Great video. I'm so used to playing out a bearish bunkers that when I played at a really sandy bunkers recently I had a lot of trouble. Going to have to practice both these thank you.
Thank you! My local course's traps seem to be low on sand. There is no dig at all, so I have to use the no sand method you teach. I'm having a hard time getting height on the shot when I close it a little, but now I see I probably need to dig it more (hit more steep and downward). thank you!
Hero information, thank you! Every other bunker video feels like it's delivered on the fanciest courses where they can afford sand. Typically if we are on youtube to learn then you can bet we are playing cheap courses with packed down bunkers. Would love a video on how to chip out from the hardpan under green-side trees and actually hold a green too!
love this, thank you!!! Now you just need to figure out how much sand is in the actual bunker you are in (yes, us amateurs find varying conditions throughout a course...)
I think the 'bunker' part of golf is pretty stupid for the average golfer. I play to a 5 hdp now, and I was a 5 back in the 90s, from the back tees then. I've played hundreds and hundreds of rounds of golf with many folks, and I don't believe I have EVER played with anyone that is actually good from the sand period. The scratch players in my club, get out of the sand, and that's about it. On top of that, in the morning our bunkers are completely wet and have high lips. I get up and down, honestly, about 1/10 times...maybe. And about 1/10 I probably take two to get out. Sand is freakin' hard period, and hardly anyone practices because the practice bunker is nothing like the other 50 bunkers on the course. Fairway bunkers are even more cruel. The best way to break 80 is to not get into a bunker in the first place IMO.
Agree.Stats back your claim that most of us shouldn't be in bunkers , however just being able to get out or even chip sideways will help minimize the damage. Otherwise you'd hit two from the bunker 5/10 times lol golf's funny like that.
Toppen Fredrik, jag åker direkt till bunkern på vår bana på Ingarö GK och slår några slag. Förhoppningsvis blir Ängen lättare att spela nu. Lycka till med spelet "over there" Mvh/Bo
Great video. Short, concise and both type of shots well explained.
Nice and simple explanation with extreme examples
This is a beautifully delivered lesson, totally solving my bare bunker nightmares. Thanks I’ll be watching more of your tips.

Excellent vid mate, I've watched a tone of bunker vids and this is one of the best I've come accross, thanks... 👍🏼

This is the best lesson I ever watched. Thank you so much!
Great video. This needs more likes
Excellent!
Can you also include, how to play from wet compact sand.
Soft fluffy beach sand plays different than thick brickies sand.

Digging your feet in the bunker helps dictate if theres a lot or a little

so no comments regarding how far behind the ball you are aiming! I always thought you had to hit about 4-5cm behind the ball in a fluffy lie
