For the last tip if you wanted to you can spay your snails to stop them mating while on wander if you don't think you're going to breed them, probably easier to tame them than raise a baby anyway :D

    • @OMC-WILDCAT
      @OMC-WILDCAT 2 года назад +11

We always just weighed them down so we didn't need cages. The weight will keep them from mating as well.

    Two small details:
You don't even need to hit the troodons. Just holding a torch, having a torch on your dino or electric lights makes them flee instead. But if they are already attacking, they will continue. Light pets don't work, however.
You can put torches on the saddle without taking it off if you pull the torch from your dinos inventory.

  • @Mlckey

From my understanding the tradeoff for having a female character is, she has a smaller hit box. She may be slower at melee hits, but she is harder to hit which makes her harder to kill. Achatinas won't mate on wander if you spay them or at least two of the three (if you want to breed them in the future) and they will still produce poly and CP. I didn't, however, know you could fill a canteen while mounted on a tame. Thanks for the tip!!!

Nice to see someone showing the speed difference between genders due to animations. Some people have argued it is a myth.
One somewhat-useless tip I can provide: the drag weight on the wiki is the amount of weight your character requires to move a corpse or other drag-able creature. So if you have 540 or more weight, you can drag around the corpse of a Rex and thus the corpse most any creature that can enter a boss arena besides Moeder on Genesis Part 1.

    - More tips,
    - 1. You can also have your Mantis hold torches, (edit; nope, mantis no longer holds torches it seems 🤔) I had one at the front of my Quetzal airship 4-5 years ago. Will build another now that I'm getting back into Ark. I don't know if it's been patched, but at the time the torches didn't burn down. So infinite torch trick for keeping the base lit up.
    - 2 - Female/male balancing was tested 5 years ago.
    - Female characters are harder to hit (Smaller hitboxes.)
    - Female Attack speed animation is only slower with short range weapons like swords, or harvesting tools used as weapons.
    - Stamina Drain is Higher on Male Characters. Lower on Female characters.
    - Spears, & Pike animation attack speed is the same regardless of male/female characters.
    - All ranged weapons have the same attack speed regardless of gender.
    - Harvesting speed is the same between male/female toons, regardless of the animation.
    - If you make a character with long arms, it gets a tiny boost to hit range with melee weapons.
    - So, make a female toon with really long arms, & use pikes/spears, For the win.
    - 3 - Oviraptor can peacefully pick up all *Wild* eggs.
    - Want your Oviraptor to stay still when it's on wander for that egg production buff? Fill it's invintory with metal to weight it down.
    - Oviraptor lvl doesn't matter, & you can feed it meat once it's tamed, Without having to waste eggs.
    - 4 - Insta tame a Daeodon by making it hungry from healing itself before you tranq it.
    - Daeodon's can be used to raise Wyvern, & Rock Drake Eggs without needing milk, or Venom.
    - Gonna test this method with a Snowowl l8r.
    - If you have a cryopod, you can avoid milk/venom all together.
    - You don't have to fully feed up the Daeodon, Keeping it's hunger stat low, you can feed it to get heal pulse, stop, then repeat.

Some Notes (numbered according to numbering of factoids in video):
    2. While male characters do hit faster, they are also larger Than females. In PvP there is more benefit to being smaller and having things like weapons and hands in use completely covering hit boxes. Because in PvP ranged matters a lot more than melee.
    10. A Mesopithecus is better in theory than in practice. It can very easily miss (especially when mounted), and you have to have it on aggressive or attack my target for it to even try its ability. The dice roll of its ability even coming into play is especially unfavorable online.
    11. If you tame a rock elemental this way. You will lose massive amount of efficiency. One of the points to using a well-made trap is to prevent splash damage.
    13. You can also throw a torch at them for the same effect. However, at that point you've thrown away your torch. So, it's more of warning to be careful not to accidentally toss your torch away while using it against Troodons. Something else to know about Troodons is that while their attacks do a lot of torpor damage. They don't do hardly any health damage. Judicious use of Stimberries (with no fortitude about 5 per bite) can allow you to stand your ground easier.
    22. This rapidly depletes Tek Armor Durability.
    39. Some Saddle weights are higher than 20.

      - I'm not so certain speed actually boosts it's paste production, I've never noticed this. better idea to level up food. It eats cake... Or experiment & see for yourself, it's 60 seconds per paste. server settings might affect something.
      - More Achatina Tips, If you want to make that Organic Polymer into normal Poly, make something with it, like a fridge, then destroy it to resources back, You get normal Poly back. I think that's still a thing.
      - I once tried to keep wild Achatina in a pen instead of taming them, but at the time they despawned from the biome/island I based on.
      - But if you have base in their normal biome/spawn area, why bother taming em. lol
      - Like with other wandering dinos, if you encumber it with heavy stuff like rocks, it stays still on wander. It's probably just easier to use a cage them, I tried encumbering breeding dinos, & noticed the patched that, can't breed encumbered dinos... :( So up went the ol thatch walls,
      - If memory serves you can drag/carry an achatina using a Grapple hook, then fly it to a safe spot to tame with a Ptera. Again I don't know if any of this has been patched.

Great vid mate!! I feel like such a noob lol, Did not know you could fill a canteen in a dino inventory, did not know you could attach a torch to a saddle and i play PVE so 1st person is my preference, so didn't know the 3rd person shotgun reloads like a clip, those are some of the examples i did not know and those are probably the most simple and obvious on the list lol, ofcourse I didn't know ALOT of the others too but these are ones i'm shocked about what a noob lol!

I really wish I knew that Yuty taming truck earlier. Would’ve made taming my ADHD Rex a whole lot easier.
Also good tip picks I’m pretty sure I only knew like 2 of these.

You learn a ton on pve. It's why I recommended most people who play get a few hundred hours on a pve servers guys on there share alot of info. Then make the switch to pvp.

:D. There's no difference between console and PC btw! Everything is the same minus how bad consoles run the game compared to PC haha.

Thank you very much for all these tips my friend. Love it.
Quick question for you or if anyone is reading:
How do you tame a jerboa when you have too much strength and you kill it with a single punch?

    • @BEYPlaysGames
      @BEYPlaysGames  2 года назад +1

Thank you! And no problem, haha, I can't say i've had that problem before! Have you tried using a longneck rifle with a tranq dart? Not sure if that would kill it or not!

@@BEYPlaysGames I tried with a crossbow and an anesthetic arrow but also died the poor beast. I tried with narcotic traps. there it is not dead but impossible to give mejo while it was unconscious. On Scorched it's easy because they're everywhere at the start of the game, so when you don't have a lot of strength yet. but on Ragnarok...oops. Never mind, I'll use the admin commands, but it's less fun
