I always thought I was stupid because I could never understand how to count money out, it prevented me from finding a job for many years, but one day I decided to get a housekeeping job at a hotel for a couple months, it helped me with my social anxiety. Then, I eventually got a new job at a craft store as a cashier. I put myself into a position to force myself to learn money. My coworkers helped me and within just two days I could count it with no problem. I blame my terrible teachers for never helping me.

As a biker, just because my hair isn't prematurely grey and I don't outwardly show the terror, it doesn't mean I don't worry plenty... Neurotic? I don't know... Maybe it's still neurosis when you have REAL reasons to be worried or anxious...
A lot of us (visible on video compilations) tend to throw temper tantrums.... smashing mirrors and acting foolish... and mostly it's out of FEAR... They're scared little boys on big machines that can kill you so fast you don't even get to realize when you've f***ed up royal... let alone live long enough to regret it.
SO maybe we're all a bit neurotic.. a little bit paranoid... Maybe it just doesn't get accounted for when we have real and good reasons to be worried. Some of us just prefer to avoid displaying our emotional turmoil to the public.
      ...just maybe... ;o)

I am defintely a neurotic loner. My autism makes me overthink a lot of things, and I find social anxiety stressful. It doesn't help that I got punished a lot for doing the wrong thing socially, or assigned more duties. I just wanted to stay under the radar, much to the annoyance of my siblings, who didn't catch on right away, but did later on.

Despite having ADHD, I relate to most of these if not all in someway.
I personally think I’m funny (im not like the worlds best comedian or anything but i feel capable of making people laugh).
If someone is sad or mad at me, then I always try to cheer them up and care about what’s going on with them.
I’m kind of curious when it comes to new things, it really just depends on what it is and how long it will take.
I’m pretty capable of changing my personality temporarily for things such as speaking in front of my class, or just socializing in general.
I’m incredibly anxious about myself and how other people view me at all times to the point where I will actively try and keep my eye on someone that I feel is staring at me judgmentally. It doesn’t really help it at all, but it’s nice to know who that is in someway.
This comes with ADHD (at least in my experience personally), but I avoid leaving my bed at all costs for both more time gaming or whatever and to avoid socializing with my family.
Extras: I’m overweight for my age, embarrassingly lazy, and just not happy with my life right now. Thanks to your videos, I’ve realized there is still hope for me to get in good physical and mental shape. Your videos have helped me think of the future and how my current life styles are going to affect it, and that’s what I’m using to inspire myself. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for your inspirational and informational videos.
Update: I’m proud to announce that I’ve officially dieted and have done some daily exercises around 3 times per day for a month! I’ve lost 13 pounds which may not sound like a lot, but it had made me feel so much better about myself. Also, thank you to the people giving me support in the comments.

I’ve met a lot of people with ADHD they were all intelligent in something. I have anxiety which is fast evolving into social anxiety. I like to win against myself, i force myself to interact with people I don’t know. This helps because if I feel like I made a fool of myself who cares I don’t know them and I’ll never see them again. I’ve found it does help. You will know when your ready then go for gold💖

  • @gelaiana9384
    @gelaiana9384 Год назад +5

Ever since I can understand words, I’ve been referred to as “smart” by my peers and family. I had a fair share of my life just sitting in the corner of a room, but where I’m at now, I hardly remember that phase.
From my experience and observations, the “loner” part stems from childhood. It’s natural tendency for children to be outgoing, so they try to make friends with as many people. But for an intelligent child, it’s not as easy. Children of the same age or grade level won’t understand what they’re saying because of their advance thinking. On the other hand, older children who have the same thinking would rather not have them as a friend because they’re too young. If their family however entertains their interests, it may not still be enough practice to interact with outsiders.
Luckily for me, I met a friend, 3 years ago, who is around my age and performs the same thinking as me. I am better than her at logical reasoning but she is better than me at creative pursuits. We like both topics as much as each does. My thirsts for knowledge grew as our friendship got stronger. We answer each other’s questions or solve for it together. It’s as if planets of two victims of -smart shaming- alienation started forming their own orbit around the sun. (Obviously, analogies is among the reasons why I’m left out, and now I think it’s better to say that my friend and I are covalent bonds.) She unconsciously taught me that I do belong somewhere and people like her are what intelligent people need. I mean, from an outcast I became an outcast adopter/fisher/mother.
Intelligent people don’t particularly need to be around a community who already knows everything, they just need someone who likes to form questions and evaluate answers, lives passionately, and themselves, seeks to be intelligent.

...I surely am a loner.. I want more friends, a girlfriend, better interaction with my family, but my introverted self fucks up all my plan when I tries to speak up.. yes I do have friends, but they often forgets me, not due to hate, but due to my little interaction with them, same goes to my crush.. Rn, Im trying to "ACT" confidently and extroverted, but deep down, I know, Ill always be introverted if I needs to Act out my act. Now if you're wondering what MBTI personality type I am, yes, I Am INTJ, which makes it Harder to communicate, share my thought, and be open toward others. I often feel socially awkward, anxiety, and depressed. Sometime, I just wanna trade my "Intelligence" for friends and partner.. I want bitches🥲💀💀💀oh wait yea, I got 6/6 for this video

I'm 5 and a half, of these. Because, I'm HALF introvert, I only have 3 friends, and I refuse to make new ones, because they are the best, of the best people, but I'm also introvert because, I stay in my room most of the day, and only come out to eat, and we all look out for each other, and.. I guess I'm smarter than I think? My friends always do say... "Don't listen to the people who call you dumb, because you're always smarter than you think"

May just be my potential OCD making me feel that way, I don’t really have a problem being by myself either though. Im good at conversation but I can be tiring constantly thinking of what to say, being nice, and smiling a lot of the time. I often vent to myself cause I don’t trust other people lol. Who knows maybe I cook be introverted or ambiverted and not extroverted. 🤷‍♂️

A lot of emphasis on test taking is placed in trait #2. Be cautious about that, for an extraordinarily intelligent person may take tests poorly.
Also, an intelligent person may be open to learning new things intellectually (who, what, when, where, how, and how much, so to speak) but be not so open to new experiences. In my observation and experience, one needs both to gain a fuller model, but the combination isn’t always available, possible, or desirable.
In answer to your question, I have all traits but #6 in abundance. Mind you, I have #6 in sufficient quantity and quality but every time I try to change, some external factor leads me to revert at least in part. After a while, I’ve settled for doing the analytical work but abandoned the effort.

    • @KxNOxUTA
      @KxNOxUTA 3 года назад

Yeah, analysis paralysis is real. That said new experiences doesn't necessarily mean "to do something new". It can be as simple as trying out a new thought, new theory or method, change a view angle, and try going to another field or method if information gathering etc.
So the type of "new experience" would depend on what your "need for safety" labels as "bearable" 😂 and on things like introversion or extroversion and if you're a thinker, healer, dreamer, closer type. And basically if "doing" is your thing at all or not.

    1. Not sure, but i always tend to watch anime and movies under the comedy genre. And i joke about stuff, often dark humor.
People tend to find it funny, as they're smart jokes, like thought through.
    2. Constantly... i can't stop thinking when i'm interested in knowing stuff... gets annoying when i stay awake for it, though.
People don't like me wanting to know more, and are like "k.. dunno why you want to know, but okay"
    3. Well... i kinda am, i'd love to have a lover and/or a friend, but i need my thinking time alone.
    4. ... An annoying one, as i often can't do anything about people's suffering IRL.
    5. I worry so that i can be prepared for possible bad/worse times... this world's a mess, and gets worse over time.
People told me i'm weird and such for thinking so much, but i can't help but to see so much suffering, and sometimes gotta stay calm, as i see other people not caring at all.
    6. So many times, in 2020 and 2021 i changed a LOT to feel better and to be prepared for the future.
I'm planning on creating my own videogames, and with that, a lot of thinking is required, and i love solving problems with games.
Not into constant thinking in videogames, i need breaks by doing other stuff in games, too... like a balance of thinking and acting.
Portal 2 is a great game for that, and some other games can make me think, too, like Breath of Fire 3, with the Masters, to balance and make my characters all strong enough against anything, then i tend to change my team a lot, to find more effective ways to use all characters, and i all combinations possible.
My brain damage, however, gives me some sort of loss of concentration, like it happens often, and then i gotta get back to where i was with my mind, but with others around me, that's impossible, unless they don't talk to me.
See it as a disconnection, and i gotta connect everytime, and look back a bit.
Other than that, i can think pretty deep, and come with solutions, even if watching something, making my brains wake up like "Hey! I got something!", and i have to pause, and write it down, before i forget.
Useful for myself, but not very peaceful, haha.

About point 4, there is a huge difference between being able to understand people's emotions and being empathetic. being empathetic does not in any way shape or form mean you're intelligent. understanding people's emotions and why they take certain actions does. you don't have to actually care in order to understand.

When I saw the “loners” point, I was curious in how Psych2go would talk about it. I thought it would be talking about how they are unable to relate and be comfortable with the rest because of not being able to relate. When the first thing I heard was “are you an introvert?” I was extremely disappointed-
It seems like the world doesn’t know that extroverted loners exist. Hey, I like talking to people and if given the right environment could chat for hours without feeling drained! But I don’t like the people I’m surrounded by, hence I stay away and become a loner. I’m still extroverted! I still like talking to people, it’s just that we are different and I can’t relate or empathise/sympathise with the people around me. The internet seems to just think that only introverts are loners, and forget that extroverted loners exist and the introverts are actually just hidden in friend groups.
It makes me feel sad and disappointed to see people just connect “introverts” with “lonely”, “loners”, and “extroverts” with “happy” and “sociable”. There are many different sides of the spectrum, introverted sociable people exist and extroverted loners exist. I hope the internet learns that soon. Sorry for the rant, but I just really don’t like seeing this stereotyped misconception ಥ_ಥ

See.. I think of introvertedness and extrovertedness as a spectrum. I think on a scale of 1-10 ten being a really outgoing extrovert that befriends strangers easily everyday happily, I'm a 4. I have my group of people that I really enjoy being around that drain me much slower than others do. But crowds will send me into a panic attack.

Me having heard of Spearmans G-Factor: well, duh!
(Basically: intelligent people are specialized in some areas but are still above average in almost all others as well)
If you want an actual intelligence measure, see how fast the person in question reacts to stimuli, at best automatic responses such as being scared or pulling your hand away from a hot cooking plate. The faster they react, the more intelligent they are since the biological basis of being more intelligent is s faster / better optimised nervous system that allows for faster thinking, learning etc. and as a positive side effect also faster reaction times. Make sure to sleep well, be hydrated and not hungry or majorly distracted by something else when testing it though, those all can slow the responses down

I think I’m decently smart. I just don’t do well on written tests. Not the way my brain works. I used to work at a grocery store. Often, I’d pull 8 hour shifts alone. Or in the evening, I’d lay out my plan to the PIC (person in charge). Many, many times I’ve had to change my priorities for what was done and would end up doing the work of 2-3 people, especially if a checker called out

Once you get above a certain intelligence threshold, it stops being purely beneficial. The further you are from average, the harder it is to form connection with other people. People who can relate to you become rarer and rarer. Society begins to actively act against you. Not with any malicious intent, but because it isn't built for you. Society is built by and for the greatest common denominator. The further you are from average, the less you fit. There's a reason many very intelligent people have severe depression, anxiety, and trauma. There's a reason they struggle with finding a job or keeping one. Some never finish school because school is built for the average and supports conformity more than excellence. Being a genius can be a blessing, but, unless the person in question has the luck or resilience to build or find a niche for themselves, it can be a crippling curse.
