thanks a ton for your great review; you answered most of my questions. Thank you again!
I love this Machine, So clean Classic.
is the SD Card slot flushed like the P1 Gen3 ?
Thanks for the video! It would be great if you could also do some gaming tests. I really like the P1 Gen 7, but I'm a little worried due to the low TGP of 60W and the low Vulcan Score.
This device only has one memory module - this is the first laptop that uses the new LPCAMM2 memory format, the new design meant to replace SO-DIMM. Different from SO-DIMM, LPCAMM2 uses more efficient Low Power (LP) memory.
Finally ive been looking for a review on this laptop
What is battery life like?
hey, do you recommend the p16 over the p1 a lot regarding fan noise? I just got my p1 and found the fans horrible & ~3-5x louder than the old X1E gen 2.
I am thinking about buying the P16 instead, would you recommend it regarding fans?
(I know you said so re the P1 gen 6 in another model).
To be honest, I think that the P16 makes like 10-15% less noise. P1 is thinner, so it has to make up for itself being thin
Hello super review ! Would be possible to do a review of the p14s intel ? There is whole new chassis and bigger screen. Seem to be the real descendant of the t14 and legit comparaison with the P1
Thank you for the kind words!
Regarding the new P14s - Hopefully I'll get the chance to a review for it. I've heard goods words about that device
Thanks so much for this video! I have a P7 headed my way here soon, and I'm excited to get it. Just curious, for gaming purposes, have you run any comparisons with the P1 G7 against the Legion product line? I wonder how this workstation would hold up. I'm assuming with the RTX 4060 or even 4070 (which mine will have) it should perform VERY well.
Thanks again!
Andy
Hey man, thank YOU for the kind words and congreats on purchasing the P1 Gen 7, wonderful device!
Regarding gaming - it's supposed to be the same or I might be crazy and say a little bit less than the Legion line. The Legion line is gaming oriented, beefy fans, beefy device, looking different.
I've felt like the P1G7 is doing great, I could do some gaming testings on it if you would like!
I had a gen 6 and it had lines on the display from the Touch overlay. Does the gen 7 have this issue too?
By touch you mean the touchpad? never happened to me on the P1 Gen 6, sometimes the keyboard but not the trackpad.
Anyways, it does not seem like it's going to have that kind of an issue, but only time will tell
Can you show tdp cpu and gpu ?
OMG, they eventually swap the Ctrl and Fn, my gen6 is painful when try to copy paste.
Who would've thought that they'll swap it!
Can a 65-watt USB-C charger be used to charge the laptop?
Is the thermal management and fan noise good?
It's actually ok!
With time it'll be even better, but now it's good as well.
@@longrhino Hi, why do you say that it will get better over time? Are you referring to future bios updates?
@@asterx_obelix653 That device is REALLY new to the market and it's not fully "updated" with the best drivers. Usually it takes up to 3 months for a new device to be fully stable
They use that trackpad again? The trackpad without the iconic 3 buttons
How is battery?
good question! :D
I ordered mine with the RTX2k GPU for battery reasons though I would've preferred to pay more to get the addtional cooling. I hope it's the right choice. Therefor I hope his battery life is not as good, comparatively :D

Why dont find P serie 2 in 1 ? Yoga is very good concept
Well, I guess that's for one reason - It's "too big and nobody would use it as yoga" haha!
Nice video and congrats for being the first to upload a review of the new P1 G7.
Btw, the RAM looks smaller because its a new type of RAM called "LPCAMM2", its like 50% smaller than DDR5 SODIMM. Sadly that its soldered.
No, it‘s not soldered. The P1 Gen 7 is the first laptop with the non-soldered LPCAMM2 (developed by Micron). So you now can replace/upgrade it like the good old SO-DIMMs.
@@octanevz @kristhinznr Thank you both for elaborating 🙏🙏
@@octanevz Ohhh I thought they were soldered :O
+1 for Lenovo for including this type of memory, hopefully they become a standard for the next generation of laptops, especially in the T, T/s and P/s series
This model is for business, so stability is much more important than cutting edge functions. I hope lenovo stop chinamizing P1 series. They can play with consumer models instead.
I think you are not getting full wifi performance because the router also has to be wifi 7.
You might be right, but the router was literally 1 meter a way from me, and seeing better performance on older types of wifi adapters just makes me feel like it's wrong. Driver updates surely are going to fix it - and if not, that's very sad.
Am I the only one that hates the new camera notch design 😩??? Hope the go back to old design soon.
Agree🖐🥺
ugly af, no idea why they decided to switch to this
How hot does it run? Does it get loud?
It's runs hot like a usual workstation, at about 70-80 Celsius degrees.
And it's not too loud, it's OK to live with even when it's on full speed.
@@longrhino are you certain? That is very hot.
It’s quiet when browsing with the 7 series chips. The Ultra 9 is louder.
try running macos sequoia on vmware workstation pro
darn no trackpoint click button?!!!!! wth Lenovo
I read that it works really really well despite the fact that it's not physical.
@@denistaran ive tried the older gen thinkpad with no nav button (the helix, t440), hated it.
Tell me about it, I was super bummed about that too. But it looks like the P14s Gen 5 still has the classic track point buttons.
