    Thanks for the video! It would be great if you could also do some gaming tests. I really like the P1 Gen 7, but I'm a little worried due to the low TGP of 60W and the low Vulcan Score.

    This device only has one memory module - this is the first laptop that uses the new LPCAMM2 memory format, the new design meant to replace SO-DIMM. Different from SO-DIMM, LPCAMM2 uses more efficient Low Power (LP) memory.

    hey, do you recommend the p16 over the p1 a lot regarding fan noise? I just got my p1 and found the fans horrible & ~3-5x louder than the old X1E gen 2.
    I am thinking about buying the P16 instead, would you recommend it regarding fans?
    (I know you said so re the P1 gen 6 in another model).

    • @longrhino
      @longrhino  4 дня назад +1

      To be honest, I think that the P16 makes like 10-15% less noise. P1 is thinner, so it has to make up for itself being thin

    Thanks so much for this video! I have a P7 headed my way here soon, and I'm excited to get it. Just curious, for gaming purposes, have you run any comparisons with the P1 G7 against the Legion product line? I wonder how this workstation would hold up. I'm assuming with the RTX 4060 or even 4070 (which mine will have) it should perform VERY well.
    Thanks again!

      Hey man, thank YOU for the kind words and congreats on purchasing the P1 Gen 7, wonderful device!
      Regarding gaming - it's supposed to be the same or I might be crazy and say a little bit less than the Legion line. The Legion line is gaming oriented, beefy fans, beefy device, looking different.
      I've felt like the P1G7 is doing great, I could do some gaming testings on it if you would like!

    • @longrhino

      By touch you mean the touchpad? never happened to me on the P1 Gen 6, sometimes the keyboard but not the trackpad.
      Anyways, it does not seem like it's going to have that kind of an issue, but only time will tell

    Nice video and congrats for being the first to upload a review of the new P1 G7.
    Btw, the RAM looks smaller because its a new type of RAM called "LPCAMM2", its like 50% smaller than DDR5 SODIMM. Sadly that its soldered.

    • @octanevz
      @octanevz 15 дней назад +4

      No, it‘s not soldered. The P1 Gen 7 is the first laptop with the non-soldered LPCAMM2 (developed by Micron). So you now can replace/upgrade it like the good old SO-DIMMs.

    I think you are not getting full wifi performance because the router also has to be wifi 7.

    • @longrhino
      @longrhino  14 дней назад

      You might be right, but the router was literally 1 meter a way from me, and seeing better performance on older types of wifi adapters just makes me feel like it's wrong. Driver updates surely are going to fix it - and if not, that's very sad.
