Honestly after the state of AC Valhalla at launch, I have been completely soured on Ubisoft...I played like 50 hours of that game and got my save file hard locked so that I couldn't progress...Not to mention the 6 or 7 broken side quests that I couldn't complete because they were bugged...Plus there were many other visual and gameplay bugs and glitches...After several months they said they had most of the bugs and stuff fixed, so I figured I would try it again because I had already spent the money and I wanted to see the end of the game...I got halfway through the game again and a main event that happens in the game bugged out and wouldn't trigger so my save file got hard locked again! I swore that I wouldn't give them another dime of my money after that...I'm a pretty laid back person and I have a high tolerance for jank in games, but there is just no excuse for this kind of thing...They wouldn't even supply me with a save file or fix mine so that I could progress the game...Needless to say, I will not be buying AC Shadows, and it will take quite a bit of good will from Ubisoft to make me come back...
@RenegadeVash I played it on a powerful PC like 2 years after it launched so it wasn't that horrible for me...Honestly I have a pretty high tolerance for jank, and visual glitches as long as it's a good game, but I have only played a few games that were so bad that I was just unable to progress halfway through...Thats where I draw the line...I even gave them another chance after it happened the first time and they said they fixed it...I have had my eyes opened though! lol

The other thing that is amazing from the investor call regarding shadows, is that journalists, content creators and others from the community will get their hands on the game at the studio starting next week. Which hopefully means that the marketing ramps up!
It’s definitely the best thing for the game to delay - it would have been crazy to launch in the same month as KDC2, Avowed & Monster Hunter etc. March will be a less competitive month & also gives them more time to polish.

Rather have a delayed game than a bad unpolished game. And as we've seen from the recent gameplay articles, delaying was the best thing they did. Made me more hyped with every new footage they showed. We can wait. No biggie.
@@ImPerpl3xd lmao lets not compare S&B with the AC franchise. Dont be disingenuous. Also, we have recent footage of Shadows. And it looks really good compared to the first trailers.
Over time I have been slowly getting more and more interested in the game. Still hesitate to say it'd be a day one purchase, but for me it will all depend on what else if anything they show before release. Just the work in progress footage here alone looked quality to me.
I’ll buy it when the complete edition is $10, or when Ubisoft crashes. I want to see how much of a trainwreck it is, but I don’t want to support Ubisoft.
If you're really interested, never buy a Ubisoft game on day 1 either way. Their games go on deep discounts very often. Wait a few months and pick it up on 50% off or something.
I mean, nobody is stopping you from buying day one. Do that, its your money. Just don't go crawling back on the internet butt hurt if it turns out to be objectively crude and unfinished. Nothing is equally stopping u from just waiting 24 hours for a RUclips rev.
I mean… okay? Even if the game is godawful, people will buy it. It is assassin's creed. Now, will it be enough people to offset their costs? That is another story. But I firmly believe that there are still a ton of casual players who do not follow the industry news and love assassin's creed. There will be plenty of sales by normal game standards. No idea if that will be enough for Ubisoft. I personally despise Ubisoft's business practices, and I dislike their games. I want a huge shake up at that company. If that takes games failing, then that is what I want. Of course, I'd be thrilled for the company pulling it's collective heads out of it's ass, but I have no real faith that would EVER happen. The sooner Ubisoft breaks, the quicker they can be rebuilt into something else. Even if that thing turns out to be just as bad, the industry didn't really lose anything did it?
Its preorders were 7% of what Valhallas were. The backlash has been IMMENSE. If they didn’t think the game could possibly fail. They wouldn’t have delayed it.
It's good that they're postponing it again (but not too much anyway), if the teams need these few extra weeks it's for the good of the game AND the players. Better for it to be delayed than buggy to the bone. What Marc-Alexis Côté says is very encouraging, Ubisoft is listening to feedback and it's a very nice step forward. Journalists and influencers will be able to play Shadows next week, this is very good news and it will give Ubisoft time to improve (without crunch), so this postponement is good news and it's a good strategy in the end
@@Johnny_JDNothing racist about being against cultural appropriation. Ubisoft propping up a literal nobody and making him out to be one of Japans greatest heros? Just because of his skin color? That’s racist.

I know I've always wanted a true assassins creed game based in feudal japan. the setting is just begging for it, and I'm sure other folks have too.

Well except for them being sick. Wish them a fast recovery.
So if this tanks the Guillemont's are out? So now I'm motivated to see it tank.
No, they are trying to increase their holding to take the company private again
Yay. KCD2 will get all the attention it deserves now.
Not being mean but it took until Vahalla to realize Ubisoft is terrible at optimization.
Unity was historic meme fest
@RenegadeVash I played it on a powerful PC like 2 years after it launched so it wasn't that horrible for me...Honestly I have a pretty high tolerance for jank, and visual glitches as long as it's a good game, but I have only played a few games that were so bad that I was just unable to progress halfway through...Thats where I draw the line...I even gave them another chance after it happened the first time and they said they fixed it...I have had my eyes opened though! lol
@brucepreston3927 It would be better to just count your losses and we can agree that it's the poor work of Ubisoft. You're correct, they
I played it on release on console & ran into 0 issues. Sorry for your troubles tho
yeah id bet its KCD2. they had their date established. idk why AC2 was gonna launch at the same time. I even saw that as a problem months ago. How did they not?
I don’t root for people failing in general, but watching Ubisoft crash and burn has been satisfying
Watching as thousands of people’s jobs and livelihoods are basically dangled in front of us by the executives is not satisfying you’re sick.
@ yeah man, this isn’t Twitter. You can’t say some pseudo virtue-filled nonsense nobody believes in and get likes. If a product isn’t made for you, you don’t purchase it. And me rooting for Ubisoft’s complete fall is done with the hopes that better games come out of it in the future
@@sol5916 but it factually won’t happen, Ubisoft burning is just Tencent taking over which is arguably wayyyy worse than Ubisoft in the sense that it has absolutely nothing to loose while Being more aggressive with micro transactions
@ I honestly doubt it. Koreans have no limit to greed, but the Chinese have been doing better on the consumer-friendly front lately. Even games they own majority shares in are doing well. You got League of Legends and Path of Exile for example. They’re also heavy into Fortnite, Baldur’s Gate 3, Elden Ring, etc. I’d say that’s a portfolio that puts Ubisoft to shame
@@sol5916 companies are not people...
The developers must feel special, to be working on Ubisoft’s last ever game.
Looks like a good place to talk about Ubisoft, hope everyone gets better soon
It's crazy how much I can relate to the first half of this video, I get crazy if I don't have any videos games to hear stuff about or talk about, I've been going crazy just not having Luke Stephen's talking about it! Daily in my feed!
Wait. No way March 20th is the day they picked. God they are clueless about historical events in Japan.
Is everyone just forgetting that monster hunter Wilds is happening on Feb 28??!
I'm not. Test played it at PAX. Waited in line 4 hours to play for 20 minutes. Worth it.
6:30 jesus. 2025 came in like a wrecking ball. fires, firings and meltdowns.
Babe wake up, Luke just dropped
Between me and my room mate, we have zero interest in AC shadows. Instead we will be playing "the first berserker" and I will be playing Xenoblade X Remaster. That's at least in terms of march releases cause I know my room mate will be glued to monster hunter when it releases.
I am from Asia. While it might be true that the quality of the game could be quite good, but I really think Luke has underestimated how much Ubisoft has pissed off people in Asia in general, not just Japanese. We honestly felt humiliated and insulted to a point that we won’t buy it no matter how good it turned out. And it’s gonna have to eat in the sales by a lot. Its too late to change anything meaningful
Stop watching outrage bait and your life will be better immediately. Just block every outrage RUclipsr
@@kimberly4275you’re part of the problem, toxic positivity is worse because it sets the product up to fail. And blocking those creators won’t make them any less correct. :)
Do you realise how enormous Asia is, white boy? I live in Asia, and everyone I know doesn't care about this game.
@@LP_-hn6jf exactly 😭🙏🏿
I can’t really get lost in an AC game that has a character so entirely out of place for NO REASON. It completely breaks immersion and to pretend that it’s normal is ridiculous. They can’t fix how bad of a decision that was. I’ll just reply Ghost of Tsushima.
1:10 Going stir crazy in the Bahamas coming from a Colorado winter is wild 😂
The other thing that is amazing from the investor call regarding shadows, is that journalists, content creators and others from the community will get their hands on the game at the studio starting next week. Which hopefully means that the marketing ramps up!
You can feel Luke is really ready to come back home 😂 Waiting for you Luke! Looking forward to the first live stream of 2025!
hey Luke what did you use for that background those graphics are so real
It’s definitely the best thing for the game to delay - it would have been crazy to launch in the same month as KDC2, Avowed & Monster Hunter etc. March will be a less competitive month & also gives them more time to polish.
Oh man! Hope your family recovers ok! Sickness is definitely no fun! Especially on vacation. :(
Very much missing your daily streams, but happy to see you getting some much needed rest! Happy New Year!
Wife watching from bungalow window as his husband paces around a beach, ranting about about Ubisoft.
Hey man happy New Year hope you and your family are okay haven't caught any of your streams in a while
Hope your family feels better soon, Sir.
Happy you can take a break from games for a bit. It might make you feel home sick (or game sick), but a break just makes you that much more refreshed and ready to go when you return all sunburnt and fatigued
Yes I’m sure it was to get away from KCD 2 and not the sequel to the best selling capcom game of all time lol. Game sold 20+ million copies. Think it’s really smart to move to a time period with no competition and an extra month can’t hurt.
This is now the bar for all your backgrounds. Good luck with that 😁
March 20th is my birthday.. what a great gift this will be....
Sorry vacation went a bit sideways on you with the good old Noro, stay well mate
Looks like someone at Ubisoft finally realized how stacked and competitive February was going to be this year with all the games coming out that month.
You can take the nerd to the Bahamas but you can’t make him stop talking about video games
You are right,I been waiting for KCD2 for 7 years. So at the pace I play it will last me around 300- 400 hours the 1st playthrough. So Even though I want to play Shadows too,is obvious I choose my favourite game of all times over ACS,and probably jump on a second playthrough sttaight away. Thanks for your honrsty,as always !
Rather have a delayed game than a bad unpolished game. And as we've seen from the recent gameplay articles, delaying was the best thing they did. Made me more hyped with every new footage they showed. We can wait. No biggie.
It’ll be both don’t worry lol
@EricLarsen-dc9tf nah. It wont. Not after the recent footage we've seen. You can keep hating tho. Not like it holds any weight whatsoever.
Man I’m sorry but at this point the “I’d rather have a delayed game” line is so cliche lol. That was the mantra for Skull and Bones.
@@ImPerpl3xd lmao lets not compare S&B with the AC franchise. Dont be disingenuous.
Also, we have recent footage of Shadows. And it looks really good compared to the first trailers.
@ImPerpl3xd he's just coping but whatever happens, it will be legendary. Imagine the game doesn't flop and ubi makes a comeback???😆
My first thought was "get off your phone and enjoy that nice beach" only to remember that I am watching this on a beach in Australia
Over time I have been slowly getting more and more interested in the game. Still hesitate to say it'd be a day one purchase, but for me it will all depend on what else if anything they show before release. Just the work in progress footage here alone looked quality to me.
Next week, a bunch of creators will be getting previews. We’ll probably see their videos on the 20th
It’s the opposite for me. The more I know about this game, the more I want to stay away
It’s by a month right like that’s really just them going either “ehh we shouldn’t drop right next to monster Hunter” or “eh maybe let’s get a couple more weeks to make sure things are working the way they are supposed to” or both, I don’t see how this is bad it’s not like I got delayed by a year 😂
Hope your family gets better soon Luke!
I hope with this… another delay, the game actually turns out good. If not, it’s over for Ubisoft and possibly other AC games. and where is AC Jade? 🤔
Pre orders are that low. That's why ubisoft is delaying it,praying for pre orders to go up some more.
4:15 All good. Only other game I was concerned about in March was Killing Floor 3. 😂
This was one the coolest videos of yours😂🔥
So how many sales are needed to cover another delayed release
I was already gonna preorder it for November, this is only good news, gives me more time to finish avatar and I still have outlaws to buy on cdkeys
Still rolling my eyes at Yasuke
racist
… Kay 😂
@@Johnny_JDNothing racist about being against cultural appropriation.
Ubisoft propping up a literal nobody and making him out to be one of Japans greatest heros? Just because of his skin color? That’s racist.
@@frenchfriedbagel7035 exactly
@@frenchfriedbagel7035 Yasuke is a character from Japanese folklore 😭 wtf do you mean "cultural appropriation" 😂😂
As someone who is married to a Bahamian woman, and has been close to her family for decades, I can completely confirm that Bahamians do, in fact, love video games.
Is it just me, or does Yasuke look way more detailed compared to Naoe. She looks almost like a NPC.
Ubisoft does not like woman, huh?
Because he got more uniqueness to him. Beard, dreads and a manly face. Feels like he got way more details.
I totally agree. As someone who’s played almost every game since like 2012, with Monster Hunter coming out so shortly after, I was even shakey on picking it up right away. Good decision.
Luke is literally inside AC Black Flag, pretty cool
Oh man! We got the norovirus just after Christmas and it sucked. Really sucks it happened in your vacay. Get well
Don't worry... AC die hard fans WILL STILL buy this game no matter what.... 😅
February is a crazy month. KCD 2, Civ 7, Avowed, Monster Hunter Wilds, Like a Dragon Hawaii
I think Ubisoft is covering every possible angle when it comes to shadows release, trying to give the game the best possible chance at success because they know it's gonna be very decisive for them and it's gonna have a tough launch...
Do you hate Ubi: yes
Do you want they to shut down : hell no
Hate is kind of a strong word. Think about it, do you really hate them? Do you want to be solely responsible for their utter destruction or do you just wish they made better games? One of these things is not like the other. But that could just be me being a bit of a word nut. I truly believe we'd be a healthier, happier society if we didn't go right to the top shelf with our words.
@andrewcoehoorn6505 OK
English is not my first language
Can you suggest a better work
@adityajain6733 No worries my friend. Most native English speakers don't consider what the word hate really means. Hate is the nuclear option. I wish Ubi made better games is all it deservers.
@andrewcoehoorn6505 yes bro Ubi was my childhood dev and my first AAA was AC
It pains to see dev(overwork, an now most of the original dev have left the company) getting bullied my the corporate head and shareholder
@adityajain6733 I'm right there with you. There was a time where I'd buy an AC game without knowing anything other than it's an AC game. Now, I'm thinking I'm going to skip shadows or at least wait for it to be like 20 dollars on sale. At this point I'm hoping Sony or Microsoft just buys the IPs, hits the reset button and in 6 to 8 years we get a fun AC game again.
"its paradise" - family is sick because they got fed literal shit but hey the weather and scenery equals that out ^^
Seriously, hope its rearly not that bad - back when i got the virus a girl who was at the same restaurant almost dehydrated from all the vomiting...
I think nobody wants to release next to monster hunter wilds 😂😂😂
What island are you on Luke? I live in the Bahamas.
I say they are trying to announce it for switch 2 as well and launch on it as well so next trailer will have switch 2 logo in it
what are you recording audio with, wthhh
man I really hope it ends up being a fun game. I basically grew up on assassin's creed 2, brotherhood, and revelations. Of course black Flag was awesome as well. Come to think of it I've played every assassins creed main game release. as I went back and played the first one with Altair post black flag. I know I've always wanted a true assassins creed game based in feudal japan. the setting is just begging for it, and I'm sure other folks have too.
I'm cold and all I can think right now is how jealous I am of you walking on a beach in your t-shirt
I was gonna wait till the week after to get the game. I really enjoy AC and from what I’ve seen so far im mostly on board. If the stealth, combat, and parkour is what we have seen Im excited. Im wanting to know how questing and skills and such are gonna work in the game. Either way a delay is never bad if a good game is released. More time to play AVOWED!
Luke we can all see that you didn’t want to end the video when you kept saying “I’ll see you guys soon” like 5 times at the end😂😂 we love you man!
Probably a smart thing on their part. In Feb, my most interest is in KCD 2, Trails Through Daybreak 2 (I will most def buy these two), followed by Civ 7 and Avowed. And at this point, I am still playing POE 2. I really have no interest in AC Shadows before these games I mentioned until I had my fill. Even then, I doubt I'll be anywhere done by the time March comes and passes.
