Frank has a great talent to play duo and chamber music..I was so impressed by his performance with Timothy Ridout back in 2016, and I really admired his talent. This concerto proved me right, his talent is way beyond my expectations! Such great music composed by Kapustin and great performance by Frank!
@@Nooticus Trust me, there's definitely small, subtle changes. The drummer mirrors more of the rhythms throughout the rest of the ensemble. The score does this sometimes, but much of the time he's supposed to just keep the beat by playing straight eighth beats and such.
was this edited to be acoustically closer to Angelov's live recording? I loved Frank's original, drier recording but the added reverb here really suits this piece too! so good
Yess! i agree with your opinion. The result track wich i made is quite similar to Angelov’s one. I just put on track an altiverb-plugin(sound likely to make acustical reverb) to create likely real acustic reverb sounds. 😊
I feel a New York energy in this totally Russian composer's style. Kapustin gives me the impression that while he seems to have an American side to his compositional style, he is too blatantly Russian to venture forth from his country to discover the 'glories of America.' What a waste!!! He died undiscovered!!!

I feel like I discover a new world of classical music
Welcome
me too welcome to the new world!
You should also listen to concert rhapsody by Kapustin
1:12 is the most beautiful thing i ve heard so far
agree with u, so much goosebump lol
The thing that makes this recent recording so so good is the tightness of the ensemble, and the subtle changes the drummer makes throughout the score.
Pretty sure that the drummer has made no changes and that all of this detail was written by Kapustin in a detailed score

@@tfpp1 interesting! thanks
Es una genialidad, es una mezcla de prokofiev y Gershwin y jazz...
All I can say is WOW! Totally Absolutely Scintillating!

)
N.Kapustin is a Huge Talant!
Alright! I totally agree with that. He was a truly genius pianist and composer.

Sometimes too much editing but amazing performance!
Yes, to the uploader: would be so nice to hear the unedited version too!

Ich stimme dazu. Vielen Dank für Ihre Kommentare.
I may be wrong, but I hear where some inspiration for Cory Henry's playing in Lingus is from.
which parts? timestamp plz
@@Pianodud 2:38-3:50 and later similar runs, those parts, structure wise, give me a Lingus vibe.
@@BC-fh3jt oh i agree
