I always enjoy your tutorials. you are quite beautiful. I am 70 years old and I always stay up and current on makeup and hair. I refuse to give in to old age.
Me too Paula! I'm 69 and I refuse to get the short fuzzy perm most of my friends have! I've always tried to keep up with the styles! I love velcro rollers, Just before my hair is dry I put them in and I get volume and style with no damage.
I'm joining both of you Paula Nilsson and Patricia Rose. I'm 62 and want to stay young..at heart anyway and most of the time I feel 18 until I look in the mirror! Lol. At least my grandchildren think I'm cool. 😀. I have finally just cut my hair just above my shoulders and absolutely love what I can do with it..but living in S. Fl. the humidity is horrible on the hair..the only I've found for that is Rusk Shining which seals the hair shafts. It's wonderful to run across other women that enjoy keeping up with what's current. Have a wonderful week ladies!
Me too ladies!! I will be 69 next week and also love staying up with the latest trends as best I can. I'm with Susan on the feeling young until I look in the mirror! Lol. So makeup, skincare and hair are very important to me.
5:41 Thank you for explaining why you roll the first 2 rollers forward. I always thought the 2nd roller should get rolled back, so when i tried it your way, viola! It was the prettiest my hair has ever laid on top. You know more, and explain it better, than any hairdresser I’ve had! Thank you again.
Martha Chavez Big Sexy Hair makes a product called “Powder Play”, which is similar to the Aveda product in the video. It not only gives volume, but also texture.
Yay! So glad you did a video on this. This is how I've been doing my hair since the late 90s. I hate to blow my hair out the proper way (brushing while blowing) so I just rough dry it, put it up in the velcro rollers (hairspraying each section before rolling), do my makeup, get dressed and 30 minutes later, take the rollers out and voila! Instant volume! Then I can flat iron the ends or add some curl with the iron or just leave it as is. Usually I just brush through it once and spray in some hair wax for texture, shine and a little hold. So much healthier for my hair than heat styling and back combing!
I enjoyed this video. A retired hairdresser for 45 years I started using all kind of rollers in the 60’s.i use the Velcro rollers to straighten my curly hair. When you roll the hair up straight and down on the base it’s called no stem rollers. Take care and keep up the good videos. It’s fun to see how hairstyling uses old techno’s. sherryBassett from Wi.
I’ve done something similar right after I dry my hair and it is still warm/slightly damp. It is amazing how well it smooths down the hair while giving volume. I will try it with a few different tips of yours as well. Thank you!
I watched a video earlier using Velcro curlers but someone else was doing the rolling. While it was still informative, seeing you do them "yourself" is much more helpful. It's harder to roll your own & I liked seeing you deal with it. Glad I found your channel. I've only just recently delved into these rollers.
My friend who’s got thick and heavy hair can never get a “ poof” to her hair ..so ,we discussed it tonight. I suggested she get dry shampoo to start ,then I start going through the videos ending up with yours, which was by far the best: you rock you rock you rock!
That's a great tip about running your hair through a flat iron before putting it in curlers. I've never heard of that before but it's a great idea. I bought a set of those big curlers a few months ago mainly because I wanted to get some volume without curls. I've been growing my hair out, it's below shoulder length now so this is a great tip for me. Thanks! Towards the end of the video, that Aveda product! I need it.
My hair is exactly like yours meaning it's fine. I usually have to use hot rollers for volume. I have used the hair grip powder and it makes a HUGE difference when you have fine hair. This is amazing for volume with any hair type, but especially for people with that baby fine hair. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to more hair videos.
You would cry if you saw me style my hair. I am going to try your methods altho I am just a nightmare trying to style my own hair. I really appreciate the fact that you incorporate other methods from other tutorials, so I don't have to go back and forth on how to do things. I also have fine hair and mine is very curly. I sometimes let my hair air dry and do the curly thing. Love your tutorials!
Love this!! I was just wondering how to get hot roller results without the damages of the hot rollers, this is perfect! Will definitely try it! Thank you!
I've used the 3" velcro rollers for years with my fine wavy hair. I've used this method before but it doesn't seem to work as well for me as using them as I blow dry my hair. I rough dry then I use the Aveda volumizing tonic, some thermal protectant spray and my 3.5" Olivia Garden round brush. As I dry each section & the hair is still warm I then wrap that section around a roller. By the end I'm all wrapped in big rollers then I move on to my makeup & let them sit. When I finally take them out I have a ton of all day volume. I'd love to see what crazy volume you'd get with that method!
I agree with Paula, you are very much a beauty.... im 66 and wish we had all these cool tools when i was younger and had long beautiful hair haha. I slept with juice cans in my hair and a bonnet hairdryer on all night. Funny huh?? NOt really .... and we actually used a real iron to straighten our hair. Good Lord.... I too refuse to want to look old. My hair is still somewhat good except for all of the hair that has fallen out and is not coming back. Not fair i tell you.
I blame you... ...for helping me take my hair game up a notch!!! 😊👍❤ ...now all the hair products that were sitting around are now being used! Thank You!!! ❤
I am the same as the other lady’s I refuse to give in to age I am 71 and still got very good hair shoulder length but I don’t like it flat like volume you give very good advice thank you and you are a very beautiful young lady
Thank you for the dry shampoo tip! I have very thin, flat, oily hair and this is a game changer to use the dry shampoo the day I shampoo instead of later! Thank you!!
I always say this, but I LOVE your hair! Thank you for all the great tutorials! xoxo OH also, what is your favorite leave in conditioner for dry, damaged, color treated hair?
You inspired me to cut my hair off yesterday and I absolutely love it. Just ordered all the products on this tutorial and cannot wait to try it. Thank you thank you thank you!
Love your tutorials, you are so helpful! I have long blonde hair past my shoulders and I’ve been using Velcro rollers for a Very long time, lol, mine just aren’t quite as wide as yours but they do work! I’m 68 years old and people are so surprised when they learn my age. I guess I’m supposed to roll over and play dead since I’m so old, but that’s never going to happen, lol. I’ve been blessed with great skin and hair so I’m staying as young as I can! Keep your videos coming, they’re great! xoxo. Randi
I, like your mom, have been using giant velcro rollers since forever!! I can't do my hair without them..SO easy!! Thx for the tutorial...your hair looks great!
Great tip to use dry shampoo right after washing...with my fine oily hair, it IS a game changer. wow love that powder thickener at the end, never knew about that! Thanks, and great tutorial, love your cute sense of humor!
You have the best hair ever!!! I would seriously drive to you or your salon to have my hair highlighted and styled! I can never find a good beautition! ❤ Much love from Arkansas!
Wow-your hair is in super good condition. Thanks for linking the products you use-btw, you are very pretty and are a natural in front of the camera-Cheers!
good video . . appreciate what the viewer 70 years old said . . I stay current on hair and makeup . . I'm still a just being female wanting to look good . . and agree you are very beautiful!
so lucky to find ur channel. ther are so many channels but u the MASTER of all. I feel like i m sitting in a saloon and my hair dresser is showing me step by step. love love love 💕watched your all videos from the start and learned a lot.
This video in particular is so on point. I hope you realize that you are giving all is ladies a lot of confidence with these game changer hair technics. I watch all your RUclips videos but I never hear you talking about hair protectant. Could you do a video and incorporate the same ideas as you always do...but add your heat protectant routine when you are applying heat to DRY hair - especially second day here. PLEASE!!!
this is way cool I really like the Simplicity I was a little fuzzy in believing about the powder but looks like Sahara turned out okay with the powder.... I still wonder if the powder causes the hair to get dirty faster
i l have been using velcro rollers for years. After l shampoo i apply a bit of Living Proof thickening hair cream and a tiny bit of One and Only Argan Moulding paste. i blow dry just partially in all directions. Then set with the velcro rollers for 3 hours and my hair lasts all week. I also sleep on silky pillow cases to help keep the style
I love your videos ! Your hair is beautiful and the color is perfect. I also am a hairdresser as well and have very similar hairstyling techniques and love learning from others new techniques, thank you!
I have literally watched hundreds of hair tutorials and yours by FAR are the BEST! This is my very first time commenting on RUclips. Thanks so much you rock! p.s. you are absolutely beautiful as well!
Love your videos. I have learned sooooo much! I have fine hair but a lot of it and never know what to do with it. Everything makes it limp quickly but I am excited to try the products you use. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
I love your hair !I have a lot of hair and no problems with big hair ,I am an 80s chick lol but I’ve learned a lot watching your videos and send them to my hairdresser.Im letting my hair grow out to get your look 💇🏼♀️
You have a great gift for teaching! You make it plain & simple for your viewers! Thank you for sharing your tips & explaining why you do it!❤Happy Thanksgiving! Thankful for these videos.
Really good video!!! I am surprised you said very little product...it seemed like a lot but I'm new to using styling products so I probably don't know...thanks for info you share..much appreciated.
Thank you Harmony Thanks to you I finally decided to try some of AVEDA products and I love it ! Aveda Pure Abundance turns from powder to liquid like form it gives awesome volume . Air Control hairspray works amazing as well . I also got some free samples products from AVEDA . Thank you Harmony .
First of all, you're beautiful! Secondly, you've got a great cut and color. All so important to getting good results:) I don't think women consider rollers much these days, but I can't wait to try thus myself- I've been unhappy with how flat my hair is at the crown and I'm sure this will solve that. Thanks for sharing!
I was going bald w vector rollers ! Use smooth plastic clip on rollers instead from dollar store. U can also warm your hair w hot air styler less damaging easier to use.
I did that too!!!!! I learned after that I was using ones too small for how long my hair was, you have to use a bigger size for your hair length. It was 11 at night & I realized they wouldn’t come out & had to call my little sister & her boyfriend to drive to my house & help me get them out!!!😂😂
I hope the thumbs down did NOT show up?! .. absolutely did NOT mean to do that! Am really loving the eye makeup also.. noticed others are asking for a tutorial..👍
OMG i forgot to tell you all what i do at night when i go to bed. My hair is the same length as yours, but i noticed the top layer in the back seems to take the most damage while sleeping. So i pull up the top section, about half way down head, bend over and brush down then swirl it around into a small bun and use a couple pins to hold. When i take it down its surprising how full it is.
I was so excited to see this video! I have relatively fine hair, but tons of it. I live and die by my Velcro rollers to get some volume at the crown. I’ll be tweaking my technique a bit based on your tips! Have a happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🍁
You are gorgeous!! Great tutorial. I still use Velcro rollers and I love them I usually hit them with the hair dryer hot then before I take them out I hit them with cold.
Er my gourd! (it's still fall ya'll) I reach for my Velcro rollers all the time! So glad you endorse! Mine used to be blue like yours, now they are brunette. Ha! So love your content, you are such a doll baby! : )
I have a lot of static this time of year. The more I try to fix it the worst it gets. Do you have any tips or products that would help without weighing down hair. Enjoy all your videos.
Sue proffitt run a dryer sheet over ur hair ... also static means ur hair needs more moisture ... try adding Moroccan oil to ur routine ....(ps I’m a hairstylist 😜)
OMG, me too, the static is crazy. I just got off of a long 20+ hour plane flight from Washington, DC to Singapore and it looks like I stuck my finger in an electrical socket b/c my hair was sticking straight out. I'd love some tips on how to tape the static without having to carry a bunch of dryer sheets around.
Maria Santos, Sue proffitt - “Static Guard” - spray right on your hair or spray on your brush in between each comb thru. They make small TSA approved bottles also. It works great for me! 😊
I always enjoy your tutorials. you are quite beautiful. I am 70 years old and I always stay up and current on makeup and hair. I refuse to give in to old age.

Your mom is smart. I’m 74 with very thin hair. The Velcro rollers give me great volume without stressing my thin hair
I never knew there was such a thing as hair powder to volumize and give texture to the hair.....I learned something new.
You can use ordinary talcum powder, it's the same thing.my mother use to do this in an emergency.
Maria Lopez yes I use baby powder when I run out of dry shampoo haha
Martha Chavez Big Sexy Hair makes a product called “Powder Play”, which is similar to the Aveda product in the video. It not only gives volume, but also texture.

Outstanding job using rollers. You explained the techniques precisely and professionally...going to follow all your tutorials..
My favorite volume technique. 👌 I’ve been using this since “The Rachel cut!” ☺️
I’ve done something similar right after I dry my hair and it is still warm/slightly damp. It is amazing how well it smooths down the hair while giving volume. I will try it with a few different tips of yours as well. Thank you!
Anyone between the ages of 13-40 in the 80s should not have a problem with backcombing. I'm 45 and still love some good "rattage" for volume!
I watched a video earlier using Velcro curlers but someone else was doing the rolling. While it was still informative, seeing you do them "yourself" is much more helpful. It's harder to roll your own & I liked seeing you deal with it. Glad I found your channel. I've only just recently delved into these rollers.

Omg!!! I love big hair . I can’t seem to get my hair like yours!
I'm back following your professional experience in adding volume to my hair. You are the best

You really do not need to use flat iron if you just spray with hair spray and let set for 20 30 minutes
I've used the 3" velcro rollers for years with my fine wavy hair. I've used this method before but it doesn't seem to work as well for me as using them as I blow dry my hair. I need the small size rollers 😊
First of all, you're beautiful! Secondly, you've got a great cut and color. All so important to getting good results:) I don't think women consider rollers much these days, but I can't wait to try thus myself- I've been unhappy with how flat my hair is at the crown and I'm sure this will solve that. Got to buy some of those rollers. Great video.
Your AWESOME to watch!! You really make it LOOK SO EASY😍
I was going bald w vector rollers ! Use smooth plastic clip on rollers instead from dollar store. U can also warm your hair w hot air styler less damaging easier to use.
absolutely adorable...love your hair, tutorial, and your giggle...so darling!
Haha! Thank you!!
What is your root shadow color? Mine always comes out warm. Yours is perfect.
You have saved my hair life once again!! Thank you! 💕
I wish I could use Velcro rollers, the one time I used them they wouldn't come out, and I ripped my hair out to unroll them...
Anishinaabe Kwe You could use end papers to protect the ends , and stop that , get at Sally's beauty supplie🌷
I did that too!!!!! I learned after that I was using ones too small for how long my hair was, you have to use a bigger size for your hair length. It was 11 at night & I realized they wouldn’t come out & had to call my little sister & her boyfriend to drive to my house & help me get them out!!!😂😂
YOU are the goddess of hair & makeup. ( Surely you know this!) I’m not worthy! I’m not worthy! Bows lower…. I’m not worthy! I’m not worthy! ♥️🙏🏻🙋♀️
Great tutorial! Love your makeup in this video!!
I hope the thumbs down did NOT show up?! .. absolutely did NOT mean to do that! Am really loving the eye makeup also.. noticed others are asking for a tutorial..👍
I have Velcro rollers they work well glad you use them
OMG i forgot to tell you all what i do at night when i go to bed. My hair is the same length as yours, but i noticed the top layer in the back seems to take the most damage while sleeping. Love your channel and your hair! This question has to do with your color. Do you only color and high lite or do you also use a toner?
linda de vore- I'd like to know as well..seems it's tough getting a reply🤔
Your hair tutorials are my favorite!!
Haha, thank you! And thanks for watching!
I use velcro rollers...great tip with the hot flatiron first....tku
Beautiful hair, just watch out for the dry shampoo.. I've heard some bad news about that drying up the hair follicles and people going bald?
You are gorgeous!! Great tutorial. I still use Velcro rollers and I love them I usually hit them with the hair dryer hot then before I take them out I hit them with cold.
Thank you! And thanks for watching!

“Static Guard” - spray right on your hair or spray on your brush in between each comb thru. They make small TSA approved bottles also. It works great for me! 😊
@@stellamarlena6427 tx for the tip of TSA approved bottles, wonder if they have them in South Africa

I don’t know if you’ve got www.amazon.com if so, they do sell them online there. Good luck! 😊
You are such a beautiful woman, but it's funny to see you with the velcro rollers in place! I love your channel!!
