it back- in a week. It was faulty the suction is so bad. I purchased the top end IW3611UKT. Do not bother. I am taking my time looking for another. Don’t get caught up with the 5 year warranty it’s just a gimmick not everything is covered.

      @ErinLawrenceTV  8 месяцев назад +1

      Great question… I actually think either the shark detect Pro, or the Dyson V 15 would be great vacuums, depending on your budget. I do think the Dyson is a bit of a better choice, but only if you have the budget for it.

    I bought LG and returned to get the shark , I felt it’s better than LG . LG started to make vacuum, but shark has been improving vacuums so I trusted shark more, plus LG app doesn’t work all the time and nothing really can you do for the vacuum on the app except the charge time and it is fully charged or not . Thank you for the video

      Will be interesting to see how LG does in vacuums. I've had 2 of their phones, and both lasted me 8-9 years. Their tv's are great too. Shark seems good, but nothing lasts, and all my LG products have great longevity.

  • @agenteles

    battery is the biggest down side of cordless vacuume, i have shark stratos with x2 battery because i knew one battery would not be enough!! their marketing is a BIG LIE!, the battery capacity is 2300mah, which i though was terrible, a smart phone has 3000-4000mah so this was very poor. it only last 60min on ecro mode, which runs twice as slow/suction. overall shark vacuum are great device but battery is definably biggest let down! i hope shark upgrades its battery in near future! else i dont think i'll be buying another cordless from them.

    • @saintejeannedarc9460
      @saintejeannedarc9460 4 месяца назад

      Comparing a vacuum battery to a phone battery is like elephants to mice. A vacuum has to work so much harder, so the battery draw is considerably more than to a passive electric device w/ no spinning brush head, esp. one that turbos. I am finding the Shark battery takes a long time to charge. Just got mine and it's frustrating waiting for it. So I'd really want a second battery to make this work. I have a Tineco A11 Master, which did come w/ 2 batteries, but it's so gutless compared to the Shark. Don't know how I put up w/ it for 3 years, but it was my first cordless stick, so an upgrade from my super old Bissell corded stick, which isn't much better than a broom vac.
