- This is a PSI conversions LS engine harness. I am downloading the current stock tune from the ECM so I can prepare it to start the engine by deleting the VATS.
I ended up ordering this PSI harness because Holley Terminator X Max does not support the 6, 8, or 10 speed transmissions yet. My 1956 Chevy truck currently has a 5.3L and a 4L80 transmission in it that is controlled by a Holley terminator X max system and I love it.
I’ll be looking forward to seeing the progress and videos. Thanks again for the great content and your feedback
Thank you. I enjoy taking videos to share what I’m doing with both my current builds, 1973 Chevy k10 and my 1956 Chevy truck.

Great info! Please make a video on building the new run stand
I’ll do my best. I’m waiting to pickup a dummy engine to help me put it together
That is a cool harness! I have an Ly6 and a 4l80e combo out of a van I've been piecing together. You are using...hp tuners?
Yes for the factory computer but for your setup a terminator X Max would work well also.
I’m looking into buying a 66 gmc truck, the current owner has swapped it with a l96 6l90e combo from a 2012 express van. Everything works, but while driving it will throw a p0700 code and shift down to 2nd. It will stay that way until reset. Any ideas on what this might be or where to start? I’m thinking harness, but this is my first project truck. Good video and thanks
I would look how the transmission is set up with HP tuners. Is it a factory harness or aftermarket?
@@Greymancustomz I will check, after further investigation the engine is out of the express van, tranny is a 6l90e out of a Cadillac ctsv. And he used the factory harness from the Chevy express van. I debated ordering a harness kit from psi conversions, but that’s if I have to.
@@plutorootswoodworking that is the harness I’m using and it’s amazing. If you want to find me on IG, I’d be interested to take a look at your tune file.
Aaaahhhmmmm ?
Would I be able to use this harness to 6l80e swap my 2005 5.3 silverado? Or it’s much more complicated than that?
More complicated. Since the ECU for that engine can’t control the transmission. If you use the ECU from the engine that had the 6L80, it can’t control the engine without converting the 3rd gen LS to a 58x reluctor with another controller….. so I’d put a 4L80 behind it myself or get a 4th gen engine to go with the 6L80
Did you need to change transmission controller or was it plug and play? What is provided for Tach and Speedo outputs?
My ECM and TCM are from the same donor so I didn’t have to do anything special to get it to work. The TCM on the 6L90 is internal to the transmission. If I had a ECM from one vehicle and the transmission from another, they would need to be paired together. This harness is pretty much plug and play. There are some previsions on the harness close to the ECM connections that allow for speedo and tach outputs. But if your using an aftermarket dash, then you will have to get a BIM module to translate to your new gauges and Dakota digital sells those, they also have a module that is plug and play that adds in a cruise control controller. I’ll show the cruise control when I get it into the truck
What donor vehicle did you get this out of? Looks sweet!!!

How long did the psi harness take to complete
@@biggrich354 it shipped within a few days.
I have a L96 6L90E from a 2019 hd 2500 and swapped it into my 76 C10. I would like to make 500 RWH. In your opinion what modifications would be absolutely necessary for this goal. I have long tubes and plan on a beefy cam and forced induction either turbo or supercharger, but I’m trying to be budget friendly and keep as much of the stock parts as possible. Is that realistic? In your opinion what could I keep to reach that goal?
If your going to turbo it you will reach that goal with no problem.
I appreciate your input and am curious if you have done any forced induction on any of your projects and any advice you have to offer on that subject
@@martinolivas319 not yet but I’m planning to put a super charger on my L96 that’s in my 56 truck
