here's a few things for relieving ringing in ears naturally
Ensure you eat enough fruit and vegetables.
      Take vitamin C
Use herbs which cleanse the body eg milk thistle
Use herbs with infection fighting properties such as myrrh and burdock and others including huang qi
(I learned these and the reasons they work from Dajon Ear Relief site )

This was great, thanks, I have been researching "does tinnitus get progressively worse?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Meniley Deyilliam Method - (just google it )? It is a great one off product for discovering the real root cause of Tinnitus minus the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my m8 after many years got amazing success with it.

I guess I’m lucky, I’ve had Tinnitus for so long it has just become apart of my being.
I just ignore it and don’t hear it until someone brings the subject up and then it takes 10 or 15 minutes for me to ignore it again. It’s like if I stop and listen I can hear my breathing but I don’t pay any attention to that noise so why pay any attention to the other. There is noise everywhere and we just ignore it also. I just mentally decided to ignore it and I do with great success.

I have had tinnitus since 1975, but did not get a masker because they were actually worse than the ringing. Then I got a pair of Audeo B Directs this year. The masker is excellent. It was frequency-tuned and volume adjusted so that I barely notice the masker but the ringing goes away (as long as I have my hearing aids in). I am in hog heaven, now. I can hear and not have ringing. Win-win!

Totally according to you doctor, well-calibrated hearing aids cure tinnitus, and I say this because when my father had tinnitus he put on his hearing aids and it was reduced by 90%, but the most curious thing is that when he took them off, tinnitus It disappeared for hours and then came back, until one day my father told me that he didn't wear his hearing aids months ago and the tinnitus never came back. I think that relieving tinnitus is easier when you have hearing loss, but it is more problematic when you listen well but you have noise ... in conclusion, generally, better hearing, less tinitus.

I learned more from this video than my several visits to the ENT. I've had Tinnitus for over a year now and hearing test shows hearing loss. I got a hearing aid a week ago and I like the Bluetooth features of my hearing aid. I am making calls and listening to music right from my hearing aid. I like the Starkey app and listen to it really low so it's not loud or annoying. I preferred it over the masker that was consistent and I am able to switch the sounds.

I have had hearing loss for about 15 years and I used the Kirkland Costco basic behind the ear hearing aids. They needed to be adjusted a few times early on, but I realized after the first 5 year’s they were no longer helping me.
Fast forward to 2022 and after having Covid I was having Tinitus every evening mostly in one ear and put up with it for one year due to it now being 24/7 and causing depression and anxiety. Some friends of the family suggested a great Audiologist, and I found out my right ear has lost 80% of hearing and my left about 60%
I am 60 years old and don’t want to lose all of my hearing.
I also have headaches and dizziness with fatigue.
My primary Doctor wants me to have an MRI to rule out anything serious. Had to vent a little lol
Dr. Cliff I really have learned so much from your Video’s so please keep making them.
I’m in California and appreciate the time you take to put so much information out there.
    TY

I have had tinnitus for as long as I can remember but it was so mild that I barely noticed it unless there was dead silence. This past winter my tinnitus has increased dramatically to where I am almost always aware of it especially in my right ear. The ringing isn't so loud that it prevents me from sleeping but sometimes it does get annoying. What's weird is this morning when I woke up I didn't hear it at all. I thought that maybe the tinnitus miraculously went away. Then it was like my brain realized I wasn't hearing anything so the tinnitus returned.

I always whistle the pitch of my tinnitus for a minute or so and I have done so for the last few years and I'm absolutely experiencing it disappearing completely or almost all the way for that episode. my tinnitus varies in its severity and how long and loud the episodes last for. I get it every day and have found this is useful as a way of helping it. I thought of this as a way of accepting it at first instead of getting upset and that's why I believed it worked but it also seems to work in line with this sound replacement theory. I about to try my first hearing aid. thanks for the video

I started developing hearing loss in my late teens, around 16-18. At first there were no ringing, it was crackling. It started out with my dad being too loud and my ears would crackle like static, or when you plug in your speakers to your TV that popping sound. After graduation it moved to just a somewhat ringing in one ear, then it moved to both ears in my 20's and pretty soon I wasn't able to hear most things that are out of my peripherals (behind me, or off to my side). Most just assume I'm oblivious and not aware of my surroundings but I literally just can't hear them coming up behind me. I've lost count how many times I've completely just backed up into someone in the store, or couldn't hear a car coming up on me crossing the street. I don't think my hearing is *just* Tinnitus anymore.

    Hey Cliff,
This has been my first line of real treatment for my new onset tinnitus as a result of acoustic trauma (moderate hearing loss at 4-5K in the right ear). As you pointed out, it makes sense. The brain is creating this signal to compensate for the lost frequencies where those neurons are no longer stimulated. However, why doesn't it work for all tinnitus sufferers?? There is clearly a piece missing to this puzzle.
My audiologist fit me with a pair of ReSound Linx 3D. She did REM's and activated their Tinnitus Sound Generator (TSG) feature. I've had them about 2 weeks. I honestly cannot say I notice a difference. The TSG feature is too quiet and I need to get her to increase the volume. As it stands now, the amplification and the TSG volume are tied together. If I crank up the volume to hear the TSG, the amplification is too much for me. It's like being Spider Man. I can hear a bug crawl across the floor at 100 yards!
I think the TSG is too limited and not sure why ReSound doesn't just integrate their Relief app features into the Smart 3D app. It's curious to me that they don't do this. Give the end user more flexibility in the sound therapy that they can deliver via their hearing aids. The Relief app is free, so not sure of the business model they are going after on this one. I can go to the Relief app to get more choices, but then I take a hit on battery life because now I am streaming via BT and not staying native to the circuitry of the aids. Stupid.
If this doesn't work (I have a 45 day trial), my thought was to go with Signia's Notch Therapy they have in their hearing aids. The audiologist I see now does not use Signia because there is no local representation, but I think I can probably find someone who will dispense them.
Have you had any success with Signia's notch therapy and tinnitus management in your patient population?
    ATB,
    Michael

I would especially encourage any US military veterans with tinnitus to specifically ask their VA health care provider for a hearing evaluation. You might think that's a standard thing but it usually requires a specific request from the patient to get the primary care provider to write a consult to audiology. I'm finding that the great advancement which has been helping my tinnitus is Bluetooth in my hearing aids. I now have so many options available through RUclips videos for the exact background sounds that are pleasing to me and basically mask my tinnitus.
I'm going to pay a little bit closer attention after wearing my hearing aids for a full day to see if I notice my tinnitus even when I'm not playing a background sound

So long as doctors can continue to prescribe Prozac, tinnitus will continue to happen. This is only one of its causes. It does not happen to everyone who takes Prozac. It is one of the side effects and I don't remember being told about this. Sleep is hard to find when you have a noise louder than your alarm clock in your head.
People can distract themselves with other things. I knit and crochet and it is good for me, while I concentrate on what I make, I find relief.
The rest of the time, I often find a video lecture I am interested in. This helps. Playing the piano for me is ear therapy. It is also good for my emotions and my soul.

I have had tinnitus for about three months, the noise is easy to deal with sometimes, it goes super quiet for a few hours a day, I've got it through an ear infection, my ear became blocked, I had a few different courses of medicines from antibiotic drops to tablets to ear drops but eventually was given an urgent ENT appointment and had the blockage cleaned out and given the all clear, was told my ear drum has no visible damage, the ear canal and walls were in good shape. I was given a hearing test in the same appointment and was told my left ear (the one with the tinnitus) is slightly weaker than the right but not significant, I was sent home with the all clear (sort of) and told the ringing would stop in time "in time" which is now the default response from my GPs almost every time I go to see them.
What I want to know is: Is the fact that my left ear is weaker than the right (slightly is how the Audiologist described it) be the reason for the ringing (the constant ringing) and if not then what do you think might be the reason. The Doctors/ENT have all said that the noise should go at some point but I'm getting a little ticked off with that same damn response. So in your opinion and from what I've told you, d'you think that there is a chance I could benefit in hearing aid (I know you can't be sure but just a rough guess would help). I should add that I live in the UK and I half believe that COST is whats stopping the Doctors even consider hearing aids (budgets are being cut like a knife through butter at the minute).
    So opinion please.

Sounds like your tinnitus is here to stay and treatment would be necessary to reduce or mask the perception of your tinnitus. If it is the lack of sound to your left ear, a hearing aid may help. If it doesn't, you would have to undergo other forms of alternative treatment.

I was around the same age when I was diagnosed with tinnitus, I'm in my 20's now. The best advice that I can give you is to mitigate any possible increases to your tinnitus. Use earplugs in noisy environments and avoid using headphones whenever possible, but if you do need to use headphones, make sure you keep the low volume even if you can't hear the music that well. I avoided really caring about these factors in my teens, despite knowing about my tinnitus. The ringing is a bit louder now, but I'm taking as much precautions as I possibly can now. You might think the tinnitus sounds bad now, but it can still get much worse if you do not take the necessary precautions. Do not ignore caring for your ears, please take care of yourself. You are also still very young so don't let the tinnitus define who you are, and enjoy all that life has to offer. I'm wishing you the best of luck, stay safe!

Hey Doctor Cliff. I have a question for you. Have you ever heard of a Gaba effected tinnitus? My bf Has Tinnitus badly on one ear, and a little less in the other. It started 2 years ago after he was put on a medication called abilify. Ever since then he has had tinnitus. But whenever he takes a benzo like ativan or klonopin, the tinnitus goes away almost completely. He no longer takes those either and just suffers through it. When he mentions it to a doctor, they say he may be hallucinating it. A hallucination that has been going on continuously for 24 months?!

I had hearing aids fitted today. No reduction in tinnitus. My hearing loss is moderate from 3000 Hz to the limit of their test (8K Hz). The hearing aids only emit tones up to 8K. My tinnitus ringing is loud in the 15000 Hz range and 18000 Hz range plus hissing. Anyway, playing a tone or mask in the range of my hearing loss did nothing to reduce the ringing. Just wanted to add my experience. It didn’t help the tinnitus at all. The idea sounds good, play tones in the range of hearing loss…but it didn’t make the tinnitus less. Help please. Mine is horrible

    • @phonkyfeel1
      @phonkyfeel1 Год назад

What makes sense is playing tones that match the tinnitus ringing pitch at some type of waveform offset could cancel out the tinnitus ring.. So-the hearing test shows loss in range of 3K and up…but the tinnitus rings at well over 10K. My question is-why would an audiologist office equipment only test up to 8K? Why not be able to test up to twice that range, when human hearing range in 20 Hz -20K Hz ?
      Anyway..someone credible can answer that.

Hello! I'm posting here because I looked through all of your videos and I couldn't find anything on the subject. I'm convinced I have APD (Auditory Processing Disorder) where it is sometimes difficult for me to process what people say to me, despite the fact that the last time I went to an audiologist (for this very reason), he told me that my hearing was well above average, and that he didn't think there was anything wrong with my hearing. Whenever there's too much going on around me, it is very difficult for me to understand what people are saying and very young and very old people, or those with foreign accents are difficult for me to understand too. Also, even when I do hear somebody just fine... the phrase "in one ear and out the other" will oftentimes apply. Do audiologists work with/diagnose this, or is this someone else's field of expertise?
BTW, this video is very good at demonstrating what people sound like when there's too much going on around me, if I'm not focusing enough on the speaker: ruclips.net/video/Vt4Dfa4fOEY/видео.html

Ive had tinnitus (and hearing loss) for like 30 years and it has finally reached a point where it is preventing me from sleeping. I am not one to take drugs but I am almost ready to, just to help me sleep. But the fact that a hearing aid could minimize tinnitus is awesome news. So for sleepers who need the tinitus gone, I assume that most people will need the aid on while they sleep. Which (to me) means that in inner ear aid will be best because it wont fall off from friction with the pillow - I could be totally wrong in this assumption! Thank you for this wonderful video.

I typically recommend setting the masker at the lowest level possible (that still provides benefit) to run in the background. As long as you have your device amplification programmed to your prescriptive targets, you should be able to hit two birds with one stone. Masking is just one part of a comprehensive tinnitus strategy.
