I’d recommend building a simple paint booth to curb dust for a better finish and maybe protect the environment. Overall turned out great. A review of the 1200/1600 would be fitting!
Totaly with you on this…. Coz a pait both dose not have to be the posh ones. It cam be a simple mabati room with concrete floors na muhimu ni ventilation,na lighting. And most important a fan kumove air around and for fumes and overspray
Erick what a video restoring a Dato 1200 ute (Datsun 1200 ute) in Australia these are becoming expensive as is a lot of old Japanese cars l am impressed by the work you do it different in Kenya are there lots of Datsun 1200 utes in Kenya realy enjoying your chanel
Initially when you mentioned the head lights are LED I got really bothered because the LED lights are really causing havoc on the highways my take is the yellowish glowing lights be mandatory on all cars and if you must use LED then let them be spotlights where one can use them on off roads.
Nice work.so Wokabi if you would now rate that car currently tentatively life span..and which modern car would you say can be compared with....am asking to know if restoration is worth it
Was fondly know as the "Datsun Debe". And featured in the local Rallies of the 80's (and even the Safari Rallies), by many aspiring local newcomers with the rally bug. Including the likes of Ian Duncan. 👍
I have noticed all along the doors do not close and line up with the door jam aperture and A-pillars....could it be the structural integrity of the car is compromised?
Remember, they cut out the floors of the car without welding a cross brace inside the car or the door aperture before doing it. I actually wrote this fact on the comments when they were doing it and now we see the results. The car being unibody means the floor is part of its structural rigidity its like removing the bottom of a carton box, the thing just folds up.
@@tomm487 ....exactly! Kwani the guy doing the welding was how careless / incompetent? This is a typical juakali charade they want to do it fast n make a coin but quality or structural integrity of the car is their least concern. If the doors cant shut now what of when it will be bearing a load on the highway? your guess is as good as mine
Well one thing I couldn't help noticing is the fitting to the driver side door is still not fitted correctly. Nani mwingine ameona isha toa rangi on the top left of the door
When Erick Wakabi and friends were painting the Volvo last year they used a paint booth and so many equipment's za kutisha..to encourage us car enthusiasts I went for the road side paint job and luckily it turned perfect....months down the line they painting like us proving that.....Skills and zeal for perfection outshines fancy equipment's (Don't get me wrong if you have the capacity go for the best equipment in town will make your work easier)

I can break it down item for item on our Monday night live
There others you need to throw away and buy others. Surely how is that restoration?
