Fjordhawks are also useful for fast travelling. Normally with a bed, if you try to fast travel it will drop your items but the Fjordhawk brings them to you. Very useful tame.
Something I like to do is black box my weight with metal from dunkle runs and just fast travel home, you can do the same with an anky but of course this is more practical for single player since it’s not easy to build a checkpoint at every metal area
The desmodus is also very good at gathering spoiled meat, if you harvest the corpse of a dino you get a ton of spoiled meat which makes it a lot quicker to make narcotics
I think one of the most underrated features of the snow owl is no inertia when stopping in the air! being able to instantly stop is such a nice and under appreciated feature :)

The maewing’s nursing effectiveness also increases the food effectiveness for the babies by 1% per point invested, and I believe it even works on nameless venom for rock drake babies
@@jakec1198 take the food value of whatever they’re eating and add 56%, so like (I’ve been out of ark a few days now so I’m not totally sure on the number) I believe raw meat for babies is 50 food, with 156% it would give 78 food each time making the baby eat less often. Combined with a (I believe female mate-boosted) Procoptodon you could reduce consumption by 50% as well if you wanted to min-max it

There are rock drakes on vanaheim (midgard) as well. Towards the upper middle part of the grasslands there is a cave. There are shinehorns rollrats and a karkinos. There is also a a couple nice loot drops. The rock drakes are after the cavern with sabertooth salmon.

Sure isn't a usual tame. But have enjoyed getting myself a Fenrir. Insane starts. Ice armor etc. Is lot of fun to ride around on. And with a pack, oh my .. sure, need to kill a boss to even get one but it's worth it.
I found that with the Desmodus and the Elixir, if you give the 30% imprint then cryo and release the baby, you can do it again and again. (I use the Dino Storage v2 Soul Traps, but I assume it works with regular Cryopods as well.)

I am quite happy to say, I stole two 175 eggs (I have my single player override pretty high, so a 175 isn’t too rare, but still exciting) and they ended up being male and female. Sadly all 3 170’s were male, but I digress. 😆
Joined a random server yesterday, found an unclaimed Desmodes (whatever) and claimed it. Haven't been able to craft a saddle yet but now I'm super excited to.
I've to this day still tame one and use it to act as an incubator for those tricky eggs. Easier to breed and mutate a good incubator than farm and craft enough AC's to start a new Ice Age.
Thanks mate! Rock Drake is better overall for combat but the Maewing is so good and much easier to tame, Maewing is amazing for looking after babies which is why I mainly use them! I'm also on Xbox Series X :)

If you're on breeding setting like that you probably have boosted taming, i'd always play it safe though and bring 100 for yourself and 100 for your Daeodon/Moschops you're using!
X-Rock Elemental is the best to tame once you have cryos.They can be found in the Magmasaur cave. Thats where i found 2 in single player one i tamed the other i killed. they havent respawned since, which is annoying me. lol Way better then the Giga at boss fights.
@@lazygamer7176 Yeah they're good for not taking alot of damage and do a decent amount of damage themselves but it's a fact that Giga's do more damage than a Rock Elemental so it just depends what you prefer really, Giga saddles are easier to find too so I'd just prefer to use a giga and I personally think they're easier to tame too :D
Andrewsarchus minigun isn't useless on PvE, some people on my server beat the Overseer with just a pair of em. Shit ton of ammo required though lmfao. As for the Fjordhawk, I've found them next to useless, but that's only because I'm not sticking to just Fjordur, I got Sinomacrops from Lost Island and with one of those, death is super rare for me. As well as them being able to bring you 1 wyvern egg is ok, but if you just grow some balls and kill the wyverns, you can just take all of them XD

I 100% agree with the Fjordhawk,I actually haven't even tamed one on my playthrough yet, every time i've got Wyvern eggs i've killed them with my Griffin or Desmodus or just flew off. I feel like alot of people benefit from them though which is why I added them in, I personally would have left them out and would rather have a Basilosaurus, Gacha or something else (which is more useful to me) replace it haha.

And it's actually crazy how useful the Lost Island tames are for Fjordur, not only Sinomacrops, but Amargasaurus makes Jotunheims cold a joke 🤣 and personally, I think Dinopithecus can easily be counted among the best caving tames available. But if I had to pick from what's available on Fjordur, Basilosaurus or Gacha is a good choice, but also, R-Thyla 💯

Maybe, it wasn't in the game at the time. Still unsure it would be more useful because you'll have to kill a bunch of stuff for blood rage, nothing really in the mini boss arenas to kill once you get to the boss.
You should be able to use the Kangaroo to boost the infant stage or however long they can stay in the pouch for at least and then use the Elixir when they're too big to use the pouch any more, would probably give the best of both worlds i'd like to think!

If there was a top 11/12 I would add them to it, I use them a lot! I personally would love to drop the Fjordhawk and Andrewsarchus from the list and add either a Griffin, Gacha or Theri, I don't really find the Fjordhawk as useful as the majority of people which is the only reason why I added it and once I reach mid-late game I find I don't really use the Andrewsarchus much but they are great beginner tames for anyone with all their abilities and how easy they are to tame! I'd definitely get a good bashing not adding the new creatures to a TOP 10 list though haha.
I'm pretty sure we can just ignore the Fenrir as I personally don't even think they're that good and you can't even tame them until you finish the final boss fight, can't even breed them after that either which really sucks!

I was so happy playing this map recently given they added the rock drake, 1 of my favorite dinos ever added

Andrewsarchus’s are super underrated for pvp. They are great at dashing bases with c4 strapped to the player inside while running at full speed

shadowmane are not the only natural armor mount, dire wolves for example
Direwolves don't have natural armour :D The Fenrir is the only other creature that does and it's locked behind the boss fight!

After getting a maewing i cant be bothered flying other tames because they feel so slow
I’d say Carca now replaces a Giga especially if you have a male and female

you don't need actually lol, any tamed dinos can get up to 75 lvl once you tame it. tame a lvl 145 and its gonna be a 220 unleveled once tamed..

I'm pretty sure we can just ignore the Fenrir as I personally don't even think they're that good and you can't even tame them until you finish the final boss fight, can't even breed them after that either which really sucks!

Yes the list is PVE based! I would agree it is far more useful for PVP purposes!
