- After 3 long months of working on this epic build, I am happy to say it is MOST of the way done!
I have a few more things planned for the build but as for now, the van is ready for some adventures!
Hopefully this can inspire you to get out and do something awesome, this build was a lot of hard work but in the end, it is something that I take a lot of pride in since EVERYTHING was built myself. At the end of the day its my pretty special so I really hope this helps you to find that thing in your life that make you happy. :)

If you hooked up your water -- you are a plumber, maybe a novice, but look what you've done. This is a gorgeous van and I love how you built it. Be safe in your travels!
Thanks man 🤟
I love your van!!! Great job bro!! Great woodwork and electrical system. Good choice in lighting. Black paint job looks good. If people talk trash about your lack of storage, show the roof rack. Roof rack can hold your luggage and food. Everything you constantly use, fits inside. Im very impressed with you, for your age. You keep chasing your dreams, you will accomplish very much in life. Dont tell anyone your plans, just do it!!
Thanks so much! I appreciate all the kind words, it means a lot 🤙
19:40 bro you can add a plank of wood on top of that drawer and make it into an outdoor countertop where you can use it to cook and eat food
This young lad is so cute, as he explores youtube and begins his vanlife! Subsribed.
Welcome and thank you 😊
Dude the ladder you made looks amazing
Thank you so much
Very nice build sir !!! Looking forward to seeing your adventures, and seeing more of your projects !! Keep it up, your doing great work !!
Thanks, will do!
You're certainly going places Bronson, and in comfort, with the awesome fit out of the van.
What a great project, the mind would be buzzing thinking of all the ideas, and possibilities ...... wouldn't surprise me if you jumped out of bed at home many times during the build, and raced out to the van to see if the idea you thought up, "was gunna fit, or work"
The ladder is so cool! I own a 92 Astro shorti and I am slowly restoring it…can’t wait for my ladder to go on…love your work.
You did a beautiful job with your layout design and build. Anxious to share your adventures. 😊
Soon… 😁
Congratulations Bronson.
I've enjoyed watching the transformation. You've done a great job.
Thank you very much
It's a very lovely build.
Look into propane safety, by keeping your tank in it's own sealed off cointained space, with a vent underneath so any gas leakage can escape out of your van as that could be dangerous for you. It could be as simple as sealing the area where your tank already sits and creating a vent below, this is because propane is heavier than air, so if it leaks it flows downwards first, if there is nowhere for it to escape than it fills the surrounding area.
It would be worth getting a carbon monoxide detector as well as a small fire extinguiser.
You are very right, that is a very good thing to think about.
I will see what I can do better for ventilation. Luckily I already have a detector on the way!
I second that. I picked up a Safe T Alert Dual Carbon Monoxide & Propane Gas Alarm, which can be wired into the 12 volt system. I'll be backing it up with a Kidde battery-powered multi gas alarm. One can't be too careful when dealing with such things!
Great job on the interior cabinets and design layout.😀
Thank you, it took me a while to figure it out!
Yo, just found your channel, was watching this vlog, got distracted. Came back and my first thought was that I was watching Mav! Lol tripped me out for a sec
Lots of people say the same thing 😂
Great rig, enjoy the ride! I swear you time traveled from the 80's or something (in a good way)!
Awesome, I’ll take it as a compliment!
Pretty sick build, bro... Awesome job... I cannot wait until I can Start another build and finally get out on the road, man. Best wishes. Peace bro
Sounds awesome dude, whatcha plan on building out?
Nice work Bronson!! I look forward to seeing your adventures in the van. I’m hoping I’ll be on the road end of the year. Connecticut to Florida then I’ll be caravanning with a group from Florida heading to Quartzsite Arizona in January. Let the adventures begin 😁
Sounds like we might be in Arizona around the same time
How’s the Van build coming for you?
@@bgrace27 my build is coming along slowly. I’ve done the sound deadening and insulation on walls and ceiling. The Maxx fan is installed. My brother needs to finish the wiring. I bought a twin bed frame to use just get out and have some fun this summer. I’d like to have built a trifold bed frame so I can use it as a lounge chair and covert to a bed. I’ve bought the Overland Kitchen set up that I need to assemble. I need to install some type of anchors to strap the kitchen to the wall or floor. Any suggestions??
@@nancyjohnson2070 try one or two hole EMT conduit straps. They might work if you have round tubing
Great little van! I bet as you camp your mind will come up with additional things to add or switch up. Great use for the space you have. You’re very creative. Enjoyed your video and I’ll look for you in Quartzite next January!!
@@bgrace27 there are places I can hook on the wall. I got straps to ratchet them down. 😁
This is so comfy! Great job. Love it 🔥
I would love the lights
100% worth it
Congratutations on your van build, well done. You probably can consider lowering your bed a few inches to give you better head room while you sit, of course, if it's possible. Other wise it seems to have all that you have intended. Good job, great travels.
Thanks for the tips!
solid build, I think you might consider having your bed flip up so you can access under it for storage.
Congratulations! Enjoy and be safe.
Thanks!
Love the split rear door 🤩
From South Africa... I found that a collapsing ladder 🪜 is a great advantage to access the roofrack, rather than a ladder fixed in one place, BTW, my camper is a Landy discovery II, td5. Which is obviously 4x4.
I REALLY like your awning arrangement, keen to see a vid on your construction.
Your build out looks great 👍 kukus to you, but, thought that mostly outdoor cooking is preferable ?? Also. Keento see your poop & shower 🚿 solution.
WELL DONE ! 👏 ✔️ 👍
RGDS
Warren
Thank you, I hope to have some videos like that in the future!
Love the van. You remind me of Ryan Hall y'all.
Hahaha thank you
I love the work you did on the van !
2 months behind ya! Safe travels 😊
That’s awesome! You building out an Astro as well?
Definitely put in new transfer case with manual 4×4.
I want to so bad. $600 holds me back…for now
the cedar paneling is beautiful. i would have put a 12v fridge and a microwave and not put in the stovetop. added another solar panel and to save room put in a 200 wh amp. where do you poop?
I did end up with a 12v fridge but not the microwave 😂 too much power consumption
I poop in the woods or in public restrooms and have never had a problem
Welcome to the Astro Safari club brother. If we’re ever in the same area we should team up! Take care
That sounds great, thanks for the welcome
Imagine being this young, rich, and talented
I may be young, I’ve got some talent, but I’m surely not rich! 😂
I appreciate the thought though 😁
@@bgrace27 that’s on the way broski, that’s on the way. Especially since you live in a van. Some monetization and steady content? You’ll be good in no time. See ya down the road!
Hey dude the yellow would look cool with black stripes. Hello from New Hampshire...
He sounds like Mav, love the vids man!
Thank you, I appreciate it!
I agree, Thought of MAV as I was watching this
Love the yellow
I love the van!! The wood was a good choice 👌
Thank you 🙏
Love the van. Color, build and everything!
🤙😁
I love watching van builds. Your channel just popped up. I have to say you have the cutest personality. I will stick around for more content. Can’t wait. By the way, love the color. It reminds me of BumbleBee, my favorite Transformer.
Haha thank you, I appreciate it!
Very cool van ❤ Good job..
Bronson, you've done an amazing job with your Build, love the Pine !
Thanks, got some ideas for my build from you. Currently gutting my 1989 Chevy G20 Van.
That’s awesome! I’m glad I could help
You’ll have to send me some pics when you finish!
Feel free to message me on Instagram @bgrace_outdoors if you wanna share or ask any questions
Thanks for watching 🙏
Everything is SO interesting, fantastic, great, beautiful and creative! Thank you SO MUCH! 🙂🙂🙂 Highly appreciated.
You’re welcome, thank you for the kind comment!
Shes like the van version of Bumble Bee 🐝 Nice job.
That’s the same thing my mom says 😂
I used to live in toole Ut back in the old days.
The bars in Utah used to only have 3.2 🍺 fun times.
That’s awesome 😂
Impressed! I have grown bored with many van builds but this is radically different. Nice work!
Thank you very much! It’s great to hear I am unique
Great job!!!!
I love the paint job and the layout. AWD with 8” lift… great! With your solar panel, you are set to travel. Congratulations on the build and choice of van. I’d be tempted to turn passenger seat around permanently to have a recliner for sitting, but I travel alone. You’ve got a great van.
Thank you very much! I would like to flip the passanged seat over permanently as well, but I will need it for others occasionally
You did a great job on the rebuild! Looking forward to seeing where that lift/AWD will take you in the future! New sub#423👍cheers and safe travels, Lisa
Me too, it going to be a lot of fun!
Also, thank you for the sub 😁
Nicely organized. Love the clean look and the details are extraordinary. Enjoy the rode Mr.👍🏼
Thank you so much!
Absolute Beast! Great job mate! Looks fantastic. 😎👍
Thank you!
Very nice build, Bronson. Very well thought out. Just curious...are you planning on putting in refrigeration at some point? So far, I'm using a cooler, because I can usually just get away for only a week at a time...( I take care of a colony of seven cats.)
I hooked up a nice 120 ac dorm cooler, but in the end it wasn't really used, and just took up space. Anyway, great video, great build, and I'm looking forward to viewing the others that you have made. Love the swivel seat, too.
Happy trails.
Michael
Oh yeah, I subscribed too.
Thanks for the kind comment Michael, I have in fact put a 12v fridge in my build in between the two front seats and it works sooooo good.
I have began traveling now and it has came in handy more than I thought.
I’ve thought of getting a cat myself for company In the van….
What do you think?
Very nice 😊 you did a awesome job.
I love it, Sir I have a beautiful black Ford Van.
Nice job young man. Have a great time.
I will, thank you!
Nice conversion and lovely woodwork. Well done!
Thank you!
You did a great job. It’s a great van.
Thank you!
You did a great job on your van! Your attention to detail is amazing. I’m definitely going to follow you. Looking forward to watching you grow! Good luck!
I appreciate it! I hope you continue to love my content 😁
Nice job young man..enjoy
Be sure to chk New Mexico in your travels. I am working on my Sienna , but I am a 73 year old woman with no tools 🤭. 👍 electrical.
I sure will plan on it! New Mexico seems to have a lot of hidden gems.
Good Luck with the sienna, sound like a blast!
I think im gunna copy your build.ive been digging to find the best way to build out my awd safari.mine is at 5 inches of lift with 31" Patagonias.
Hell yeah
I have a feeling that your channel will do very well.
I really appreciate that!
I’m hoping it does 😁
Ti keep the rear door open hook one end of a bungee cord to the door latch and the other end to your wheel or wheel well.
Good idea, I’ll definitely keep it in mind
Hmmm
What made you select the long-discontinued M-van? It was a great platform, with available AWD and a nice big 4.0L V6. Much more practical than the "minivans".
Price 😁
I’m just a 20 year old kid so I didn’t want to throw more than $10,000 toward the Vehicle, camper build, and extras.
So far it’s worked out and I love the Astro and I’m now realizing the Astro having the size it does, is super convenient for everything
@@bgrace27 good choice.
Was there ever a cost breakdown video?
I’ll have to do one huh?!
Love it! Nice job. I love my old Econoline but rear wheel drive really holds me back. Have to have a 4wd on the side.
For sure! 😁
From the Island of Puerto Rico you have a new Suscribes. I have 2002 Astro that we call "Bluebie". (My english is not to good but I am sure you understand me)
That’s awesome, I’m glad you are interested!
Nice build. I know lots of people cannot stand up inside, but you might get tired of not being able to sit up straight. Maybe a swivel on passenger seat?
Already made one!
They ar e never done ! 👍🏻♥️🍀 Safe travels 🍀
Good job. Nice rig.
Thank you
Not bad at all I really like it looking forward to more of your videos ❤
More to come!
Congratulations on an amazing build.❤. I have a Chevrolet Astro cargo van that I wants to build out. It a 2004. I loves your creativity ❤
Thank you for the kind words!
That’s awesome, you should definitely build out the van!
Great Job!
Thanks!
Beautiful build, the only thing is it seems your bed should be maybe 3 inches lower so you can sit up comfortably on the bed.
I agree but I also need the storage unfortunately 😁
Nice build 👌
awesome van build. you did a great job. 👍
Thank you so much!
Nice man 👌🏻
Thank you 🙏
Where are you going to store your food? Only thing I didn’t see…lol…otherwise an incredible job done and happy trails to you!
I’m still figuring that out…
Looks great
You did a good job. I do have a question for you. I notice that you were able to open the back hatch with a push button from the inside that is something. I would love to have. I can't open mine from the inside only from the outside.
Did you install that or do you know how to install that?
Mine is 2004 passenger van AWD ASTRO
I believe they sell a kit that will open these manual doors, the previous owner installed this but I can see that it is wired with a custom locking system. Doesn’t look hard to install once you take the door panel off.
Unfortunately I don’t have a link for the product tho but I do know it is very nice to have!
@@bgrace27 Excellent. Thank you so much I will keep doing some research.
Lol I wish I watched your video like 2 hours ago I just grabbed myself an emblem from the junkyard!
I still need to do that 🫠
Bright lights hurt my eyes. But I'm sure you enjoy it when you go off road in dark area's. 😊
It’s awesome 😉
What are the brand of headlights you used
I can’t remember but they are on Amazon. They were $40
It looks nice and useful.
If it works well, you will see, when you use it.
I want to do the same, but my van is smaller. Like a Ford Transit connect.
Sometimes I think: Too small for me ? Better a full size van ?
But a bigger one would cost more money, and less mileage.
Greetings from sw germany, middle europe. Liked and subscribed.
Awesome! I also considered something like a transit connect but now that I have the Astro, I wouldn’t dare go any smaller.
If it was my choice, it’d spend the extra money and get the bigger van 😁
@@bgrace27 I think about it, to find a choice.
Now I fix my station car, and my small van.
If I sell both, to buy a bigger van ?
But I need to use it also as an all time car.
i cannot have two vehicles.
But bigger = more difficult and expensive, to drive, and to fix it.
That's more like a zero inch lift there buddy. sorry to tell you. Nice tires though
Awesome job!!!
Thank you!
Pretty cool👍
veo a muchos cometer el error de poner la estufa para cocinar en lugares cerrados sin ventilacion y no toman en cuenta que con el tiempo la grasa del vapor se impregna en las paredes y techos lo que hace que se dañen mas rapido
no fridge? did I miss it?
I’ve got a 12v fridge in my center console
@@bgrace27 ohhhhhh
Great job looks great man
Thank you

@@CrazyLuch1 heck yeah, thanks bro! You the MAN
Looks great get traveling then adjusting, save up for a Power Supply like Jackery, BlueEddy 🤷🏼 a must !¡
Got a knock off one already 😁
That’s Utah?? It’s so lush, it looks like Hawaii.
It sure is, it was a super wet winter so everything is very lush this spring
U did a awesome job
heck yeah😤😤🦅
Good work
Thank you!
Where did you get the head lights a
I got them on Amazon
@@bgrace27 there are so many and alot do not do high and low beams.
Awesome 👍
vanlife4ever!
Were do you keep your cooler
In between the front driver and passenger seats
Great job. Jealous. If your using stock sed electronic easier to dump it and install manual kit from journeys. They would be my first call to troubleshoot fuses. It's a motor actuator so shorted, jammed etc.goid luck
Super helpful, thanks!
Its a VANANA 😂 🍌
You know it 😉😁
bro I don’t think that’s an 8 inch lift. at most that’s a 3 inch, it even looks like 2 inch. Check the bottom if it has subframe spacers, coil spring spacer, etc. and rear look for shackle and spring hanger. Those are used for 5-7 inches, I don’t think you will see that. 👍
You’re right, I’m aware but thank you for the info 🫡🫡
Love color my self
