Community notes is a fantastic business strategy. You don't have to pay fact checker groups. You no longer have accusation of bias or impropriety. It drives up engagement and time spent on site, as people search for things to check, then check, and fight over checks. It's genius, you get your customers addicted to the standard loop, instead of milking negative emotions through replies, you give them limited power and authority to "correct" the narrative.
It's the fighting over checks that is the problem. Because people who believe truth is a lie will be flagging everything they can and everyone else will need to counter it. This is why independent groups doing this is much better, people can leave their tinfoil at the door - these groups are not DEI WEF employees.
Oh, you're definitely gonna find out what the people are gonna do with that power. It's as if centuries of literature haven't told you what's going to happen. XD

The bible doesn’t actually specifically say that the earth is 6000 years old, nor does it allude to how long the earth has been around. I don’t know why people keep bringing this point up like it’s factually correct. I’m not even a Christian and it annoys me because I believed it at first after hearing then decided to look into it. Nowhere in the Bible does it State, imply, mention, allude to the timeframe of the earth!
Well, technically speaking, Jesus has his entire line of fathers stated all the way to Adam so you can figure out the time frame. Not that it's accurate, but at least this number has reasonable origin. Antediluvian (pre Flood) characters in the Bible have a ridiculous spread when it comes to lifespans - it's from normal to few hundred years - so that 6000 years figure is just a drop of truth in an ocean of lies. I think only Jehovah's Witnesses would disagree with the above but they are nuts in general.
It's based on taking the ages of everyone in the bible and forming it together. Only the strictest biblical literalists take it seriously. I personally don't know anyone that thinks the earth is only 6000 years old.

@8:18 asmon, my mother and ny wife are from the Philippines. My wifes uncle atebdog until recently and my moms brother regulalrly ate sparrows as a kid that he killed with slingshots because the family went broke due to illness. While they dont do it today if you import 10 to 20 million third worlders, there will be some that still have a taste for cats, dogs, and wild birds as they are all regularly eaten in the third world.
Western countries don't like what others eat because they see it differently when it comes to certain species. Meanwhile other countries don't eat what you do and everyone wonders why they do it. Find anyone living in remote areas being picky about food. Birds, wild dogs, etc. You name it, you leave your morals at the door and have to make a choice. The same goes for others in places too POOR to be able to afford what you consider "ethical". This is the nonsense that fuels idiots and their ignorance. Might as well complain at the sharks mistaking humans for their "actual food" while you are at it. Pretty sure if I had a choice between something not made to swim and others that are, I'm taking the easier one.

To Asmon's first point, religious fact isn't misinformation because the information pertains to what that religion believes, not to what reality is. In that case, misinformation would be to to misrepresent what that religion believes. In that regard, traditional misinformation is the same. Wherein the information misrepresents what science, politics or institutions have official beliefs in.
Absolutely wrong. Christian's don't think Jesus was the twice risen Messiah? They just think "that's what the religion believes"? LOL tell that to any Christian. No. Absolutely wrong. Religions are absolutely making truth claims about reality and the suggestion that they're not would be extremely offensive to anyone who takes their religion seriously. I struggle to understand what you even mean by the sentence "religious fact isn't misinformation because the information pertains to what that religion believes".
Religions are absolutely making truth claims about reality and not just about "what the religion believes". You think Muslims don't think Allah is "really god in reality", they just think he's "god according to islam"? Go tell them that. See how it turns out. You're extremely confused.
there's also a difference between not being able to prove something true and proving it false. we've proved that the flood did happen, we haven't proved it's god or that the ark existed, but likewise we also haven't proved the opposite. this is actually a part of the problem fact checkers had. they would lead the narrative towards something leaning towards being true or false based on their person political leaning whenever things were not quite definitively true or false.

0:30 Jesus was a historical dude. There’s a bunch of documentation that confirm he was born and crucified. Both believers and non/believers of the time note his miracles. Asmon has explained this before, but by saying it's a "small issue", he isn't talking about the importance of the issue, he means how many people are actually involved with it. There are only a handful of mtf athletes, this effects them and the people involved with the sports they are trying to encroach on, and in a way the people who watch those sports. But altogether that is a way less pressing issue for the everyday American than, say, the housing market, grocery prices or climate change. These are issues that effect a greater number of people, and are therefore "bigger issues".
@Glaive1771 I agree that is what Asmon thinks, but it doesn't mean he is right. It's not something that happened over night or over days and weeks, it would have been barely perceptible during one human lifetime.
@xKinjax no quite. There is signs that a flood came on suddenly. While yes glacial melting was occurring there was something else that might have occurred. There is a range of possibilities from meteor/comet strike, sun actively, and there are the way out there ones. You can come across, such as, nibiriu.... yeah that theory exists but no hard evidence other than a guys mistranslation of ancient texts.
@xKinjax hmm seems my response was deleted. Thanks, youtube censors. Anyway, kind of. The glacial melting was occurring. There are signs that a massive rapid flooding did occur around the time period I mentioned. There are several theories as to why from the fantastical to more possible.
@@camarofan2008 There was never a massive global flood that covered the entire Earth. Those "flood myths" are the result of large local floods. There's too many similarities between the two stories to ignore it.

Asmon has explained this before, but by saying it's a "small issue", he isn't talking about the importance of the issue, he means how many people are actually involved with it. @davidpelaez7176 that's now that work. You can definitely disprove a 4 line triangle but actually demonstrate the impossibility. You just saying that "God doesn't exist because i said so". There are a few inconsistancies in UpperEchelon 's video:
1. Jordan's last campaign contribution was on 27 Dec 2018 and hasn't contributed since.
2. Jordan's linkedin stated he was a video producer from Dec 2016 - Apr 2019.
3. Jordan only became an operations editor from Apr 2019 to Apr 2021 and waybackmachine from Oct 2021 shows he was part of the editorial team.
4. Snopes editorial board never consisted of any video producers so Jordan was never part of the editorial team during his campaign contributions.
5. Justin is the Chief Revenue Officer of Snopes which is not part of the editorial board at all.
6. Anna last campaign contribution was on 11 Oct 2020.
7. Anna was working at Annual reviews till Feb 2022.
8. Anna only started working at Snopes from Feb 2024 meaning she did not make any contributions to any political party during her time at snopes.
UpperEchelon made it seem like this was all a big deal but nothing he dug out so far indicated that Snopes had done any impropriety in terms of fact checking. Like, even that founder guy was removed from his duties when it was discovered he plagiarized news articles about mundane shit, not fact checking articles. I don't understand how with all the stuff UpperEchelon uncovered people could still say ""Snopes is very clearly biased" when there hasn't been a single instance in the video that shows that.

@@muke392 It is though, I had a discussion a while back about the coastal erosion and rising sea levels and the person I was talking to said it's because the ice is melting, I said there is no evidence of this and he flipped out. I asked him to explain the water displacement of the metric tonnage of ocean going vessels then as that is what I believe is the cause for the rising sea levels over the last five decades. He said I had no proof, then I showed him the various sources from the insurance industry to ship manufacturing that states there has been something like a 600% increase in vessels being used internationally and how each one displaces a volume of water. He kept saying it's the ice shelfs melting even though the science says it only accounts for something like 7-10% of the sea levels rising over the same time frame.

that's just an excuse the catholic church came up with to avoid losing relevancy when science proved none of those stories were physically possible.
